How many girls? Hmm, let's see...there's me, Emma, Addy, Wren, Ellie, Emily...I think we have nineteen. How about you? I'm really excited for the meet in two days...crossing my fingers that I do well! I actually can't come to practice Friday, I have book club which I recently joined. BTW, I saw some of the books you reccomended, and I love some of them! I'm reading Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime for school and it's really interesting. I also have read all the Clique books except for My Little Phony which came out recently, and I LOVED Thirteen + One. All the books in the series are good, but that is the ultimate. I literally bawled at the end, but it was sooo good! It's rare for me to cry at a book, so that proves that it's a good one. Today in xc we did 800s and I came in second behind a really fast girl who is older than me, so I felt great about that. In between we did core and I can feel myself getting stronger! But it's just SOOO hot it's almost too much!
Runnergrrl16 on 8/26/2010 9:20:15 PM
No problem! Our coach wasn't here today, so we worked with another coach who is equally awesome. We had to run extremely hard hills four times, then do a different set of hills six times. I think we ran for 6 miles. I love doing xc as opposed to track because you get to enjoy the scenery and trails. Our first meet of the year is this Saturday! We have to be at the bus by 6 a.m. I am going to have trouble pullin myself outta bed...we do mostly away meets. How about you?
Runnergrrl16 on 8/25/2010 7:05:12 PM
Arg! This is SO annoying...I posted a comment but it never showed up! Anyway, usually I just drink a lot of water and try to kind of swallow my nerves. I have a lot of friends on the team, so we can be jittery together. What have you been doing in xc? Today we ran 2 miles, not much...
Runnergrrl16 on 8/24/2010 6:43:53 PM

Hey! Haven't heard from you in a while! Sup? School started August 2nd and cross-country started on the 10th. It's been super fun and we got popsicles after practice yesterday. What's new with you?
Runnergrrl16 on 8/21/2010 1:04:45 PM
hey CrossCountry! lately during a run my knees and thighs have been so tight and painful that I can't run anymore. I've been stretching and icing them, but nothing seems to work! we have a practice cross country race tomorrow and I'd really like to be able to run it. Thanks for any help

Hey i know that you give great advice so hears my question. Dear Cross Country, My new soccer season is coming up and this is a new team for me. We have this camp thing coming up in exactly 10 days! Our coach sent out an email saying that we better be ready to run a couple miles a practice and run sprints across the soccer field. I'm nervous cause when my season ended last year i was in a cast so i wasnt running or anything. It took longer than i thought for my foot to heal all the way. I have been working out a little bit, but i have ten days to perfect my mile and get in amazing shape. I'm soo nervous cause i've seen this team workout last year and they are all like super fast and strong and have great endurance. I don't wanna dissapoint my coach and make him think that picking me for this team was a bad choice. I'm going to run the mile altleast two times a day every day until camp and im gonna go to the soccer field and work on my skills and do sprints. Do you think this is enough. Oh god im soooooo nervous its killing me. I have zero confidence but i have got to believe in myself in order for this to work. Any suggestions on anything else i can do? And any nutrition that would be good for me?? Pleasee help thanks... Maddie Rose

Cool! My coach made me run Varsity last year as an 8th grader, but I got to go to Disney World, so it was a fair trade off! Feel free to ask me for advice, too!
uconnbball on 8/4/2010 11:39:05 PM
Hey! I love your profile! I also love the fact that you do xc. Are you JV or Varsity? What distance do you guys run? What's you PR? Sorry for all the questions, I just like to know what other runners are doing!
uconnbball on 8/2/2010 5:33:20 PM
Youre in my club!!!!!!!!! and you will be ranked as a pretty girl and can be moved up in rank. Also about what you should wear, i think a really cute sort of flowy tank top wold look pretty with simple jean shorts since you'll be sitting on the ground, also maybe gladiator sandals or flip flops because this is a more casual event. But for hair you should curl it. Try this technique, when you flip your curling iron upside down and wrap your hair around it it makes really pretty curls without being to fancy. As for jewlery try a bold statment necklace and keep the rest of your accesories simple. hope this helps !!!! lotsa love - olivia

