Hey girl I saw your comment about tampons. Trust me, the first few times I wanted to try them, I chicken out before I even got the applicator in! Here are a few things to let you know: 1. Your Aunt could have gotten Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) which is a rare but sometimes fatal disease in which bacteria in the tampon is released into the body. It is very, very rare, but you should NEVER leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours just to be on the safe side and use the tampon size you need. In other words, if your flow is somewhere between light and moderate, don't use a super tampon. 2. All boxes of tampons come with a sheet that has diagrams, instructions, and lots of information about TSS. Read through it carefully and follow the directions to make sure you do it right. 3. Tampons ARE really great because it makes you feel nice and dry. You don't even feel them inside you. They're great for working out and gym class and on heavier days of your period. 4. You still have to use a pad with your tampon, because they almost always leak. But you only have to wear a thin pad, something thicker than a Dri Liner but thinner than an Overniter! Good luck!!!
