fungirl123 I have a topic for his week: Forgiveness. After learning more about the boy that beat up a kid in my grade, I felt sooo bad about posting the story on GL.com. I made him seem like a thoughtless jerk! *I’m giving them alias names so I won’t have to use the word “boy” over and over again**I’ll call the boy who beat up the kid “Joe”.* Well, to start off, I found out from the ladies at my church (Joe goes to church with me) that Joe has never had a good life at home. His mom is always a downer, and his dad used to abuse him. He’s also always had issues with anger. When I heard this, I felt like a real jerk! I saw him the following day at Bible Study; I then forgave him for beating the kid up. Am I saying that he doesn’t deserve to be under house arrest? fungirl123 Special report! On Friday, our school had our Homecoming football game. It all started out well…Until two boys a year younger than me started making trouble. They started threatening a boy in my grade telling him that if he didn’t fight, they hurt him. So they threw him against a fence and started punching and kicking him. Then they threw him to the ground and yanked him back up by his neck. After I saw this happening, I ran over to the police car that had been sitting there and told them about the fight. The two boys that were hurting this kid were questioned. The boy that was hurt was sent to the E.R. soon. The two boys were put under house arrest. The boy who was hurt is OK now, but he’s still recovering. I hope this lets everyone know how bad bullying can result. STOP THE BULLYING!!!!!!

fungirl123 This week’s Role Model: Demi Lovato! We all know Demi as the girl who went into treatment…but her life has much more to that. She was born in Dallas Texas on August 20th. (Skip a couple years…) Every morning (quote) “I would look at myself in the mirror and think to myself: ‘why don’t they like me…What’s wrong with me?!’” And the only answer she would ever get was “Because you’re just fat!” This went all through Elementary School and it finally boiled up so far that, when she was 11 yrs. old, took a razor blade to her wrists and made herself throw up for the first time. She says: “I felt somehow like cutting would make life easier…and, at the time, it felt like it did!” Then, a few months later, she got her big break on Barney and Friends…where her FAMOUS friendship with Selena Gomez started! Even on Barney, she didn’t feel loved. She was the one with the “ugly” glasses. She continued cutting herself even when she started on Disney on a show called “As the Bell Rings” as Charlotte, a girl with a killer voice and had a crush on “Danny”. She left the show after season 2 to start filming “Princess Protection Program”, where she happily worked every day with her best friend, “Sel”. About a year-and-a half after the film premiered, Demi and Selena began to grown apart. Selena began dating Nick Jonas and became closer to best friend, Taylor Swift, and Demi “Felt alone”. In one interview she was asked “So how is Selena?” She answered with: “I don’t know, ask Taylor.” It made Demi sadder that her BFF was growing closer to someone else. Then she filmed “Camp Rock!”, a movie where she met future boyfriend, Joe Jonas. One day, at a movie premier, she was posing with her wrists exposed. They showed red marks on the inside of her wrist. “The whole world new my secret that not even my parents new…It was bad!” she says in an interview with Robin Roberts. But the marks were blamed on “rubber bracelets”. She avoided the news and usured her parents that everything was OK! She auditiond for “Sonny with Chance” and got the lead role of Sonny on the Disney show. Then she filmed “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam!”, where she began dating Joe Jonas. The relationship was brief and he broke her heart, which only made her feel even more terrible. She cut herself more. It boiled up more when she was touring with the Jonas Brothers and punched her backround dancer. “I did something terrible to one of my friends! If she hadn’t forgiven me, I just couldn’t live with myself!” She cut more. She But it came to Demi that she was hurting herself and needed to let someone know. Demi was diagnosed with Bulimia and Anorexia. She spoke to her parents about it. Soon after, she went to Timberline Knolls, a treatment center, where she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. She walked in and instantly felt insecure again. “I walked in the girls there were surprised and started whispering…I felt more insecure than ever. But after a couple hours, the girls adjusted to having a celeb in their presents.” The first night, she got a call from a crying Selena Gomez. “I’m soo sorry, Demi!” “Hey, I’m the one in treatment; not you!” she says. They spoke and became good friends again. Demi says that she hated treatment at first; she couldn’t even go to the bathroom without someone watching her! She spent months in treatment and only saw her family over Christmas, where she cried at the site of “baby girl”, Madison (Who is really 10 yrs. old!). In Febuary, she was released and got to go home. She quit acting because it made her feel insecure being in front of a camera. She is focusing on singing and recording now. fungirl123 This week’s role model: James Durbin! (You don’t have to be a fan!) He was an American Idol contestant. When he was a kid, his dad wasn’t around much because he was in a band that was touring all the time. James’s Mom always told him that he got his AMAZING voice from his father. But James never did get to know that, his dad died of a drug overdose when James was young. Later in life, James was diagnosed with Asperger’s disease and Tourette’s Syndrom. (Asperger’s: Like Autism, but less severe. Tourette’s: Can’t control muscles. In James’s case, he constantly blinks and moves his head.) All through Middle and High School, James was bullied and made fun of. Later in life, James met Heidi, an “angel” (as James describes her). After years of dating, they were married and had Hunter, James’s and Heidi’s son. A couple years later, when Idol came to San Francisco, Heidi pushed James to audition. He took Jennifer Lopez’s, Steven Tyler’s and Randy Jackson’s breath away with his unbelievable Rock ‘n’ Roll voice! James was ecstatic when they told him he was going to Hollywood. James went through many hard times during Idol. During the final cuts of the judges, Steven told James “You really disappointed me…because you were better than ME!” James was at his saddest when Stephano, his roommate and best friend during Idol, was sent home. James was doing great but out of nowhere, James didn’t make it into the top 3. He did an AMAZING last performance before breaking into tears. Jennifer Lopez cried the most when James left. His last words: “I had a feeling that 4 would be the number…” But usually only the top 3 are welcomed home with parties, but when James got home, he was welcomed by 3,000 fans living near him! He did a concert and he still lives happily with his millions of fan, Heidi and Hunter. James is my inspiration. When he was invited onto the Ellen Show later after his elimination, he told her: “Weird is the new normal!” I live by that famous quote now! Go James Durbin!!!! : )
