I have hair that is right above my shoulders and is layered. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it differently? I usually scrunch it or occasionally I'll straighten it. I just want something new. It also is helpful to have a hairstylist mommy!!! ;)

hey again! umm I wanna wear makeup but my mom tends to think im a lil young! I turned 13 at the end of June and im going into 8th grade in 3 weeks. I dont wanna wear alot because my skin is smooth and i have no pimples and plus im kinda a tomboy. BUT i just wanna wear some stuff to cover the bags under my eyes and some eyeliner because im gonna wear contacts for the first time when school starts and i want my eyes 2 pop u know? I have eyeliner and blush and lipstick fromm a school concert i was in. I wore it at school once without my mom knowing but i dont wanna do it behind her back again! What should i say when i ask her if i can wear just a lil bit of it??

Hey girlie, why dont you try explaining that you want to wear makeup to hide the bags because they make you feel insecure tell her your not trying to be too grown but your trying increase your self esteem. Tell her you only want subtle natural looking makeup.

Okay so I am 13,weigh 140(and 100% healthy),5'8 and Puerto Rican. I have a typical Puerto Rican girls body..small stomache and thick thighs and a booty. Not to gloat or anything but guys and girls both tell me that I'm pretty and have beautiful hair and skin and like I said not to gloat...but I do. Most of the girls in my school are pretty much Puerto Rican,Dominican,or Colombian and they are always saying that I have a nice body and that they're jealous. Sometimes I feel like I'm fat and that people just say stuff like that to me just because they don't wanna be rude or hurtful. I excercised at least 5 times a week and tried to eat healthy and nothing changed. I was once bulimic and sometimes still have relapses but I was kinda learning how to accept my body with the support of my Best Friend. I just need some advice on how to look at my body as a gift instead of a piece of crap!

Hey Tatti, we only get one body!!! what we do and how we think of it matters greatly!! If you don't like your body nobody will like your body. Confidence is always the best accessory. Love your body!! your opinion is the most important opinion. find something to love about your body and love it. you can start doing daily affirmations like I'm beautiful and my body is beautiful because it is mine and mine I alone.

hey this is my first year going into highschool!! The previous year, I've had some issues well a BIG issue with me not completing my homework!! I read the study tips, but I have a bad habit of being lazy now a days. It's like every year the first and second marking periods I do great, but then the next two marking periods I get really lazy and idk wut to do!!! Hey girl, Nobody knows when you'll get your period and different girls get the signs at different times. It's a normal part of a girl's life. Just be prepared with a pad or two if that makes you feel better. Just remember that every girl goes through this; while it may seem weird to you, there is nothing to be worried about, and it doesn't hurt or anything!

Hey i saw your post on girl talk ...... i love helping people and giving advice !!!!!! so heresw what i think.....when i got my period i was embarrased to tell my mom but i told her and it was all fine ....she didnt tell my dad ( i think )lol ...but once you tell her everything will be fine....i am sure she will be happy to help because one day she was in the same position too you ...... its normal to feel this way and i dont want a lot of people to know because i got mine recently ...just dont be afraid to tell her and maybe when u tell her ask her if she can keep it a secret ! if anybody has aany questionsjust come to my profile and post something ..and i will help you at as soon as i can !!!!! Hey girlie, you should def. respect your mom's feelings and rules. You should express to her why you wish to try tampons ex. pads are uncomfortable, you can't go swimming while on your period, pads aren't sufficiently shielding your underwear. Listen to what your mom has to say but also clearly express your feeling as well and ask her to hear you out.

Hey girlie the best time to workout, if you workout outside is either early in the morning or after the sun goes down so it is cool preventing heat exhaustion. I'm told that eating before breakfast early in the morning is the best time to workout.

Hey gurlie, I recommend getting some extra moisturizing skin cream for intense dry skin and apply about twice a day that should help I had the same issue and this is the method I used to resolve it.
