Bootsie753 im stoked for it! hey girlies my BGF is in track 2 & he had 2 miss like all of last season due 2 an ankle injury. & this is our first year on varsity, & im not nervous b/c of XC season, & my friend is so nervous idk what 2 tell him. any ideas? thanks

retef Bootsie753: o ya i get it now. thats cool! o and about the tips, try to eat healthy food when you crave for something. I tend to grab the unhealthy food first, but that won't help you in the long run. Hope this helps!

Bootsie753 i guess you could compare it to scrimmages in other sports. Its just running with other schools teams for practice, i guess? im not exactly sure either, i havent been to one yet. hahah

Unicornlover3 Hey I am going into 7 grade next year. Any high jumpers out there?? My dad was the track coach for a high school so I got to practice a lot. My best jump is 4 feet 4 but I just tipped the bar at 4 6. I was soo upset

kittycadet101 You're lucky to be allowed to do so many events!! At my school we're only aloud to do 4 events. so i do 1600, 800, 4 by 4, and high jump.

troublemakr78 and also, eat a little snack before practice so youre not running on an empty stomach, cause that can slow u down.... just dont eat too much or else you'll get cramps!! oh, and have fun!!

troublemakr78 dont slack!! half of my school slacks at practices and its so annoying.. plus u wont get the results u want. i worked really hard at cross country practices and didnt do much of anything else, and i managed to make my mile time a minute better

retef Ya, we never static stretch (thats y a lot of people are injured on our team) and we never do core afterwards(pushups, crunches, etc..) We run out of time... Lol.

retef oh its hard to time sprints cuz you have to reach down and stop the timing, but it takes longer to do that, so I just leave my watch at home... hey, good luck!!!

retef errrrr.... i run distance.... but my tip would be to run calm, but push yourself towards the time you want. Keep saying the time you need to get over and over again in your head while you run... Good luck!!!!

retef Tip of the day: drink chocolate milk (or plain milk or soy milk, but chocolate is best) after hard workouts or a long run because it gives you a lot of calcium, carbs, vitamins, minerals, So it helps you recover better.

retef Today i ran a 1mi. fartlek, which you run 1mile, but you speed up at random times or on the side of the track. Its a great workout to try!!! (you can also make it a longer fartlek)
