pinkypi26 Before you go to a job plan some activites to do, that way when you get there you wont be bored! Want to treat the kids? Bake some cookies for them and bring them over! (Dont forget to ask the 'rents if its ok for the kids to have them tho!)

pinkypi26 Crafts are soo fun when babysitting. You can get some cute stuff for DIY projects at Walmart or the Dollar Tree. Just make sure to ask permission from the parents and let them know what you are doing. Don't forget to clean up after!

pinkypi26 If one of your little one gets hurt while you're in the job remember to stay calm. If you freak out so will they. Always ask the parents where the first aid kit is before they leave so you can plan ahead on how to handle an emergency situation

pinkypi26 Round up old toys & board games to create a babysitting "fun bag". You can get some cheap crafts and toys from the dollar store or walmart to add to it! The kids will love it! Try to swap out the toys every few weeks to add variety & avoid boredom

pinkypi26 It may be harder to get a job if you're only twelve. Try telling neighbors and have your parents tell your coworkers that you are now babysitting. You could also put fliers up (don't put personal info on them, just an email and name)!

pinkypi26 A good charge for a beginning babysitter is right around $5 per hour and $1 more per hour/per additional child. As you get more experienced, rates generally go up to around $8 an hour. Talk to other babysitters and the clients to decide on your rate!

pinkypi26 Another messy eater tip: Make sure they are over hardwood or tile floor so it's easy to clean up the mess. Also cover their shirt by tucking in a paper towel (and if they're really messy put napkins over their lap) so they don't ruin their clothes!

pinkypi26 Babysitting Kit: Make sure you have age appropraite stuff. For younger kids: coloring books, crafts, books, dolls, dress up clothes For older kids: books, crafts, board games, playing cards..... You get the idea! Have Fun!

kittykatkatie k i will update vp and secratary. also i have anthoer tip: it may sound crazy but here it is. if you babysit a kid who is a messy eater, and you give them a treat, place them in the bathtub to eat it, all you have to do is rinse them and the tub!

pinkypi26 Another Tip: Don't be afriad to tell the kids no or yell at them. Just do it in a nice way- Get down on their level and say it in words a kid can understand. Be nice about it too! Nobody likes to get yelled at, why make it worse? :)

pinkypi26 I haven't taken the class but I'm certified in CPR and First Aid. My best advice would be to ask the parents if they have any rules (bedtime, what they can/can't eat, etc.) Brittany G.

karatedance<3 I have taken a red cross babysitting class. I babysit for a young kid and baby on a regular basis. My best tip would be to not be afraid to ask the parents questions!Make sure you know who can eat what,how to use appliances,emergency contacts,etc.

sparkleey yay! i took the course today! my dad is gonna let me babysit now (but imagine if he didnt... then the course wouldn't have been very useful, would it? :p) it was so fun!! i TOTALLY recommend taking it, its a great opportunity!

sands1999 If your mom trusts you she would let you babysit now. But don't rush. Take your time and slowly ease into the conversation.It worked with my mom.
