i'm glad that my advice helped you!!!! i'm sorry i didn't answer you right away! when i asked my mom, i just said, hey don't you think it'd be great if i had a party this summer? or it might have been the other way around-my mom might have offered lol. but i think that you should say "hey mom, do you think that i could have a luau this summer? it'd be awesome and i would pay for all of the directions myself. also, everybody could bring a dish to pass and that way we wouldn't have to spend much money on food! i think that it would be a great way to kick off the summer, don't you?" if she says no, give her some time to think about it and then maybe do a lot of nice things around the house and ask her again and say "i would help you with chores and stuff!!! and i really think that im mature enough to have a party" and stuff like that! i bet that if you're really nice and mature about it, she'll think it's a great idea too! i hope that this helped! and if you have a luau-DEFINATELY tell me how it goes!!!!

hey girl!!! i saw your post about having a summer luau party and i think it's a great idea!!!! i had a luau party in 5th grade and it was a total blast. for the money&lunch dilemma, i think that in the invitations, you could ask people to bring a dish to pass around. if not, like at my party, we just set out a TON of snacks (veggies, chips, fruits, FRUIT KABOBS were a BIG hit) and just had people snack on those. we set the time of the party a little bit in the afternoon like at 2, so that if it went like three hours it would end at five, which wouldn't be time for lunch or dinner.
i'm having a party at the end of the year cuz i'm graduating 8th grade, and i'm just gonna have everybody bring a dish to pass around.

also because everybody's gonna be playing around, they probably won't want to stop and eat dinner!! we played the limbo at my party and a bunch of other water games.

ANSWER TO QUESTION!!!!

1st off, TALK TO HIM!!!! That’s the basic starting point. Just get to know him!!! Be a little flirty, but not over the top to scare him away!!! Gain his trust, and get to know him better. And you can tell his mom, but don’t make her tell his mom, because that would be embarrassing for both of you in the end, and he would be even more embaressed to have his MOM tell him that a girl like him!
And to approach him, just talk about how youth group went, and anything else that you notice he likes, etc. and if you are too nervous to approach him, bring some friends with to start with!!!!!!!!!!!!
