Hey Ashley! Our Nutcracker performances went really well, but the dress rehearsal was TERRIBLE. We had to run the show twice cuz the first time was so bad!!!!!! They didn't have a lot of the technical stuff worked out so we had a lot of pauses and stuff, and it just went better the second time! But the shows were good! I'm sad that it's all over. It's gonna be weird not having practice this weekend! We're reading Romeo and Juliet later this year, and we're also gonna be reading The Odyssey. I've heard The Odyssey is TERRIBLE and really boring. I guess I'll have to find out! I liked To Kill a Mockingbird though... it's a really good book! If I don't talk to you before then, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!! Any plans? We are going back to Wisconsin and therefore having an "early Christmas" at our house on Sunday, when we'll give each other our gifts. Normally it's not my favorite thing in the world, just cuz it's not ON X-mas, but this year I'm getting some presents I REEEEEEEEEALLY want so I can't wait!! TTYL! Jenna

Hey Girl! We JUST got done reading To Kill a Mockingbird in my English class--we actually finished it last night for homework! YAY! It's a VERY good book but it just got tiring having Eng. homework every night, so now hopefully it'll lay off a little bit. We haven't read Of Mice and Men, but the English 10 classes did. I'm probably gonna go into Honors Eng. next year though, so Idk if I'll ever read it. Was it good? We sometimes have to write essays, but not very often. We've only written one this year, and it was a persuasive one. She had a number of topics regarding To Kill a Mockingbird and we could choose one and pick a side and persuade people to join it. I got a 100%! Guess what? We have a snow day today!!!!!!!! Yeah! <3 And our show for the Nutcracker is this Saturday!!!!!!!!

my school has like 550 kids...but it starts at pre-kindergarten so at least half of the kids in school are below 6th grade. my grade has 55 people in it...the ninth grade only has 21 (16 girls and 5 boys). i think you should definitely try out track...it's really fun...it was weird for me i didn't want t ostart because of what grade i'm in, but i quickly became really good friends with this girl who was one year older than me and she had been on the team before, so she kinda "showed me the ropes".

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one too! I thought it was SAD! Cool! Sounds like fun! Good luck! (Or as we dancers say, break a leg . Not literally!) --Winter Formal was last night but I didn't go, because I had Nutcracker practice. I'm kinda glad I didn't go actually. My friends that were there said it was kind of a waste of time and a lot of other people said so too. Besides, I'm not a dress girl, AT ALL, so I'm glad I didn't have to go out and buy a dress!!

the day before our break we have this all school performance thing...each grade sings a song or does a dance or something. i go to a school that goes from kindergarten to 9th grad eso the little kids are so cute! plus...we get out at 12 that day. i like the idea of the 'break before break'. i never go sledding, it's hard to in the city where i live. what instrument do you play for band? that's cool that you play volleyball. i am so bad at voleyball we always have to play in gym class and i actually really like it, but i never do anything right. my mom keeps telling me how i should be good at volleyball because i'm really tall and have huge hands and i'm like 'thanks mom'. i'm also not good at basketball which is another surprise because i'm tall. really i'm only good at field hockey and running. you should totally do track...it's really fun especially if you have friends on the team but either way its amazing. i wanted to do it last year for the first time but was nervous t o start when everyone else in my grade would have been on the team for a year already. so...i convinced one of my bff's (who happens to be bascically the least athletic person i know) to do it with me...she says she hated it but i think she just won't admit to me that she had fun. but...i made a ton of friends in the team so even if your friends don't do it with you it will still be really fun. also, my field hockey team is like my second family (atleast most of the people). i'm closest to a couple people on the team and i think it's the best way to make friends in other grades. actually, it's wierd because at field hockey my closest friends are all a year younger than me (and one's a year older) the girls in my grade who are on the team really aren't all that nice. so...wat else is up with you?

OMG, yes, I BAWL in movies! I cried in the movie Up, for Gosh sakes! I just thought it was so sad at the beginning--like when they showed that "montage" or whatever and his wife died... so sad! I cried so hard, I felt like such an idiot! lol! I also bawl in movies such as A Walk to Remember and My Sister's Keeper... AWTR is my favorite movie EVER! The Blind Side wasn't really as sad as it was sweet... it's such a nice movie! Anything else new with you?

i'm in 8th grade... i live in the city, so whenever it snows it's so ridiculously messy outside, snow looks so pretty at first, but then it just becomes gross and disgusting. so...what else is new? my school gets out for christmas break in 3 weeks!!! do you have anything at school that you LOVE? i love chorus... what's weird about me is that for performing of any sort i get super nervous performing in front of like 20 people, but if i'm in front of hundreds of people i don't get nervous at all. do you play sports? my field hockey season, so now i have track to look forward to in the spring!

