Hey, girlies! Here are chapters 1 and 2 of a book I'm writing called "Kuromi's Key". Enjoy!

Kuromi's Key

I never actually meant to find the gem. I was just pulled along by my family. They demanded me to dig for jewels. I didn't want to, I was getting too old for that. Okay, I secretly thought it sounded fun, but, come on, I just turned 12, and as a pre-teen, I had to be more mature now.
"Alex, come on, you love this, I know you do!" "Yeah, I can see it on her face. She wants to so bad.". Eric smirked. Yes, unfortunately I had a big brother. He was 16 and had just gotten his driver's license, which somehow made him "cool", according to him. "Yeah, yeah, keep on dreaming, "cool" boy. Okay, fine, I'll do it!" I pretended to be mad, but secretly I was sort of thrilled. I wondered if I'd
find any fascinating gems.
So, at this little mining town that was our so called "vacation", I started to dig. The "mine" workers gave me a little shovel and picked MIne 6 for me to dig in. It's really just big boxes full of dirt with hidden jewels, but whatever. I had 5 minutes to dig, which was a pretty good amount of time. I actually had 10 seconds left until I actually found something.
This wasn't just any old gem, I knew right away after picking it up. It was glistening brightly, despite being buried in a cartful of dirt and sand. It was a brilliant emerald color, with a mix of aqua if you tilted it towards the light the right way.
My brother had found 3 gems. He teased me, saying, "Wow, you only found 1? Oh that's too bad," in his little sarcastic scrawl. But I could tell he was just jealous. Jealous of my new, precious gem. I could just feel the power radiating off the the little thing.
My mom walked up to me. "Oh wow, honey, that's a really neat gem!" Her eyes flickered from the gem to my eyes, and she smiled her eye-crinkling smile that I love.
Our dad went missing when I was 7 years old. He just vanished, really. No one knows where he went, the police couldn't find him. I would catch Mom crying in her room sometimes, holding our only picture of my dad up so she could see it. Rarely does she smile the way she just did, now.
I noticed a small hole in the gem, near the bottom. I guess I would have to be wearing it upside down in a necklace for now. I smiled as we continued on back to our house. I had just found a treasure, my own special treasure.

But little did I know everything was about to change... very, very soon.


Chapter 2

At school the next day, I proudly walked down the school halls, flashing my brand new emerald hanging from my neck. I smiled at everyone I saw, even my biggest rivals. They just gaped at my gem then pulled themselves together and sneered at me. I flashed an even bigger smile.
Somebody named Ari was walking down the hall, head hanging. She wasn't really popular, didn't have any friends. Then, she froze. The hairs on the back of her neck rose, and she turned slowly. When she spotted the gem hanging around my neck, her eyes glazed over. She walked up to me and said, "Wait for me by the benches outside at the end of school. It's... urgent." There was something about the way she said urgent that sent a shiver down my spine. I stared at her until she was out of site. Then the bell rang, and I shook my head and hurried on to my next class.

I don't know why I did this, but i decided to wait for Ari. After all, it must have something to do with my gem. I looked down at it and cupped it in my hands. It WAS a little bit strange, after all. Maybe she had some info on it.
She showed up 5 minutes after I arrived, after the buses had left. I always walk home from school each day, and I guess Ari does, too. My house is extremely close to my school. Practically right next to it. Her eyes were blank, a bit... frightened, even? But she looked up into my eyes and smiled a warm smile. I held a back a gasp. Her eyes were a startling shade of grayish purple, and her hair was very fair and dark. An unusual eye color, at least for a human being.
"May... do you suppose I could... hold it?" I was reluctant, but not wanting to be rude, I shrugged. "Sure, I guess. But just don't drop it!" I handed it over to her. She examined it for a bit, then looked up at me. "This is no ordinary gem, could you tell?" I nodded. "I did sort feel this... power." I almost giggled. It sounded so nerdish to say something like that. I don't play with Pokémon cards anymore...
"I have been searching for this gem in particular ever since... I need it because something personal happened to me." "Um, sorry, but I'm sure there are other gems you can find out there like mine," I replied uncomfortably. She smiled sheepishly. "Yes, I know you may think that. But, um, this one is... special. I do have need of you, though, too..." "What are you talking about?" I demanded to know. She looked up at me again and paused, then said, smiling, "It is... a secret. You will find out soon enough, though." She paused, thought for a moment, and said, "I suppose the gem needs more time with you." She handed it back to me. I practically snatched it out of her hands.
What she said next became burned into my soul for all eternity.
"Be warned... if you handle that gem the wrong way, or if it falls into the wrong hands... it means certain death, for sure. Trust no one." I looked up and said, "Then should I trust you?" She was already gone, but I'm sure I heard a voice reply, "That is for you to decide." I shuddered and started walking home.

Hola!!

It's awesome that you like Fruits Basket!!! I've read most of the series, but I haven't finished yet because I odn't have enough money to buy the last four books, and I can't find them at the library.

I'm also a Harry Potter fan!! (I'm actually watching the fourth movie right now. It's my favorite so far. ) I saw the sixth movie and absolutely L-O-V-E-D it!!! It had more humor than the rest...

I have Jordin Sparks first CD, and I wanna get her second!! "Battlefield" is probably my favorite song right now. I've heard some of Evanescence's music, and I like what I've heard pretty well.

The story is really good! It's really interesting, I can't wait to read more!!
