Every Sunday

In the beginning it was playful smiles

Every week was full of delight

Shifty eyes brought you to my attention

Known you forever, noticed you now

Every sign pointed in the right direction

You were so nice, so kind

So friendly, so open

Six months in everything seemed perfect

Flawless attempts at impressing you

Enchanting icebreakers

Nothing could be wrong

You became cold

You deleted me from your life

Small comments on what you thought was fine

Rude remarks and jealous stares

Literally cutting me out

Ignorant of my pain

A whole day dedicated to suffering

A whole year of thoughts for you

Has everything become worthless?

A waste of time

Has every Sunday just been a game to you?

That I lost
