Hiya!
The best way to get to know him better is to just make an effort to talk to him. Talking to him will make him notice you, and if you have a lot in common, you might form a connection. There a a lot of easy topics to discuss that are completely casual and low pressure. First, you can talk about school, because it is something you definitely have in common. It is easy to strike up a conversation about the really hard math test, the crazy teacher, something interesting that happened in class,or even just a homework assignment. Sometimes the conversation will branch off into another topic that will reveal more information about him. You can also make conversation by just being observant. If he is wearing a baseball jersey, ask him if he plays and tell him you play too.
