1. ask him if he is hanging out with you to get close to your bff or

2. you could say you him and your bff would go to a movie and don't bring your bff then see if he cares or

3. fugare out how he acts when he hangs out with you then how he acts when he hangs with ur bff or

4. you ask his pals they otta know or

5. does he ask alot of questions about your bff if so he problay likes her
