Love Match by Monica Seles is the second installment in The Academy series and picks up just a few weeks from where the first book, Game On, left off. This fast-paced novel continues to follow a young, talented and passionate tennis player, Maya.
Maya has just landed a scholarship to a prestigious sports academy and has decided to go pro. After distancing herself from the boy drama that plagued her last year, she’s thrown herself into her game, putting in extra hours to be the best she can be. The hard work has paid off, considering she can hold her own in a match against one of her tennis idols and is now garnering the attention of sports agents, the press and other tennis stars.
But drama soon finds its way back to Maya. Her ex Jake devises a plan to get her back, just as Nicole (the girl who destroyed Maya and Jake’s relationship last year) is out to get her again. Will she be able to ignore the mayhem around her and focus on staying on top of her tennis game?
Maya may have thought that getting accepted into The Academy was difficult, but holding her own on and off the court in Love Match is where it really gets challenging for the pro.
