laurlaur24 #3. My best advice is to find a sport that you like or a good gym. Doing something that you like to do & that's challenging is the perfect exercise formula! For eating healthy-come up with a plan like you'll eat a healthy b-fast & lunch.

honeycakes @sunny you can still do cardio, you'll just have to adjust. If you have a treadmill you can go for a jog on there, if not, try skipping rope, doing jumping jacks, or try circuit training (I'll post a link) also, do crunches and other ab workouts

honeycakes I posted this on my other club but I thought I should post it here too! I just tried greek yogurt for the first time&it's delicious! but its also so healthy too it has probiotics&lots of protein + it has less sugar than regular yogurt!!Give it a try!

rockchik333 So my friend and I made a pact to each other-we would each do 30 sit-ups a day! It really worked for the 1st 2 weeks, then we both started forgetting...but it is a really good way to start exercising and stay committed.

rockchik333 @BEV-good idea! If you want to snack on something sweet, try yogurt! It is delicious, and is good in calcium, and for your digestive system. Just watch out for the sugar-its worth it for me, though. I like Yoplait!

rockchik333 @honeycakes, if you want to drink more water, try keeping a water bottle around with you at all times at school, or make a point to go to the water cooler after every class,if you can.Also, if a friend wants to drink more, have a competition!

rockchik333 My exercise for my abs is this...lie on your back and lift your shins up parallel to the celeing so your knees should be bent tighten your abs and pull your knees to your stomach then let it back to the starting position. Make sense?

Seal17 Hey guys, ive been riding my bike a lot recently, for exercise and i made up a game. Since i ride along the street & near nature, every time i hear a car horn i speed up a little and every time i see a bunny i crouch down (which works my abs) for 20 sec. U can make up rules like this with any exercise and it pushes u to Work harder :D

Seal17 Hey guys today was the first day of that really hard camp i told u about, and it acctually wasnt that bad. The activities were a lot better than past years. One tip for you guys is: if you are playing wiffel ball, or soft ball with your friends (just for fun), the best spot to be is the pitcher because you get a lot of exercise throwing and catching with your arms, running to catch the ball or get some one out, and you still get to bat when your team is up!

Seal17 Tip: if you have a "tradition" or habit in you house of having pizza every friday or pancakes on wendsday ect. And if you want to break one of thoes habits, u should first slowly ease off of it. Start by only eating it every other week. Then do it once a month. This is good because it will also make you feel good. For example if you have dessert almost every night, and your eating it and it tastes so good, but it makes you mad at your self for doing it, then thats bad.  But if you have it once a week, then each time you eat it you will savor it, because it feels like a privalidge, and know your doing something good for your body! Hope this helps :)

Seal17 *B*E*<3 thats great!! Im looking for a work out buddy, and i think im going to do it with my friend! Also another tip is that today was my last day of school and i was emptying out my books from my backpack. It was really heavy so i left it on the 1st floor, and went back and forth up the stairs emptying my books, papers, and things to my room. Also instead of collecting all the papers i wanted to shred in a pile, i took them one by one to the shreader when i found them. I got a really good workout, and my school stuff was all cleaned up! This is a tip for you guys, since i know that school is coming to an end! hope this helps! ;)

Seal17 Tip: usually if you did a really good job at working out and staying true to your eating habits, u want 2 reward yourself, but if you reward your self by some canady or food, then you might slip back into bad habits. So instead, you can let yourself spend a little extra money @ the mall next weekend, or let loose and tell yourself your going to do whatever you want one day. You can reward yourself with whatever makes you happy :) but try not to make it food

Seal17 @novalesko some ways that you can stay fit, are dping workout on the ground, or on your back. Like crunches, bicycle, and its best to always be stretching!! Also if you belong to a gym, they have machines where you just have to sit down and pull a bar down to work your arms, or theres another one where you can sit down and work your legs, by pushing on weights. Which is another thing you can do, weights.

Seal17 I had been doing really good fitness wise but this past weekend was my b-day, so instead of cake i asked my mom the buy cupcakes for my party and it was better. Then i went to the gym and worked it off. But on monday i got sick and now i have been home sick on tuesday, and im at home now (wednesday). So i cant really work out, but i cant really eat either... *B*E*<3 To get better at push ups, you need to start off really slow. Start off by doing them on your knees. Make sure when you are trying to get better that you go ALL the way down. To increase your strength in general, go into push up position and hold it!

Seal17 rockchick- cool! Sounds like it was a good game! You can twist you ankle around and move it back and forth. A good thing for calfs is to start standing up tall then reach down and touch the ground with your hands. If you cant then reach a little forward, till your hands touch the ground. From this position, try to straighten your legs and keep your heels on the ground. If you dont feel anything in your calfs, walk you hands foreward. Sorry it sounds a little confusing, but this should help! (its also known as the down ward dog stretch or something, so u could search that up)

I used to do the treadmill and i was loosing a couple pounds, but when i started going on the eliptical I could acctually see changes! Im pretty sure its just about your body type, and what you like better, but stairs and elliptical will benefit you!! Really anything that gets you moving, and your heart pumping!

