If you have been living in the same cave outside of Hogsmeade popular with outlaws, perhaps you haven’t heard that Universal Studios is expanding their Wizarding World of Harry Potter this summer. Yep, that’s right—Diagon Alley is coming to Orlando, FL. And as I am sure you could have guessed, I am stoked. Even though this concept image of Platform 9 ¾ is a wee bit creepy.
Still, my excitement cannot be dampened. Because get this: You get to ride the Hogwarts Express. From Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley. If we can’t apparate, take port keys or the Floo Network, well, I guess we’ll just have to muddle on with Muggle life with a crimson train. Sigh. Also making appearances will be some serious gift shop gold. Bring your galleons! You will want to take a boatload of wizarding artifacts home from…
- Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes
- Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions
- Magical Menagerie
- Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment
- Quality Quidditch Supplies
And when you’re parched and hungry enough to eat a hippogriff, you can stop at the Leaky Cauldron and Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour. But before all that, you’ll have to change your Muggle money at Gringotts. Yep, go hang with the goblins, visit your vault on a killer roller coaster ride (complete with thief’s downfall). And then maybe take a walk on the wild side at Knockturn Alley. Spooky.
What Harry Potter location would you fly to first? Tell me in the comments!
