snoodle9 You could straighten it, then put it in a bun with a couple pieces dangling. Braids are really popular in the spring, and a Dutch Braid looks really good. I would straighten your hair first, but it's just a backwards braid. I hope I helped!

helen_li_luvs_u if you want to do your hair differently, you could do a waterfall braid which works in short hair,or crimp it... you could also make mini braids and pin them in a bun or braid hair across you head like a headband.. or chalk your hair, it looks cool:)

aubrey12344 Put your hair in two braids, then squirt water on them until your hair is damp. sleep like that overnight, in the morning take them out and you will have big curls. For smaller curls put more braids than two in your hair!

AppleJazz88 You could pin it back with clips or use a headband, but I like to make my own hair accessories! I make ribbon bows and duct tape bows (just Google DIY hair bows to find patterns) and I love them! If you're not into crafting, you can always buy bows.

AppleJazz88 I had the same issue! I always do my hair with something fun like a cute clip or bow, a headband, or wave it. You can buy wavers (they have normally have three barrels) in Walmart, which is where I got mine. It's cheap in really easy to work with. Also try pinning back cute twists with a colored/patterned duct tape bow.

aubrey12344 I still get bangs in the morning after 12 hours of sleep, how i get rid of them is putting a metal spoon in the freezer for 10 min. then place the spoon on the bags under your eyes. It won't get rid of them completely, but they will be a lot smaller!

oreolover123 A great trick to help make the forehead look smaller is to contour. With a brush, softly apply a matte bronzer to the outside of the forehead, by your hairline-temples, and top of forehead. The contouring effect works great to help slim down a face and make areas of the face appear smaller. Also Avoid headbands or anything that attracts the eyes to the forehead and focus on something else on your face. Men usually look at your eyes first, so I suggest you get some killer mascara and eyeliner so that it isn't the first thing people look at. Other than that, don't sweat it.

LudaKrys @maddiemimi and PLLbellaboo200-chapstick, a little bottle filled with some of your makeup remover (just make sure it's in a baggy in case it busts) or makeup wipe (cuz if you rub your eye or something, then you can fix it with the "clean-up" essential, as I call it). If you wear eyeliner on your waterline you might want that in there and mascara. Hope this helps ya! :D

Also find a great-looking bookbag and new hairstyles to do. @Susmita24-You could do a collage with your favorite pics from magizines on the outside, or take a sharpie and have all your friends sign it and write notes and stuff. Also, you could design it with duct tape. @hiphop1199-I think you should just so you still get that mascara effect but, don't curl your lashes or cake on mascara. Also, don't waste money on a expensive mascara that makes your eyelashes longer. fashionincolor Well, the point of mascara is really to make your eylashes look longer and thicker. If you're lucky enough to have lashes like that naturally, you don't really need mascara(:

LudaKrys Since almost everyones questions have an answer I'm just going to answer the ones with no answers (but if you want yours answered by me or Meagan then we could answer too also). @Sweetheart♥-the best thing I can tell you about dealing with your mom is, be patient. You don't want to beg and whine, but you do want to make sure she knows that your serious. If she says no when you ask again, go to your room for about 10 min. (but don't "storm off") and then come back and say, "Mom, I was just wondering, I really want to wear makeup and I know you said no but can you please tell me why?" Hopefully she'll tell you why and then at least you'll know her point of view and maybe understand why she is saying no. As for the boys, I had the same problem! Some will notice and compliment you while others will say stuff like, "Why are your cheeks so red?" (which in fact did happen to me one day when I decided to wear blush for the first time :/ ) It all depends on your friends. At first they may think it doesn't look quite right but that's just cause the aren't use to it yet. Eventually, they'll be saying, "How come you didn't wear makeup today?" Hope this helps! :)

LudaKrys @shakeitupfan-one way is to use folders for your classes to keep several papers in. Then clean it out of unneeded items at the end of the week. For my math class, I had a seperate notebook that I did all my homework assignments in, so I knew where to look when it came time to turn it in. I think most schools supply a planner, but if yours doesn't, I would recommend buying one and writing your assignments and due dates in it. Have sticky notes in your locker of reminders. LudaKrys @shakeitupfan-My advice is to be open with people and have a great time. Oh! I forgot to tell people this *facepalm*!! You might have to get up earlier, like me, so make sure you get a lot of sleep! Also, somedays you'll have a lot of homework, while others you'll have barely any. Use any extra time in class to do homework! It leaves your afternoons and weekends school free! I hope this helps ya!! :) -Krysta

