So, last summer this boy he is 15 just talked to me and I was 12 at the time. So it was a summer event going on in my neighborhood so we just talked and bonded and then he started coming to my house and ringing the bell a lot asking me to come outside. I would talk to him, but all of a sudden a few weeks later he was not talking to me or saying hello or being polite just ignoring any type of contact with me. So I asked him was i being mean to you as a friend? if so im sorry. He just was like i sometimes dont say hi, which is a bold face lie. Okay so next year (this current 2013 year) in spring i ran into him while talking a walk with my uncle, and my uncle gave him a handshake, and i reached out my hand to give the boy a handshake and he opened up his arms and hugged me! I think it was a form of sorry.. Does he like me?

I'm not sure if he likes you or just wants to be friends--he might have just wanted to hug you because you hadn't seen each other in a while, which was exciting for him. If you want to get to know him again, maybe you could spend time with him as friends and see how he acts around you then to get a better sense of whether or not he likes you.

Ok well I kind of like 2 guys. There's one I have liked since like September, but he kinda/sorta has a gf. They're like broken up every other week and she doesn't go to our school and everyine says that she cheats on him all the time. But, he's super nice and sporty and talks to me a lot (we have 4 classes together) and he flirts with me and other people are always saying he's flirting with me, but I'm afraid to ask him out because 1) his girlfriend? and 2) the other guy I kinda like. i've never talked to the other guy, but he's super cute and one of his friends said he likes me. He looks at me all the time and I like them both but I'm confused. Sorry its sooo long!!!! Any help is appreciated!

Hey! I would rule out guy 1 because face it: he's taken. Getting involved would just start drama and I think you'd regret it in the end. Getting to know the other guy has much more potential. ;) good luck!

I have this friend who Is not a good example and she insulted my family in my Own house and she curses and resorts to violence. She was like that last year too but I didn't realize i would get worse or She would rub off on me. I don't know what to do and I am extremely nice. Maybe you could talk to her about respecting your family when she comes over, or try to talk to her nicely and say that you don't like when she's unkind to you. She might want attention, so maybe you could try complimenting her on something nice, too! If that doesn't work, you could talk to your mom or guidance counselor about how to best handle the situation.

I know it might be awkward to talk to your parents, especially if you've never dated anyone before, but if you want to date someone and you can't drive yet, they are going to have to find out at some point anyway! Even though it might be difficult to bring up the conversation, they'll appreciate that you trusted them enough to talk about it. And they have dating experience, so they'll have great advice!

You will have to wear the silver since it's your sister's wedding and she gets to call the shots, but if you're worried about looking washed out maybe you could use a self tanner or bronzer. Congrats to your sis!

So There is this girl at my school and she hates me and I have no idea why. My friends say she is jellous of me becuase I won the music scholarship for singing and she didnt. But in gym today she grabed me and shoved me to the ground. I stood up and she was about to strike me in the face but i punched her in the stomach so she wouldnt. It sounds like you were surprised and wanted to defend yourself, but the teachers probably did have to punish you since you hurt her and she didn't hurt you (even if you thought she was going to). It sounds like you should go to your school's guidance counselor and explain the situation. They'll be able to help you work through the situation and will also have advice on how to deal with this girl and work things out with her. In the meantime, try being nice to her and complimenting her (even though it will be hard, it might make her be nice to you!).

ok so im in 8th grade and a guy who likes me is in 6th grade. He told some of my friends that he was going to ask me out. i like him and all but what about the age difference?? Would it just be weird or akward. Hes really a nice guy kind,sweet, funny, cute etc.. but im not supposed to date till high school so what should i do?? wouldn't it be even weirder for a 9th grader to date a 7th grader?? Two years might be a big deal, especially when you're young, but if you know him really well and think he's mature, there's no harm in giving him a chance. But if you're not allowed to date until high school, that's a bigger problem! You don't want to go against your parents' wishes, so stay friends with him for now and then talk to your parents about dating him when you're allowed next year. You might feel differently by then, so there's no need to worry about it now!

I fear balls. This is really embarrassing. I can't play basketball, volleyball... I get very anxious before gym class. I don't know how to deal with it.

Hey! I think the best way to handle your fear at this point would be to talk to someone you trust about it. A close friend, teacher, parent, or counselor maybe. Once you're able to share your fears and talk about them openly, you'll be able to work with this person on challenging this fear. When you're ready start playing catch with them in a place where you feel safe and comfortable. As your hand-eye coordination improves you'll feel more confident in gym class and be more open to try new sports. I really hope this helps you!