hey i loved ur profile i need advice on running long distance. I really wanna join cross country this year- i did track last year in 7th grade and it was so much fun & i was really good at the 100 and 200. (not to be braggy) but I want to know some workouts on building your endurance and some tips. Thank you soooo much!!!
bubblemily on 7/16/2010 4:11:52 PM
Hey girl!! U askd about the new trends 4 next fall and now I'm finally gettin back 2 ya (sry it took so long, I was on vacay w/ my fam)!!! I read in a magazine that, "Strips, florals, graphic pronts and abstract designs are going to be big this fall. Jeans are always in, but this fall you'll want to look for denim w/ patches instead of the ripped jeans of the past. Bright and bbold or subtle and soft are the way to go for your shirts and blazers. Sheer fabric is in but don't wear it alone. It's not about the see-through look this season but is about layering, layering, layering." I hope this helps ya pick out ur back-to-school wardrobe!!!! If u have any more questions, plz feel free to leave a comment on my profile!!!! If the question is urgent write ***** @ the begining off the comment!!!!

Thank you! It must be the water, my dad makes me drink 64oz every day, and some times I finish it just before we leave. Thanks again !!!
Vivi on 7/12/2010 12:45:15 PM
Hey, another question LOL Okay, so for some reason, I always feel like I'm going to throw up after like, a mile. No matter how much of what I eat, no matter when I eat it, I always feel sick. What's up and how can I get over it? It's okay if there's not an answer, my dad runs and he doesn't know either.
Vivi on 7/10/2010 1:36:26 PM
Hey, I saw that u posted that you are going on a big shopping trip and that you want to know what some of the fall staples are going to be. Well as far as jeans go, skinny jeans and jeggings (leggings tht look like jeans) are very popular and really cute. I recomned getting them in a dark wash and pairing it with a cute flowy tank top. If your school doesn't let u wear tanks then u can put a little cartigan over it. They have really cute jeans at Aèropostale and they are really inexpensive. Haha sorry I wrote a lot. I have more stuff if u want it. Just let me know on my profile. Thanks
taylorlaunterfan117 on 7/9/2010 8:56:20 AM
Yeah. Good for you! If someone isn't worthy enough for your awesomeness, it's time to find a new guy. I actually haven't seen Pretty Little Liars but I've seen the commercials and it looks really interesting, like the kind of thing I'd like to watch. Some of my friends have read the books and I'd like to, too.
Runnergrrl16 on 7/8/2010 10:04:29 PM
That's awesome that you fouund $10. One time I was riding my bike and found a $20 bill on the side of my street! It was crazy! I've decided I'm going to break up with my BF since he can be really rude and obnoxious, and that's not the kind of guy I want to date.
Runnergrrl16 on 7/7/2010 1:21:45 PM
Thanx for the advice! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. So what's been going on in your life lately, besides sports? How are things with your BF? My relationship isn't working out too well...my guy can be a total jerk.
Runnergrrl16 on 7/5/2010 1:02:30 PM
Hey Thanks for commenting! That's really cool that you play soccer too. Are you on a travel team or do you play rec or just for the fun of it?? I can almost run without a limp so in like hopefully a week or two I'll be running full speed! For know I'm stuck walking.. Anyway thanks again! Maddie Rose
Sports4Life44 on 7/3/2010 11:29:34 PM
Hey I loveee your profile! And you give amazing advice!! I play basketball and soccer And I think that if I ran everyday during the Summer it would help build up my endurance so I can player longer! I saw that you gave one girl a program that your cross country teacher gave you and I think I'm going to give it a try once I get better. (Just got over a stress fracture in my right foot) Anyway comment back!
Sports4Life44 on 7/1/2010 1:11:37 PM
ehh we dont really go out to eat much, but mostly because we're so tired afterwards and because its too early. We have practice every morning at six am!!! It kind of sucks, but oh well Sometimes we go to sonic, but not often. We dont really do stuff alot as a team because we're not all that close since theres SO many people.
candygrl22 on 6/29/2010 12:13:31 AM
Yo CrossCountry I luv any running sports and i am gonna do CC again in the fall. this Spring i was in the mile for track (and i made the team too for middle school) and i was wondering if a 6:54 mi is really good for my first year in track. Wat is your best time? Ty

