Honestly, from my days of co-op, I can say I don't like posers or wannabes. They think they're "cool" because the like what everyone else likes. But, honestly, bring yourself is the only way to be cool. And if people only like you for interests and not you yourself then they should feel ashamed. So take that advice and run with it. I know it's a little cliche to say "be yourself blah blah blah" but it helps in the long run.
