I know you asked this a while ago but here's how to do a smokey eye :
-first, you need 3 different shades of eyeshadow. they should be similar colors.
for a subtle smokey eye, i recommend brown, a lighter shade of brown, and a light champagne color (: for a bold smokey eye, you could try black, grey, and white, or just clashing colors. you need a dark color, a medium color, and a light color.

-put the medium color all over your lids.
-put the darkest color in the outer corner of your lids and in the crease. blend the edges of the medium and dark colors together so its less noticeable.
-put the lightest color near your tear ducts, in the inner corners of your eyes. also put this color right under your brows