LudaKrys Hey everybody! Sorry, I had been gone for a bit but now I'm back so yay! I'm gonna try to answer all your questions but if I miss one let me know, and I'll answer it for you!! @megan1418-One thing you need to know about middle school is you do a lot of walking! Make sure you get shoes that are comfortable, but I cute and different than everybody elses. @farmchic-french braiding isn't very hard. To learn, it you can go to other websites like youtube or sometimes pintrest and watch a video of someone doing it. But the basic steps are to, 1. split your hair into 2 pieces. 2. grab a small piece of hair from one of the original larger pieces and bring it over to the other original larger piece. 3. alternate step 2, between the two larger pieces until you have reached the end. 4. tie it off with a pony tail holder. @diggy02-find a cheap place in your area to buy accesories, such as, rings, necklaces, braclets, earrings, ect. Do some studying in the fashion world and you'll find the best ways to spice any style or outfits you had in mind for your sophisticated look. @Ostar21-Something that I never really thought about when I went into middle school was how much bigger it would be. I thought I would be with all of my friends like before. But when I got there it, I had a few of my friends, but most of the faces were all brand new! It was like kindergarten all over again! What I'm trying to say is, you basically get a fresh start, you'll keep your old friends but you'll make a lot more! Try to be nice, but don't act like people can push you around. The best advice I can give you? Be yourself. Also, I got my picture from google images and copied it onto paint, saved it as a picture, and then set it as my profile pic. (I hop that's what you mean cause I'm not exactly sure what a gif is)@divaday5-Trying to convince your parents to let you go to a public school is one thing. But if your focus is to meet new people, then get involved in sports outside of school, go to popular places around town that people your age would go and get to know people there. In a situation like this, play to your strengths. If you active go into sports, if your into biking or skateboard head to the local skatepark, if you live in an area full of kids invite them over. If your into it, go to it, and get to know the people there who are into it too.@farmchic-The easy steps into lookin' good are to 1. style your hair 2. dress to impress 3. be yourself 4. be confident not cocky. 5. be helpful and friendly. But being confident is a biggy cause people definitely notice someone who knows what there doing. Truthfully don't worry about being noticed to much. Just be yourself and the right group of friends will come along. There are some great articles in the new magzine issue that should definitely help you with the up coming year, also! :)

You meet people from different schools, and by changing classes your not always with the same people all day everyday. Plus, you if you don't like one of your teachers, then you have other ones that make up for it. If you have any sibs, ask them what it was like for them, too. Try to stay on the teacher's good side. You don't have to be a teacher's pet, but you don't want to be on there bad side. :)

oreolover123 @Susmita24- Here are some of my tips! 1.Make sure you use your planner! Most schools provide these but if yours doesn’t GO BUY ONE! It really helps me keep track of what I need to get done. 2.Make sure your locker is clean, to do that you are going to need to get a good method… So I like shelfs and I can put my back pack on the bottom and you can then put your textbooks on top. 3. You will probably have more homework, BUT use all your time in class, say you have 5 extra minutes in class use them! Even if lots of people are talking and messing around, use the time. You can totally get half of an assignment done, depending on what it is or how long. 4.Passing periods, mine are 5 minutes I’m not sure what yours is but regardless you need to make sure you are watching your time! If you don’t want to talk to friends and you don’t need to get all the way across the school then you can use your extra passing time to finish homework from your last hour (the homework you just got) 6. Check lists are so helpful for me! It feels awesome to check something off. 7. Please ASK QUESTIONS IN CLASS! If you don’t understand something or you need clairfaction then please ask! Someone else is probably wanting to know the same thing. 8.If you arennt happy with your grade in a class then there is not harm in asking a teacher about extra credit or extra work to bring up your grade or even to retake a quiz. It cant hurt! Hope I helped! :)

LudaKrys A great way to straighten your hair without the heat, is to wash it, brush it with a flat brush, blow dry it, and then brush again with a flat brush. Sometimes it frizzes though...:/

