Spiritual Atheists and Agnostics
Can one be both spiritual and nonreligious? Spirituality is merely being in touch with your own true self. In the U.S. less than 10% of the population identifies as atheist. When it feels like 90% of the world is against you, it can be hard to stay true to what you believe. This club is about empowerment and helping others of the same beliefs to be proud of who they are. *Attention* absolutely NO hate speech or words of discouragement will be tolerated.

puffinlover99 @kansasbelle, no. I'm a firm believer that religion does not affect love, my father is catholic and my mother is agnostic. It may be easier, but I don't think that should be a primary trait in a guy/girl.

dramaticstar It is very rude to non-christians, I think, not to mention kind of humiliating, when you think about it. I know how you feel. At camp, we have to say grace before our meals, and it can be a bit awkward.

InsaneForRockNRoll The lack of legitimate evidence pointing in that direction leaves me skeptical of the idea of a god's existence. When I receive some better evidence (not a holy book or a natural occurrence), maybe I'll change my mind. Until then, I'm an Atheist.

InsaneForRockNRoll The vast majority of my friends are religious, specifically Christian, and they either completely deny the fact that I'm an Atheist, or they try to convert me. It's annoying sometimes, but I love them too much to let religion separate us.

InsaneForRockNRoll I'm proud to say that I was not indoctrinated as a child. My parents had the sensibility to let me take whatever religious path I thought best for myself, and I cannot thank them enough for it. I mostly feel bad for other family members and friends.
