I've had my tonsils out too. I was only Four at the time and was very frightened. My docttor was very nice and did things for me that made me feel less scared. Like in the pedeatric center where i am they have different colored masks so i got to pick out my color . He told me a song to sing while they were outting in the needles. He stayed in my room until i woke up to make sure i was okay. When i finally woke up the first thing he did was take the iv's out. Don't be nervous, everything will be fine. GOOD LUCK!!! I have to get my tonsils taken out too! I have a severly over larged tonsil on the right side of my throat that makes it hard for me to eat. but not until 2 or 3 months! I am really scared too! we can be support buddies! :] what I do when I go to a hospital (which by the way I am TOTALLY scared of hospitals) I bring a small stuffed animal with me. also, if you are scared of needles, you can ask the nurses to gives you the gas to breathe in that makes you fall asleep instead of the IV. lastly, you could have your friends make you some notes and cards for you to read before and after the operation! hope this helps a lot girlie! i wish you the best!