LudaKrys @Susmita24-Okay, how about we start with the question, 'is it that hard?' Every year it gets a little bit harder. You'll probably have homework almost every night. Math always gets harder, but try to soak up every thing you can (in every class), because what you learned last year is going to be a great part of this year. Most of the stuff is like every other year. They tell you to use your time wisely and follow the rules (which you should by all means). Now lets try the supplies question. You'll need a sturdy binder, most likely 3 ring. Have lots of paper, and I like to have a few spiral notebooks, one of which I use for my math homework, so I always know where it's at. Highlighters are estentail when working with notes/packets. They keep the info easy to find. Sometimes a calculator is suggested and definitely have pens. Pens can be used in English and to sign binders and stuff like that. Index cards and or sticky notes are a must. There great for studying (which you'll need to do) and having reminders. Tips- 1. By now you know mostly everyone, unless you're new or have only been there for a year, so be open (even if you are new, still be open, cause next year for alot of people is high school!), some of these people are like family and teachers are like your very own second parents. Treat everyone with respect and be open and friendly. 2. Be an example to others. 3. Be organized and do your homework. If you miss a day it can be hard to catch up. So, dont procasitnate!! That's about as much as I know and can tell you. I hope this helps you!! :)

LudaKrys @mommy's girl-Foundation is a heavier make up used to cover blemish, and even out your skin tone. Tinted moisturizer is lighter and doesn't cover up acne as well. It moisturizes you skin and gives you a glow. Several tinted moisturizers have SPF, which makes them sorta good for you. If you have oily skin then you probably should use foundation, but foundation can speed up the aging process if it has unhealthy ingredients in it. Personally, I would use a tinted moisturizer. I hope this helped you! :)

Tip 2: If your mascara isn’t looking as good or appling as well as normal it is most likely because you didn’t get it all off the night before! 3rd Highlighting can open up your face and illuminate it! Take a light light gold or a white or light color blend to brow bones and checkbones also tear ducts! Good liquid liner is the Maybelline ultra fine liquid liner! Some good mascara is Covergirl Lash blast (black tube) 24/7 hour! :) Also as far as eyeshadow goes for I like covergirl or loreal duos! Elf is good and affordable! <3

oreolover123 @promqueen105 To start with hair make sure you have it trimmed enough and get rid of split ends, wash it really well! Also straightening or curling can make it look sooo different! Skin: Make sure you expholiate at least 3-4 times a week and wash your face! Don’t forget to mostorize! Outfit etc: Make sure you someone corridnate your tops and bottoms. Shaved legs (if your allowed and old enough) Makeup is optinal! You can go natural, Concealer for any lil acne or blemishes or even under eye circles. Mascara can be such a small task for a big impact! So if you do… than curl your lashes 1st to get a fuller effect. Good brands for mascara, Covergirl or maybeline. Hope this helped!

If I remember correctly, you take a shower at night then use like a tube sock with the foot cut off and roll your hair in it let it dry over night and (watch a video how to, to see in detail) bang insta-curls! dojhallow97 i would suggest cover girl mascara. Its amazing and doesnt clump. I dont htink that you need eyeshadow or eyeliner; if you want to use eyeliner try a dark brown for a natural look. Stick to that and a lil foundation by revlon! :) x0x0 -c

oreolover123 @ostar21 I made this club March 17th 2011 :) I started really slow. You know get maybe 1 member a week. But with the members i got i gave them the BEST advice i could, I would even reasearch so i could give them the best advice and tips and hoped they would recommend my club their friends. But make a good little paragraph about your club, then you can post it on GL's articles but I BIG tip is DON’T POST THEM ON CLUBS! Im really forgiving about it but so club owners arent so nice about it. Make sure to mention you have officer postitions open (if you do) And make sure to use your invite box on the club and invite EVERYONE! Good luck. And trust me it takes time. I worked so hard to have the #1 club and look where I am now :) _Megan

dancestar2452 Hey! Well I need advice on what to do…my uncle had Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) and he came to live with us for 4 years. My mother’s job was to take care of him…it was hard. He gave us so much joy though. He was funny too (: he always gave me advice…he was very wise! I Love him soooo much! Well on New Year’s Day this year, he passed. Now, my mother is depressed and without a job for now. Everything is tough. I’m doing alright but my mom…Idk. My dad and two sisters are also alright but I’m worried for my mom. She’s stressed with finding a job and even though she doesn’t try it, it brings stress on me too. I also have a LOT of other things going on on top of that. LudaKrys Even though I don't have a phone yet, (and I do want one) there are benefits to not having one. 1. You will never be broken up over a text 2. You and your friends make actual planned plans where you know all the details 3. A ringtone will never wake you up in the middle of the night 4. You get to see the face your talking to, and it is not in a tiny box 5. Your teachers won't yell at you for having it in class (cause you won't have one!!) I know there are many more but I don't have the time to list them all. I hope you understand that if your phoneless, like me, and you feel like you're the only one, don't worry. Just remember all the things that people with phones are missing out on, like a sleepful night! ;)

