Hello there, I saw your comment about you wanting to start a book club. I suggest reading some of John Green's novels (Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars.) He is simply one of the best YA authors out there. His books are ideal for high school book clubs because they are both funnily likable and deep in terms of symbolism and theme. Characters are interesting, dialogue is sharp, and ideas are original. What's not to like?

Ps you can also just put in some music and rock out! But it's your decision and if you wanna decide on your own make a list of everyone you think just HAS to be at your party. Less than 5 or 6(maybe pushing it) than have the party at your house and think of stuff you and your friends would just love to do. If less than choose a movie. Hope you have a great birthday!

I would have it at your house, but think of some exciting activities to do. like for example, look through the movies you own and see if theres anything you guys might wanna watch. or if you have puffy paint tell your friends to bring shirts and then puffy paint them! good luck!

Hey it would be great if you could help me with my guy problem! So I'm a freshman in high school and I like a senior. Yes, I did just say senior. All my friends think I have absolutly no chance with him! He really doesn't look like one and when I started liking him I had no idea he was a senior. Also, he isn't the type of guy that would look at me and be like there is no way I would go out with a freshman. I REALLY like this guy. He has eveything I could ever want in a guy, the problem is next year he is going to college. Which means I have to make my move as soon as possible. I'm sure that if we like each other enough we could keep the relationship going even while he's in college. Every time I try to talk to him I can't find the words to say anything, I can't think of ANYTHING to say! I just stare at him stupidly. I really want to be able to talk to him do you have any tips? He is doing this bible study Wednesday morning and it would be great if I could talk to him like a normal person. Also, do you think I'm crazy to like a senior? I don't think so, but by the way my friends have reacted when I told them I'm starting to have doubts. Do I have a chance?

First off, happy birthday!
You could do a variety of things for your birthday. Maybe if youre into sleepovers you could invite a bunch of your girl friends over for a slumber party! then while your at the party have everyone bring a favorite game or movie to watch! Another idea is you could tie dye t shirts as a great way to remember your party! Also try games like twister and water balloon fights. You could also try makeovers and blindfolded makeovers (: Have a great party girlie and happy early birthday!

Hey girlie my sweet 16 is next Friday and here is what ill be doing maybe you can do something similar. I am have my best friends over about 4 maybe 6 of them and we are going to hang out at my house and have a paint balloon fight and then we are going to go to the mall for a while then we are going ice skating i found a rink about a half hour from my house about $7 a person if you don't want anything like that you could go to the movies or have a sleepover or you could have a party at your house and invite your classmates.

I was going to do this for my birthday and it sounds really fun.

You could take as many friends as you want to the mall, and do a mall scavenger hunt.

Before the party, one of your parents would make a list of things you must find at the mall such as signs, or a certian brand of shoe. Then, you and your friends would break up into even temas and look around the mall for those items, the prove that they saw them by taking a picture. The object of this is obviously to find all the items on the list before the other team/teams.
Also, have an agreed spot where u meet when u find all the items on your scavenger hunt list, and have a parent wait there.

This way, you can invite all the friends you want, and there wont be much of a theme, so all your friends from all different gruops and all of them will prob like it.

About the freshman year advice...
Some of the classes are kinda far apart but most teachers are cool about being late for the first week. I would memorize your schedule really well during the first week or carry it w/ you.
Also, you can carry binders and stuff for a few classes if it's not too much. The lockers wont b too far though. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR LOCKER COMBO.

hey!! i saw your comment on the vegify your summer article. well, heres my advice:

you said you like poetry. well how about copying down a poem you wrote or a poem you like (your fave poem) on a big piece of paper in fancy writing? you could hang it on your wall.

i redecorate my room almost every month, but i dont spend any $. i take my drawing pad and make my name in cool fancy bubble letters, and my wall is covered in my drawings. but if you arent really a drawing person, you could use pictures. pictures of (just an example) u and your dog, cat, or your family or friends, or something that makes you happy.

for your love of books, why dont you set up a little book shelf with the books you like to read? im a book worm too.

sometimes, when my room starts looking dull, i move some furniture. i mean, not the heavy stuff, but my dresser or something like that. change is good.

corkboard! (did i spell that write?lol) i love corkboards- you can put up poems you wrote, pic of you and your friends, really. corkboards are great.

Yeah I have heard that it doesn't hurt much. There is only one part that I'm super scared of and that is the needle to numb your mouth. Does the needle hurt? Do you even feel it? I'm like terrified of needles. =(

hey thank you for the advice :] i think you're right, i probably should tell my mom, but im too afraid .. her reaction ... she'd be disapointed in me, and embarassed that her daughter is so .. dirty, i guess you could say. anyways, my other friend went through the same thing and she didn't tell her mom and when she got a new phone the people didn't say anything. and it's in the past for me now i'm over it, so if i can get away with my mom not finding out that would be good. do you think i should tell her or wait and see if when i get a new phone it DOES happen where the people say something ???

