Hey girl,
I don't know if I'm too late for the Q about the dance, but if you ask him to slow dance I would make it casual. You'll probably already be near each other because of your friends, so you could just say, "Hey, wanna dance?" or something low-key like that. Then, if he says no, you can just play it off.

Hey an answer tto ur q would b go up to him and b brave and ask him if he would like to slowdance giuys like brave girls bcuz it's just as hard for a guy to ask a girl to slow dance and all and he'll appreciate the bravery so go ahead and ask him at the dance if he would like to slow and if he Says no just shrug ur shoulders and say ok and walk off!
