10 series we fell in love with all over again this year

The last 12 months comprised the year of the series. We’re not exactly sure how many new series were launched and how many oldies-but-goodies got updates, but we sure as heck aren’t complaining! Here are our ten favorite new releases from 2013…

Requiem by Lauren Oliver

This series-ender is a tear-jerker. It follows Lena and Julian as they struggle through the Wilds…and gives u a huge dose of Hana we’ve been dying to see.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

This third book in the Divergent series had us sitting on the edge of our reading chairs. If you haven’t started the series yet, now is the time—the first movie comes out this spring!

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

We simply can’t get enough of this myth-busting series from Mr. Percy Jackson himself.

The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson

It’s a mystery that takes place in London at a posh boarding school. And it’s awesome.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

We admit it, when Marissa Meyer came out with another take on the Cinderella story, we were dubious. A couple chapters into Cinder, though, and we were sold. Continue the series ASAP with book number two.

Perfect Scoundrels by Ally Carter

Oh, Heist Society, could we every get enough? Survey says no, sigh.

Seige and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Was it an awesome year for series? YES! And this second book to last year’s Shadow and Bone rocks our YA socks.

The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter

Be warned, this one ends with a major cliffie! Guess that means we’ll have to re-read before book number three comes out—darn.

The Shadowhunters’ Codex by Cassandra Clare

OK, so it’s not quite part of the Mortal Instruments series—more of a companion piece, really—but it makes us want re-read the entire series, anyway.

United We Spy by Ally Carter

Ms. Carter is prolific—and this series about teen spies at a spy school makes us wanna spy on the neighbors. In a non-creepy way, of course.

What series is your absolute, hands-down, bring-it-to-a-desert-island favorite? Tell us in the comments!