Cool! We have a fake tree, just cuz in South Dakota (unless you go out to the Black Hills), there aren't really very many places to cut down pine trees. LOL. And we've always just had a fake one anyway. How was your weekend? We were in Omaha and last night we saw The Blind Side, which was AMAZING. I loved it! I've had 5 days off of school now so I am NOT ready to go back!

My thanksgiving was very fun! I went to this event at the mall at midnight and got like a bunch of clothes! My sister had to carry it 4 me! The sales were like 70% off at each store. I got shoes from nike, 12.00 abrecromibe shirts and a jacket from Pac sun 4 20.00! I also had a big feast with my fam! how was ur thanksgiving? comment back samantha

haha omg i've been thinking of that too!! i used to do yoga a lot. i'm thinking of doing 5-10 minutes of yoga in the morning and 5-10 minutes and night. i know one morning routine called the 'sun salutation'. it's very popular.

oh...i'm still not sure where i want to live when i'm older. my crush is from minnesota, but i'm not sure where. wow! it sounds like winters get pretty cold, i live in boston so it doesn't get that cold, i can't remember any times in the past few years where it has gotten below 0 degrees. i'm really not a fan of winter i would be so much happier if it was summer weather all year round. is there also a lot of snow in wisconsin? hey...what grade are you in???

LOL! Yes, pumpkin pie is good! I ate a lot too--I wasn't even hungry for breakfast this morning! My mom is SUCH a good cook! We spent Thanksgiving at our own house this year and just hung out, because we're going back to the Milwaukee area for Christmas. We had a nice day. We even decorated the Christmas tree!! It looks really pretty! How about you? Well, I gotta go. wow girly thanks!! i will give some a try!! i found this routine where you pick any of your fav 15 moves- do them each for one minute ( like jump roping) then do that cycle over again. it's really fun and you don't have to do the same move(s) over and over again!! and yes i do have a wii, but i get bored with my games haha

Yeah To Kill a Mockingbird is a really good book. At first it starts off really boring, but the further into it it gets it gets a lot better. We're at the beginning of Part Two and the trial is about to start. No, I have not seen New Moon. I'm not really into Twilight! I'm about the only person on earth who's not, but for some reason it just doesn't interest me! Me and my friend Emily are like the only two people I know who aren't obsessed with it! So what's new with you? I had Nutcracker practice from 9 am till 2 pm today with one one-hour break and then me and my mom ran some errands.... I had it last night AND I have it for 1/2 an hour tomorrow too!

Hey Ashley! Do you mind if I talk to you for just a minute? So there's this guy I like. His name's Alex. He's kinda sorta friends with Brextyn, only he's nicer. Well anyway, I like him. I just recently started to. I think it's kinda cuz I'm SORTA getting the vibe that he likes me, but yet I always do and like none of the guys ever do. But this time it's different. In Interp the other day we had to choose our groups for these readers theaters we're doing for Christmas if we're not doing second season, and I ended up going with my friends Katie and Ashlynn and some other girls. But it was so weird, cuz those two and HIM were fighting over me!!!!!!!!!! Cuz Alex chose this one about a radio station in Texas (we're doing one about this like family in Texas) and he wanted me in his group cuz, and I quote, "JENNA HAS SUCH A DYNAMIC VOICE AND SHE'D BE GREAT FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!" and then he's like, "We call Jenna!" and K and A are like, "NO, WE DO!" and they were like fighting over me.... as much as I hate to admit it, I kinda liked it. lol. And that probably very well could be the reason he wanted me in his group but I like to think it's something more... sounds foolish, right? And then he looked really disappointed when I chose K and A, even though I sorta wish I would've gone with Alex... And he always talks to me and flirts with me and I flirt back (like today) and forgive me if this sounds REALLY cheesy, but whenever I look into his eyes my heart skips a beat. Like tonight at confirmation I caught him looking at me (several times) and I looked back and the "gaze" got so strong that I had to turn away!!!!!!! Even I was like, what the heck? So Idk... I'm just really confused and if I COULD go to Winter Formal I would ask him but I can't so... UGH! Thanks for letting me talk to you! I know how much you like giving advice! The show is December 12th. I can't wait! I know what you mean. I have dance tonight at 7:45, and I LOVE jazz, but I don't really feel like going, cuz it's Dancing with the Stars results night (LOL! GO MYA!) and it's just so dark and cold out! Plus my brother has a basketball game afterwards that I really don't wanna go to... I usually have to record DWTS on Tuesdays, but I ESPECIALLY have to tonight! (As you can see, I revolve my life around reality TV LOL!) They announce who makes the finals! I used to play piano, but I quit at the end of 6th grade. I kinda wanna join again though! OMG, don't you just HATE how early it gets dark in the winter? It's 6:02 pm as I type this and it's already pitch black! It gets dark at like 5:00!

