Oh I love Soul Surfer! Bethany hamilton is so inspiring. I just finished reading eclipse- i'm not sure if i should read Breaking Dawn or just see it in the theater. what do you think I should do? I really like this one guy but a really pretty eigth grader likes him too. They flirt and I get kind of jealous, but she's asked him out and he's said no. I don't know what to do

Hey girlie,

Instead of waiting on the sidelines, try to get in the game! Talk to him more often (start off by asking him a question - about one of his interests, homework help, etc.) and let him get to know you. As some time goes by and you get more comfy around each other, you can start to flirt and see how he responds. It may be true that the other girl is pretty, but that means nothing if he isn't crushing on her. By growing closer to him as friends, you could find that he actually really likes you! Even if not, at least you've become friends and can enjoy his company. And you'll never have to ask yourself, "What if I tried harder?" because you'll know you did your best!

Stolen
The wails of a newborn drifted from the house on Charelston Avenue. Standing next to the child and mother, a handsome yet exhausted man smiled. The mother ran her hands through her long blond hair and sang softly to her child. She looked worridely at her husband and asked, "What should we name her?" He husband replied, "How about Rachal? She'll grow up to be beautiful, and she deserves a beautiful name." Rachal's mother smiled and crooned down to the baby, "Hello, Rachal, do you like your name?" The baby slowly stopped crying, then gave a happy coo. Her mother and father laughed. Rachal's mother wrapped Rachal in her warm yellow blanket and brought her over to the window. Outside the glow of the window shown down on the wintery ground. A full moon was high in the sky, surrounded by falling snowflakes. Rachal's blue eyes reflected the moon in the dark sky as the child stared into the stars.

Later that night, when Rachal had finally fell asleep, footsteps crunched up the sidewalk towards the house. The full moon shined down, revealing a shadowy figure as it made its way up to the front door. The figure twisted its hand, and the door opened with a creak. The footsteps made there way up the stair case and past the parent's room to the child's room. The figure opened the door and walked softly into the room, bending over Rachal's crib. Two hands swiftly lifted the sleeping infant out of the crib, waking her up. A womans voice softly sang to Rachal, calming her down. Rachal stared up into the woman's face, watching her carefully. The woman smiled, and began to walk back down the stairs. Suddenly Rachal screamed, and from the parent's room the sounds of the mother and father stirring coud be heard. The woman scolded the child, and ran down the stairs. The parent's door opened and the father ran into Rachal's room. The woman swiftly ran through the door as the mother ran down the stairs, screaming, "Give her back! Please, I'm begging you! Please!" The door slammed behind the woman's retreating back, and the only sounds in the winter night were the woman's footsteps as she raced away with Rachal and the parent's frantic screams as the tried to find their stolen child.
