Sorry for not writing in a while. Summer has been pretty crazy! I can't believe school starts August 2nd for us. It feels like it's just a continuation of last year, instead of a brand new start. So I'm trying my hardest to make it feel new by getting a new haircut with side bangs and the bulk taken out, and giving myself highlights with lemon juice! I've been writing a lot also, working on a novel about a girl going through the hardships of middle school.

I have the same problem with my writing ideas! And great job about your writing contest! Yeah, our school gets out the same day. Usually we get out earlier, and since we started school on August 2nd, we really should get out earlier, but they've decided to make our school year longer - ugh! Anyway, I'm not sure if I told you this, but a short story I wrote for my language arts class was entered into a state writing competition. It won for my district, so now it is going to another set of judges, and if it wins with that, then it goes to the state competition! I'm really excited.

Thanks for the advice! It just looks really fun and I've wanted to play for a while now, but I did track instead. Now I'm wishing that I had gone ahead and done lax, because it seems so fun! The tracks season is over but I'm still running! I have a 5K tomorrow morning and another one the weekend aftert that.

Weird! Well, how is lacrosse going? Track is going pretty well, but still definitely not as fun as xc. The coach is not as good as well. I am also doing my school's running program for girls. It is really fun! We do other activities besides running. Also, one of my teachers chose me and one other person from my grade to be the guides for people from the state school board that are coming to our school. I am really excited but nervous! Also, today my friend made it really obvious that I liked my crush. We were talking, and then we had to do some work for science class. She called to him across the room and was telling him to talk to me! It made it look like I had told her to do that, when I had no idea what she was doing. On the bright side, my teacher gave me a dozen donuts for my birthday, and I had fun at my birthday party too, so that was good. What's up with you? Anything happen with your crush?

That is so awesome! Congratulations! I have always wanted to play an instrument. I used to play piano but that just wasn't my thing. I really want to play guitar. My Dad is going to teach me when I get the time. Right now I am so packed. Today I babysat for twin 4-month-olds, they are so cute! This Sunday I have another babysitting job for my neighbors. I have never babysat them before so I'm excited but a little nervous. And our school recently started having a morning news show. Whenever it's someone's birthday they display their school pictures on the screen! That is going to be so embarrassing. The pictures were taken in the beginning of the year and already I look so different.

Those are all good ones! I like the Beatles early stuff, too. I know a lot of people who say that it's not as good as their later stuff, but I like it just as much as their later stuff. Yeah, the Beatles did some really awesome covers. Twist and Shout and Please Mr. Postman are good ones. Anna (Go to Him) and Till There Was You are some other of their cover songs that I really like. Awesome, that sounds like so much fun! It's actually been really warm here, but yesterday there was a huge thunderstorm coming and tornado warnings in nearby counties. Track and a bunch of other sports were cancelled, so I went home with a few friends. We watched our 3rd grade play and laughed at how high our voices were and how little we were. Then I flirtexted my crush, and he texted back like it was no big deal! He didn't even ask why I had his number or why I was texting him like I had expected him to. He was really cool about it. But at school we don't really talk. I think it's cuz his friends are there. Like, he doesn't want to seem unmacho or something. I don't know. So what's new?