hey! im a great runner, short and long distances... but the thing is i HATE long distance, meaning i HATE cross country & i HATE the 800 and up in track... my dad loves long distance so he forces me to do those races but i always end up defending myself, which causes a huge fight... how do i get him to be on my side? ive tried everything also for high school i signed up for cross country in 2 out of 4 places... i signed up in 2 cuz i was forced 2 by my dad, but in the other 2 places my mom told me i didnt have to so i didnt sign up. well they are supposed to call i guess and see if we are still interested and i think i put down my dads personal number how do i get him to say no 2 the coaches?! reply 2 my profile plz

-ponyjumper Hey! A lot of the time I am unmotivated too but I keep telling mself that working out makes you stronger and healthier. I like to alternate every day with running and ab, leg, and arm work outs. I like top mix things up a little bit every week and try different things like jumping rope or running through the sprinkler, going to the pool, and talking walk or hikes to explore. Hope This Helps! -CrossCountry

ponyjumper on 6/20/2010 4:00:09 PM
Heyy. I thought that for me it was a little too much to start out with, especially when it's like 98 degrees outside. lol I expanded it over a longer time, 1/2 mile one week 1 mile the next week 1 1/2 miles the next week... etc. Also I run in the morning with my best friend who wants to start running too. Thanks for your help!!

Thanx for the lacrosse advice! Sorry this was sent late. I talked to some of my friends that play lacrosse and they said that they could help me practice and also that it's OK to join even tho I wasn't on the team last year. Hey, do you know any good brands of clothes that are sporty, cute, and good for running? I get really hot during cross-country...here in the south summer starts in May and ends in September! I am going to go to a special running store downtown where they analyze how you run to see the best running shoes for you, so that'll help me next year. Thanx for everything!

-countrygirlup I had that same problem too a couple of years ago. I always take my phone with me when I run now. I have to give a heads up to my parents before I run. Sometimes I run with a friend, others I take a sibling, or have my dad bike while I run. Maybe you can try some of these things too. Or ask your dad if he will drive you over to the closest track and he can sit and watch you run or he can read a book or the paper. Hope These Ideas Help! -CrossCountry

-RunnerRain Hey Girl! You need that post work out nutrition! When you run and jump rope you tear down muscle and you have to build it up with the nutrients that you get from food. Some things that I like top eat are bannanas, apples, oranges, grapes, tomatoes(I load mine up with salt so maybe not the most healthy Anything thats a fruit, vegtable, whole grain, lean meats, ans so on is going to keep you really healthy. Hope This Helped! -CrossCountry

Hey I'm trying to lose weight with running and jumping rope, so I've like not been eating afterwards. What do you think would be low calorie and low fat to eat after a run? And I typicly run like one mile and jumping rope 15 mins. every other day, and jumping rope 1 hour on the other days. BTW, whats some healthy meals that are super low calorie?? THX!!

-mintywonder22 Hey I think it is great that you are joining cross country! You could talk to your coach and see if he has any programs for you to do with some of the team. But I would just try to eat healthy and stay in shape. You should run and get a good amount of miles (try maybe seven miles a week) but as long as you don't go into cross country total out of shape you should have a very fun season. Hope This Helps! -CrossCountry
CrossCountry on 6/14/2010 6:36:42 PM
Dear crosscountry, im thinking of joining track(a.k.a. cross country) and im not really a big runner. But, ppl think i should join too...so what can i do so i can get better at running and hopefully make sectionals nxt year. (p.s. im only in middle school so it would be huge)kk :p
mintywonder22 on 6/14/2010 6:13:24 PM
-jjuke It's cool that you want to do track! I love that sport. It is really too bad that you can't do it at your own school. At my school we have a track team and we take in other girls from different schools who don't have a track team. You should look around at other schools close by that have track teams and try and join one of their teams if it is ok with your folks. Some of the kids in my grade are going to other schools to do lacrosse. On a differant note you could present your idea for a track team to your school board and see if they could try and get together a team for your school. Hope This Helped! -CrossCountry