There is this guy that likes me and I like him back too. We slow danced ( kinda like a hug ) and smiled at each other a bunch. We stayed with each other even if you had to find a different partner. ( slow dance game ) My friend told me he looked really happy. A couple weeks after, we haven't talked or anything but he is kinda nervous around me and I catch him staring at me time to time. So I figured he still liked me. We haven't really made a move on each other since the dance.. I went to our schools game and he was in the stands but I noticed some other girl in the stands leaning into his legs. I was cheering so I could see the whole thing but it made me sad and uncomfrontable.. he stared at me the whole time at the game and does it every game. One of his best girl friend told me that he woou8ldn't go out with that girl who was in the stands, cause she talks to him all the time. ( this is true ) I am so confused if he still likes me or not! I am not sure if he still likes you or not, but it sounds like there is a good chance he does! Try hanging out with him as friends more and see how he acts around you. You could also ask him to dance with you next time you have a dance!

If you're not sure how he feels, there's no rush to do anything, so you could try getting to know him as friends and see how he acts around you to get a better sense of whether or not he likes you. If you want to ask for his number, that would give you another way to communicate and get to know each other as friends, too.

i saw your comment about wanting to run 5k but have weak ankles... I know what you are going through. But it is possible. my ankles are EXTREMELY weak, but if you build yourself up...I run cross country currently with no ankle supports what so ever. just make sure you have good quality, ankle supporting running shoes, and get just regular tennis shoes that support ankles, they help a ton! also, get lace up ankle supports to start, and wean off of them eventually. this may sound weird, but run on grass, hills, uneven stuff other than streets or tracks, they just tend to screw up my ankles lol. and the unevenness builds the strength. some exercises for ankles would be balancing on one legfor a while, and when you get good at that, try that on a couch cushion. good luck!

Hi, remember tht adivice ya gave me on my cuticles from that advice post about video games? Yeah..My mom already knows, she did take me to her colleage who studies about stress and they said I should put a bandaid on my cuts so I can't peel it, I should also when I'm about to, someone should be there to distract me from peeling my cuts more, but the BEST thing to do is to keep your mouth or hands busy, now I chew gum all the T:ME! It helps but how long does it take? My mom said, it depends on how well you take care of you skin, I got a cut once on my hand when tripping on my shoelace on basketball practice, it healed fully in a month! UGH! Will it take that LONGGGG!?? Plz reply, you are very helpful! Thanks in advance GL!

That's a great idea, maybe you could even set up a study session together! You don't have to ask him out to get his number, and it will help you be closer friends! If you get along well, I'm sure he'd be happy to give it to you

If he's not mean to your friends, then there's no reason not to talk to him (just don't let his swearing be a bad influence on you!) If you talk to him that's good (but you should pay attention in class!), and there's no need to rush anything so if you keep talking as friends for now, you will see how he is and if a dance or something comes up you could always ask him to dance with you there!

Age can be a big factor when you're younger, but if your parents are fine with you going to the party and being with him, there's no reason not to ask him to skate with you! Even if nothing happens, you'll at least get to know each other and become friends. Have fun at the party

I don't think you would lose your friendship if you didn't go to her school--if you've been apart for two years and withstood the friendship then, you can certainly withstand not being at the same school in the future! Talk to your parents about what school is right for you, and make sure your friend knows you'll be there for her no matter the distance. She'll understand that you have to do what's right for you!

Hi. I need some help. My skin is like really pale and I get pimples a lot. Try using an OTC product with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. If that doesn't help, talk to your parents about seeing a dermatologist for pro advice. Tons of people get pimples, and they are treatable with the right medication!

If you want to be friends and potentially more, the easiest thing to do would be to start by being friends! Next time you are at your brothers' game or practice, talk to him about school or how the game's going. Once you start talking, you can see where things go from there!

If he has a girlfriend, you can't go for him until they're broken up. Even if he says he likes you, he has to have some feelings for her since they're together! If you were his girlfriend, would you want him to say that to another girl? The best thing to do is to stay friends for now, and if they do break up later, hang out with him if you still like each other.

Since you are still young, your skin and body are still growing and developing, and right after you work out isn't going to be when you look your freshest, which is fine and understandable! No one looks great after a good workout, so be happy that you're healthy and use that as your focus for the day
