I heard you were afraid of plagiarism, so am i. My aunt (who's an undiscovered writer) taught me this trick: you mail it to yourself, but make sure to include the DATE you wrote it!

To avoid plajiarism etc., here is the poem I posted on Writers Club for my application to become head of poetry. I am entering it in some contest.

In melancholy silence I wait
Nobody stirs during nights reign
I only lay with my thoughts
protected by a curtain of darkness
Inside each tear upon my cheek
Memories of my ever faded past
My mind forever searching for something lost
It seems only I see the power
The power I have in my words, writing, and emotions.
Alone I embrace this power.
And I cry until the passion runs dry.
Yet it never seems to lessen.
When light kisses my sleeping face
I awaken from a dream
and yet I never slept
Only then do I realize:
A dream is not an illusion
A dream is a story written beneath your soul.
A dream is what I strive to be.

I go to a performing arts school, so near the beginning of the symester I tried out for a middle school short play production class! Cool, huh? I got in, but I have to deal with some friendly rivalry: in acting,singing,dancing, and writing. It doesn't bother me, but how can I shine and show the teacher i'm ready for a leading role?! Thanx!
