hey musiclover95! i just saw your comment on my profile about my scoliosis. my spine actually moved back from the curve it was in. it used to be a 23.9 degree curve and has moved to like 10.3degree curve. i was suprised to hear how big your curve was and i bet your back hurt alot after surgery. just to answer your questions i live in Washington, am 13(will be 14 in june though), i will be a freshman next year, and my name is Morgan.

Yeah I'm doing an ensemble April 9 with two clarinets the band as a whole doesn't compete but there s a marching band rung where a bunch of marching bands come together and play and it is THE COOLEST thing ever I get to participate next year and our band goes to Disney world to play for a week the trip is pricey. Good thing I have a loving grandma! Lol . I can't wat for marching band!!!!

nice of u to check in Smile .. im pretty upset cuz i went to the hospital the other day and had to stay there all day because it turns out im going to need a brace 4 two yrs. 22 hours a day for 2 years. its feels like a death sentence. im going to have to wear the boston brace? and my curve is something like 18 degrees i think. im soooo upset. my dr told me if i didnt wear the brace id need surgery some time in the next 2 yrs. i dont wannna wear it!!!! Frown so sad.. if uve got any advice or words of wisdom id love to hear it lol Tong
ps. ive been doin my research and did u no tht shailene woodley from the secret life had to wear a brace?? i was shocked!!! IM SO SCARED.. Frown

Lucky. We got 2 of our songs last week of August and the other one last week. Half the time my section isn't even playing because the band director is working with the trumpets or some other section. It gets really boring at times like those.

hey yesterday was our first competition. in our division there were only five but we got 4th. since it was our first one we weren't expecting to do any better than that anyway. but i am now am positive that my crush likes me back. all i have to do now is get him to admit it but i have no idea how to do so. hes not all that big on admitting things like most guys.

Ahaha. Yeah I don't practice that much either, but the flute part is always relatively easy, just a bunch of arpeggios or scales. No big deal. But for some reason the brass and sax always need a lot of work O.o Maybe it's just my band. And songs always need some practice. Our songs need A LOT of practice because all of them are sounding terrible at the moment.

Nice Smile We start our instruments in 5th grade but I started playing flute in 3rd. And our band really IS that bad because nobody practices except a couple of people. It's sad. I take it your band isn't like that?

we are doing good also. our first competition is this Saturday in marshal Minnesota so i am excited for that. then the next Saturday we are hosting Star fest and im kinda excited for that except the fact that i have to be there from 7 in the morning to 10:00 at night without being able to go home at all. in order to get ready for saturday we had a 2 hour rehearsal last night and i feel sorry for the brass players because we were playing for most of the 2 hours. anyway i hope you do good at all of your other competitions.

Yeah, Blue Lake is really big at our school. And our band is seriously bad. Unless I'm totally tone deaf, I'm pretty sure we're not good. And that's cool that the grade school has a good band. I doubt that it's better than your school's though. They never are.

the only other sport i play is bowling and i do that every saturday when i don't have a compitition and if i make it onto the team for my school then i will be doing it tuesdays too i think. and yes bowling is a sport.

That's cool. Almost nobody in my school got into symphonic winds. Only one guy named Aaron and a girl called Arianna. I'm hoping I'll make it in next year but who knows. And thanks, auditions went pretty well. Didn't mess up too bad. How many people are in your band? I'm curious to know if there's a lot of competition for spots or if it's pretty relaxed.

actually once you get used to it it's not that bad ya it gets you tired after awhile especially since we have an eight hour school day after that but you get used to it. our third movement is hard too and we have to have it memorized by this friday so we can march and play it at the football game that hopefully the football players will do better at than the first two games of the season losing by soo much but.... the songs that we are playing are Rhapsody intro which is introducing Rhapsody in blue and Bohemian Rhapsody, that is our 1st movement, our second movement is Rhapsody in blue and then our 3rd movement is Bohemian Rhapsody and then we play our school song and that is our halftime show but for our the pre-game we do auld lang syne, the star-spangled banner, we play the school song. so that is what we do for dthe home football games.

Bands going pretty well, although it sometimes is a bore because half of the time we don't even play the music because we're learning how to count notes :p
But...Wind Ensemble auditions are tomorrow!! I'm so excited for it to start!! Sorry, starting to rant there. Do you have an advanced band in your school or is it just band/marching band?