Nutcracker is going really well! Thanks for asking! Our show is 4 weeks from yesterday and it still could use a lot of work, but it's coming along. Flowers looks MUCH better than Russian though. I will say that. And I'm also an "Arabian helper", because the Arabians do this really cool disappearing thing with curtains and the Russians have to hold the curtains for them. I have practice Friday night, like half the day Saturday, AND for half an hour on Sunday. I'm getting excited for the show!! OMG! Sounds like you had fun! You must be tired! Last night my brother was at his friend's house and my dad was out of town so it was just me and my mom, and so my mom took me to the movie store and I rented A Walk to Remember and watched it for like the thousandth time. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!! It is like my all-time fave! I ALWAYS, ALWAYS cry, no matter what! And it seems like every time I watch it I cry harder and sooner! lol! Idk what it is! But it's SUCH a good movie... have you seen it? Idk why I don't own it, but it's probably a good thing that I don't because I can't handle that movie anymore! LOL! It's too sad!

I have a few though: I LOVE tae-bo dvds (it's my thing, try it out if you want!) and i have this wii game called 'my fitness coach' and you can workout on that. i always get lots of indoor workouts from GL (or course!) and seventeen

OMG!!!!! YOU WENT OUT FOR THE DANCE TEAM?????? YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!! LOL! I thought about going out for the dance team, seeing as I dance and all, but I decided not to because a) the auditions last year for this year were the WORST possible week for me, b) the coach lives in my neighborhood and she is NOT my favorite person, and c) It was too much of a time commitment. I have other stuff to do! I might go out at the end of this year for next year though... The state tournament is tomorrow at my school and me and my mom were gonna go watch but I have Nutcracker half the day so we probably won't now. We'll see! Good luck with all your stuff though! lol! Have fun at your mom's candle party! I LOVE smelling candles, but we can't light them very often cuz they irritate my dad and my brother's allergies. Darn! I had a long week too, even though we had off in the middle of the week. Today was SOOOOOOO boring!

Hey Ashley! I haven't heard from you in a while! What's up? Nothing too new here... had a good Halloween... can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already! OMG! This year just flew by... I can't believe it's November 4th! I remember January 4th (that's cuz I went tubing with my friends and it was a BLAST) like it was yesterday! lol! And now it's almost Jan. 4th AGAIN! So what's new? Our first quarter ended on Friday and now we're halfway through the semester! OMG! This school year is flying by already too! Before you know it we'll be done with freshmen year and moving on to sophomores! Idk how it is at your school but at mine no one seems to care about sophomores! lol! Seriously! Like seniors you know, they're the big dogs, and juniors it's like, "oh cool, you're a junior? You're almost a senior!" and the freshmen it's like, "hi little (even though we're not little) frosh's!" and soph.'s it's like, "ehhh." LOL! Maybe that's just my school! Speaking of school, I don't like Brextyn anymore... Idk why, that "relationship" that never was just kinda ran it's course. Idk if I really like anyone now. There's this one kid who I'm really good friends with and I kinda like him but Idk if I like him like that... it's really confusing! It's girls ask guys to the Winter Formal this year but I can't go cuz that's the week before Nutcracker and of course we'll have an uber-long practice that night. Yeah I can't WAIT till prom! I've always dreamed of going there, ever since I was little, so I can't WAIT! I'm not really a glitzy kind of girl, I don't wear make up and I'm NOT a huge fan of dresses AT ALL, but for prom, it'll be fun! OMG! You should totally go out for it! Seems to me like you'd have a pretty good chance! And if your friend said most everyone makes it, unless you're really bad, you'll probably get on the team. And you sound good to me. So go for it! Oh yeah, I know what you mean. The principal of my high school is SOOOOOOOO hilarious! I love him soooooo much! Anyway though, he HATES dances so he is overjoyed when he doesn't have to chaperone them. LOL. He didn't have to chaperone the Homecoming dance this year cuz it was booster-club sponsored so he was excited! lol! Idk about the Halloween dance--all I know is he won't be there! I wish I could go but I feel like I have to go to Nutcracker! The show is December 12th, which seems far away, but it's really not! It's closer than we think! I can't WAIT till junior year and I can go to prom! It's gonna be so much fun! Unless I get asked by an older guy before then, which is highly unlikely, considering the luck I have with guys my own age. So WHATEVA! We have Winter Formal and this year it's December 4th but of course that's the week before Nutcracker and we're gonna have practice that night so I HAVE to go. UGH! OH WELL!

Most of my friends, as far as I know, aren't going and I have Nutcracker practice for dance that night anyways. So I think I'll just sit that one out. Does your school have a Halloween dance? Tonight me and my brother skipped confirmation and my parents took us to the Haunted House!!!!!! We were gonna go last weekend but then me and my mom ended up going to the Mall of America instead. And this weekend doesn't work. So my mom gave in and let us skip and we had a blast. This one dude scared me SO bad! We went to the Corn Maze a few weeks ago...
