So to get discussion going, let's talk costumes! What's your favorite costume you've ever had, or the worst o.O describe it hah. Lemme think... we never ended up picking it, but one option for ballet a few years ago was just a long dress, that looked like a wedding cake! literally it was like silky cream colored and had some flowers lol. And one i have this yeah lookes like someone (sorry if this grosses u out lol) puked a tree onto fabric, it's rly dark green and alost looks leafy lol

GracieEllaGirl My fav class is lyrical/modern but jazz comes in a close second. I also really like hip hop. Ballet is okay but it can get really boring. My least favorite is tap.

balletchic Hey, I am new! My fave class is ballet (pointe) or jazz! By the way, lyrical isn't a real style of dance, it has no technique, and most studios take ballet and jazz, mix it and call it lyrical.

mangochick12 @danceqtqueen we'd love to have u as an officer, but like i said, you have to post frequently, like minium 2 or 3 a week, i completely understand that ppl r busy, but if you can post atleast twice, sure! u can b an officer. And to reply to ur question, the thing that always catch peoples eyes (atleast at my shows) are when people do Fouettes (fwah- tehs). And they'll do a few of them in a row and in my opinion the look awesome!

mangochick12 so i assume most of us know that with dance... comes a lot of drama. am i right? And one of the big drama starters each year at my studio is positioning for the recital numbers. It's like this for a lot of girls... you're either in the front, or you're not, and they do nothing but complain and sulk if they get put in the back. While ik that everyone wants to be in the front time and time again, but depending the how many classes ur in, that determines how many times you're in the front. And I got front for lyrical and I really excited abput that! I said the drama thing because all this week I've heard people complain about "oh I'm way better than her, I should be in the front" "Why is SHE in the front? I'm never in the front" and "I kinda feel bad that ur not in the front for tap" my friend said that last one to me, but honestly, idrc :) AS long as I'm seen I'm fine haha My point being, have you ever experienced drama while at dance? p.s. sorry this is so long :P

mangochick12 SO at my studio, when you're a senior, you can make up a solo and preform it at the show. ANd sometimes people have done duets and stuff like that just because. I'm a teacher's assistant, which means I help teach the little kids on weekends, along with 3 other girls. SO this year we're gonna do a special number just for the teaching assistants!! Since 2 of us do tap, and the other 3 know hip hop, 2 of us are going to be doing tap while the other 2 do hip hop. IT'S GONNA BE SOO EPIC!!! point is, rehersal for THAT starts saturday!!!

mangochick12 hey guys! i'm sorry i haven't been on! i'm in florida and didn't have internet till now!!! @briblue3 GO FOR IT! i wasn't taking private lessons, but i got moved up to the hogh schoolers and adult classes this year too! it might be weird at frist, but it ends up being so much fun! so a few night ago there was this beach bash at the resort i'm staying at, but it got moved inside cause of weather conditions... and it was awesome outside!! so idk what they were thinking. anyways, they played alot of rp music, and alot of guys were like break dancing, u know? i gotta admit tho, it was awesome. i mean they were standing on their heads, and doing that weird but cool move where they're llike spinning on their backs and stuff. but in the end, everyone decided the party was stupid and left to go to the beach anyways lol! i'll check back soon!

Irishdancerzrule Could I have a position? I only do Irish currently- but I did ballet, and tap (and jazz a little) a few years ago. I'm on a lot in the summer- and next school year I'll try to be on a lot more.

Irishdancerzrule Dance will be over for the summer for me in 2 weeks, but all everyone else are done. I have a huge competition coming up and then I'm done for the summer. I practice everyday -only things I'll miss:learning new steps and dancing ceilis (with others)

Irishdancerzrule actual dancer Irish- last 5 years -ballet/tap/dance team from age 4.5-8.5 (so in total 9 years, but thats only training stuff- in between I've practiced and danced still, probably since I was 3, I just for parts didn't have a formal teacher)