Seal17 Tip: a great way to loose weight is to sign up for a running race. Now that the weather is getting better, there are 5k's and 10k's happening almost every other weekend! If you sign up for one with a friend, then you guys get to train, hang out, and motivate each other. I did a race with my running club, and it was really fun!! We all had a great time and i toned my legs very well!!

honeycakes @Princess Keziyah-when you are exercising you don't necessarily need to feel a burn! Usually the only exercises that do that are strengthening ones like lifting weights! Basketball and dancing are great ways to exercise because it gets your body working and your heart pumping and it leaves you feeling great when you do it often. It is a great form of cardio!! So keep it up and remember you shouldn't feel a burn in every exercise! The most important thing is that basketball and dancing are FUN forms of exercise!! :D

*B*E*<3 @novalesko, try jogging a little each day, increasing the amount you run each day, and you will start to notice your legs becoming more toned. Also, do 50 sit ups a night, and watch what you eat. You will start to notice a difference, trust me! Make sure you are really disciplined in what you eat and how much you exercise. It really helps. Maybe even try to find a workout buddy, they are very motivating if they are into exercising! (: Good luck!

Seal17 Novalesko- hey if you really want to loose wait try cardio work outs like running, the eliptical, and biking. If you want to tone a certain area work that area a lot. For you stomach: sit-ups and crunches, legs: lifting your legs up and down while your butt is flat on the ground, and arms: push-ups and weights. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Seal17 *B*E*<3 - i usually pull my muscles a lot doing track, but i love track!! One way to treat your muscles is to put ice on them in order to get rid of the pain, or heat to reduce any swelling. Another great thing is to lightly stretch the muscle(s) so that you are making them stronger while they are healing. And the best thing to do is rest you muscles :)

*B*E*<3 Sorry it took so long for me to post! I was at my grandmas for a week or so, and she doesn’t have internet at her house. @honeycakes, I responded on God Girl! (: I do track and field, and I love it! I JUST got back from one. It started storming REALLY bad, so we had to stay in the bus for 2 hours. I then pulled a muscle while doing a 4x100 meter relay. I had to go do long jump…. And I did horrible! I got 11’10, and I normally get around 13’2”. It was disappointing. THEN I had to run the 800 meter, and I shaved 10 seconds off my time. I pulled my muscle AGAIN in the middle of the 800! :( I just wanted to let ya’ll know, that when you run, you HAVE to push yourself. You will get nowhere in running if you don’t push yourself. It is hard, but something you have to do! (: Sorry my reply took so long! It won’t be long anymore, I just couldn’t reply AT ALL this week! :(

Seal17 Tip: before working out, usually you are tempted to drink energy drinks. How ever a lot of them are packed with suger, which acctually slows you down. Water is great and so is fresh fruit juice. Apple juice, orange juice, and other fresh fruit juices have natural sugar and are better :)

Seal17 Tip: eating before you workout (especially when u do intense cardio) can give you cramps, and so can drinking a lot. If your thirsty take sips of water NOT gulps. Also bananas are a great food to eat about an hour/hour and a half before!! Keep in mind that when we eat food, it takes our stomaches about two hours to digest the food! A little crazy but true :)

honeycakes Usually after about a week of working out I get too lazy and I just say I'll just do it tomorrow, so here's my advice to you! DON'T procrastinate!! The only way to reach your goal is to stick with it like rockchik333 says!

honeycakes Get Fit Tip:Plan out the steps you need to take to reach your goal(s)! For example if you want stronger arms you could say 'I am going to lift weights every other night and eventually increase either the weight or the # of reps'!! What's your goal?

nellieg3 . . . . .running, jumping jacks, or jump rope. for endurance, just do it for as long as you can, and you will usually be able to do it for longer each time. Don't overexert yourself! Another way is to just invite some friends over and play soccer. Helen S.

honeycakes also those statistics are for both 12 and 13 yr olds-if your really worried about being too skinny talk to your mom and maybe go see a doctor if you are truly worried, but my advice is this be happy with who you are and your body shape! :)

*B*E*<3 Hey girls! I am glad I joined. I did gymnastics for 6 years, I am in track (distance, sprinter, and long jumper), I play basketball, volleyball, and possibly soccer. If you have an Ipod Touch or Iphone, there is an app called “Nike Training Center,” it is really amazing! It has really good workouts! Or, just search, “Abs” on the App Store search bar. To get more flexible, I do yoga at home. There is a channel on YouTube; Tara Stiles is amazing. Can I please be an officer? I eat healthy, exercise, and love motivating people! I am actually a long distance coach at my school for all of the runners. BTW, I am 14.

Seal17 Cont- up to running for longer. Also building motabolism will help you A LOT, so do some workouts like sit ups, push ups, and stretches. Also remember to eat healthy and drink lots of water, because it will make you feel great!!

honeycakes Dani143-while watching tv or not doing anything do some leg lifts-lie on your side and raise 1 leg up and down 20 time without touching the ground then switch legs! Another thing is lunges&walking lunges add weights after a few weeks. Do this often!!
