michipie205 AW, yeah it's definitely scary knowing that there's a possibility it could have affected someone you know. But whether it affects someone you know or not, it's still so sad to think about it. They should definitely be more careful w/ information.

But yeah my cousin (who lives in Maine) heard an annoucement at school that there was a school shooting in my town and she was freaking out all day because they didn't say it was an elementary school :-( I feel like people should be more clear with information this huge

michipie205 But just know, that no matter how tough it is to make it through some days you have your community, family, friends, and even this whole country supporting your town so never feel alone.

michipie205 It's sad though if you think about it that it takes a huge senseless tragedy such as this one for our entire country to come together as a whole. Things like this should never,ever, happen.

maggie183 Thanks so much<3 Yeah it's hard but we've all been in it together..it seems as if everyone knew somebody who died and if they didn't they know someone who did....(like Obama said), so we are here for eachother. Like today all of the schools gave out T shirts, ribbons and bracelets in honor of that day today and so every kid in town could be wearing them when we had the moment of silence. And it is just so nice and helpful that all of these other schools from all over are supporting us....we have banners from 3 different schools hanging in our lobby right now.

michipie205 Today at school we had a 26 second moment of silence in honor of all the victims who died. It didn't even affect my town and everyone here is still in utter shock and despair, it's just such a senseless tragedy.

michipie205 Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine what that must've been like for you hearing that going on. And I completely agree too, I feel like your community is really strong and brave because you all are trying to make it through the best that you can.

maggie183 Thanks so much. Yeah it's been so hard...everywhere you look people are just crying or roaming the streets or whatever. Like just yesterday when my mom and I went to the grocery store people were just crying as they were shopping...it was so sad ;(. And yeah I know exactly what you mean..you never think anything to huge or bad thats on the news or whatever could happen in your town. And I don't know but I always picture stuff like this happening in like a run down city or something.. But yeah...we are all making it through. We've been spending lots of time this weekend at family friends houses..so we have all been together and that's been really helpful. But yeah there are so many sad storys because it seems everybody knew somebody affected from somewhere. People keep saying how we are such a strong town and community and how we are setting an example for the rest of the country/world with how we cope with this..so thats giving people the determination to carry on. We didn't have school today but tomorrow we are going back with a 2 hour delay schedule (personally I'm glad we are going back..but it's going to be weird/sad too). And aw that's so nice of your school to be sending a banner! I hope I'll be able to see it too! (: It's really nice to know we have so many people behind us and supporting us<3 And of course I'm just SO grateful it wasn't my school and that my family stayed safe. When we were in lockdown on Friday we all were like reading about what was going on on our phones (well not me because of course I don't have a smartphone..lol) and someone said someone was shooting at the middle school. And I like almost passed out I got so dizzy..because of my sister. But like 5 minutes later it was cleared up and we figured out it was one of the elementary schools. Anyway thanks so much for your kindness and support<3

michipie205 I just wanna offer my sympathy and condolescenes to you and your town, and to anyone else it affected. My school has a banner that we're going to sign and send it to your town at the end of the week sometime. I hope you'll be able to see it!

michipie205 And to now know that you did, and you actually knew some children who were killed, is insane. When you see tradegies like this on t.v., you never expect to happen in your town, but now knowing that it did it makes you believe it could happen anywhere

maggie183 Oh and yes I knew countless people that went to that school..mostly from camp..luckily so many of them were ok. There are four elementary schools in my town....I went to a different one.

maggie183 Yes. Unfortunitly two little girls I knew from the camp I worked at were killed and so was one of the teachers from my camp who taught a class I was in. It's all to crazy. And then tonight Obama is speaking in my school auditorium which is so crazy because it's going to be televised and everyone in the country is going to be looking at my schools auditorium (which is also my homeroom....that i sit in every morning)...its to public. And my town is honestly such a good/safe town with an amazing community atmosphere..nobody gets how this happened here.