GT23 @dojhallow97- I think u should sit down with your mom when u wont get interrupted. Ask her about the reasons why she wont let u get contacts. If she never explains why point it out to her. Make her expand on why "you are not a good candidate". Then tell her why you think you need contacts. When he's walking in the halls try talking to him! The more you guys talk, the more he'll become your friend and notice you! 2) After he's your friend try showing interest in his things, like football, soccer, science fair, ect. Up the flirt factor and go on group "dates", like bowling with a bunch of friends or your schools team games. Stuff like that. The main thing to do is have him notice you. So really try hard to talk to him and get to know him. Remember though, don't become to pushy, cause you might come off as annoying, and then he might be rude to you in some way. LudaKrys vivaglam: Don't be afraid about asking just because your older sis waited. Taking an interest in make-up is apart of growing up. Make sure you handle this situation responsibly. Don't whine or complain if they say no. Make sure they know that you're serious about this and that you only want the basics. After all, most likely you'll end up expirimenting with different looks first. I got make-up when was twelve and I got the basics, which is exactly what you want! My parents understood and hopefully yours will too!! Remember if they do say no, it's not cause they don't think you're aren't mature enough or they're comparing you to your sis, it's cause they don't want to lose their little girl. You can also talk to your older sis to see how she handled the situation! I hope this helps!! Anything else not mentioned?? :)

oreolover123 @vivaglam Well for everyone its different. You could go to your mom and say something like “Mom I really want to start wearing makeup, I feel mature enough.” Just explain why, tell her you would wear an appropriate amount. And that she can come with you and tell you what you can get :) Hope this helps. You could ask her about it when your at a store together that sells makeup :) _Megan

oreolover123 Hey girlies! I'm really putting all my feelings out here and I also have an important thing to tell you guys but I'll tell you that last. So I wanted to talk about health and fitness and things along those lines! So I'm not overwieght or unhealthy or anything, I could wear a bikini and look fine but my confidence wasent at the point where I wanted to wear one. So I decided this is the summer I am not going to wear tankinis (I wore bikinis when I was younger) I made myself commit. I found health gurus (people on YouTube who "specialize" in something special like makeup health ect.) and I found "Amanda russel" and her videos looked easy so I tried them out. They were good but I wanted more! I stumbled on "power girl fitness" and fell in love with those workouts!! Honest! I decided I would start easy! I planned 5 days of there excersizes, I only did 2 days :( so the next time I said " Megan you can stay on this for a week and keep my life on track!" and that kind of thing is key! It helped! So I worked on it, I'm sucessfully on day 3 and I REALLY want to go up to my school track and run a mile :) I am finally self motivated <3 my abs are sore and my legs so it's amazing! So far I have lost 5 pounds :D and doing it correctly. I feel great and I will fill you guys in IF YOU WANT :) up to you... Haha anyway so my announcement was I won't be on much this week I'm so sorry girls! Heres why: my sis is finally home for a week (right after my spring break) and I have drill team tryouts (we have clinics all week) and IM SO NERVOUS!! oreolover123 Hey! Okay so stay away from the blues you dont want them to blend! lol. Golds and purples are great be careful with purple because you dont want it to get sloppy. Those are my top two colors, try out the maybelline colorTatoos :) in bold to gold or bad to bronze <3 they are amazing!

oreolover123 froglegs66 What ever you do DON’T WEAR PIGTALES! Its just going to make you look really young and childish! It’s a major guy turnoff! (I asked all my guy friends) So side braids are always a cute way if you like having your hair over your shoulder. I also think that you should try to maybe go simple by doing straightened or curled hair with the front piece/s braided back or twisted. Buns are classic :) Great for a chic modern look! Also try a flipped pony tail if this look confuses you or your not sure what it and Is comment “#5” sometimes simple is a greater change than hard to do looks. Also add bows and clips clips to any look :) Go for pink blue and green clips and bows are whatever you would like the colors I gave would look nice with your brown hair XOXO

LudaKrys Probably base what you do with your hair on what you wear that day. If your dressing lazy, pony tails and crazy buns. If your wearing a one-strap avoid side-braids and side-ponytails. I like doing baby buns type things, cause it makes me look sweet!!

usmcbratknc I think you could do like a side braid. pull your hair to the side(one side) and the braid it then if you have a light colored flower hair clip, its cute to put that in it :) good luck!