H! Saw your post about how u want to re-decorate your room! First, I would nicely ask your parents if they could buy some stuff for you. Discuss what u wld like to buy. If they say no, and u wouldn't mind spending your own $, suggest that to them. If they still say no, discuss what you would like to do, and what they would allow you to do.
Some ideas:
*Try rearranging furniture. You'd be surprised how big of a diff. it cld make!
*Buy used or unfinished( furniture that hasn't been painted) furniture, and paint it yourself.
*Paint or write some of your favorite quotes onto your wall(s) or on a piece of poster board and hang/tape them on your walls!
*Get some rugs, pillow cases, blankets, picture frames, curtains, paint-anything!- in neon colors and place them around your room!
*Decorate your room with posters/collages (buy or make em yourself!) of your fav band, ur friends, etc.
*Buy a corkboard and put pics, quotes, etc. on it or make ur won corkboard with cardboard, and glue construction paper on it. Let dry for a day. Then it's ready to use!
~Get creative! It's your room! Let your imagination run wild! (I'd suggest getting Rent's Permision first tho!) Sorry this was kind of long! Hope I helped! If u have q's, comments, concerns, or want advice, suggestions, etc. just come to my profile! Hope everything goes well! Have fun!

B has never really lied to me before, only one time B pretended to be mad, but then I got really upset and freaked out, and asked if B was just fake, and B laughed and said yes...(almost anyone laughs when i freak out-its aparently *realllyy* 'funny' )
Does A flirt with other girls, or just you?
~Yes, he sometimes, does, but i've only seen it once or twice, other than that, not really, A's just outgoing, nice, polite, and friendly!
and is B really sweet & stuff towards other girls?
~B's really nice to pretty much anybody...but sometimes B acts extra sweet/nice to me, and i've seen B a couple of times be really sweet to other ppl that are special/close/ or mean a lot to B

hey! we are pretty similar! anyway saw your comment about re-decorating your room, and I'm about to do mine, but since you like neons here is an idea: paint your walls plain white, and then pick your favorite color for your bedspread, like neon green. then splatter paint the walls in neons, like pink purple green blue yellow orange and even throw in some black and silver for contrast. then just get some neon pillows and curtains and chairs/beanbags and lamps and you're good to go! tell me what you think!

Hey girlie! I saw your question for advice on Veg-if-y your Summer! And it sounds like you could make your room more YOU easily!

1) Re-paint your room! Go to a Loews or Home Depot, and check out the paint section! Grab a few samples of your fav colors, and look at them with your room! To make painting cheaper paint maybe only 1 or 2 walls in your room!

2) Since you like bows, go to a hair store or a Walgreens, and find some HUGE hair bows, and just stick them anywhere you'd like in your room!

3) Find a bedspread that represents YOU it doesn't have to be a designer sheet, just head down to a Target or JC Penney and see what's on sale!

4) Do you write poetry or draw picture? Because if you do, you could always frame these things and hang them up in your room!

Hey I saw that u needed advice about ur room. I just redecorated my room. Will they let u get paint or wallpaper. Usually home decorating stores have cheap wallpaper designs. If not then y don't u ask ur friends and neighbors if they have anything u like that they might not use(like rugs, posters, and knick-knacks) Good Luck!

I NEED ADVICE!!!! i saw tht u give advice...so i thought I'd ask! So i like 2 ppl (A and B). A: I've liked A for so long. I mean, it's crazzyy how long! A is hot and cold with me. Sometimes A acts really into me, and flirts a lot(SUcha complete and utter flirt! and, jeez, A is just awesome. I've tried to get over A SO many times..but then A does something that just is so cute and completely wins me over (again!) Onetime, A gave me a heart magnet from a random table and gave it to me, even though I was tripping over books and stuff. *swoon* But other times A acts really uninterested. It makes me really upset. A found out about my crush, and completely avoided me for about a week until things dissipated and wore off. But at the same time A and I are really really really really REALLY good friends....weird, right?! B: B is adorable. I just recently formed a crush on B. B always acts into me and is always so sweet! B was in a serious relationship for a while, and it ended like 3 months ago....I just formed the crush on B about a month ago! Well, while in the relationship B got me a b-day gift! I just met B last year, and we hit it off from the very beginning. B doesn't flirt with me AS much as A, but B never acts uninterested, either. Here's where it gets complicated: I told B about my crush (B knew i liked A), so B knows about all my crushes! B was totally cool with it! B was "Flattered"...then B asked me to the movies...I'm not sure if it was as friends or a date. we never ended up going. B used to have a crush on an older person, but claims to be 'over it' So who's better? A or B? Which crush sounds like the better person to be dating? Thanks!
