hey girl!
being friends with a guy is a GREAT way to start a relationship! about him being more open, some guys are and some guys aren't. one of my bgfs (and my crush) is one of those people that will talk to you and tell you anything if your friends. another one of my bgfs wont tell me much about his feelings unless i ask, and even then sometimes he doesnt tell me. it all depends on the guy with how open you can get him to be. we are all nervous around our crushes, but dont let that keep you from talking to him! smiling at him and making eye contact are a few ways to get HIM to start the convo (that way you dont have to worry about saying hi first) but once he does, you have to keep the convo going! complement him, or ask him a question about himself. if you are still way to nervous to talk much, bring one of your bffs with you for support until you are a little less nervous. once you guys are close, you could ask him to do something with you and a few friends. you could even have him invite a few friends along too. flirting is a GREAT idea! if you dont drop a few hints, he'll never know and you could miss out on an oppertunity for a great bf. remember, if you dont ask, the answer is always no.

hey girl! first off, just by posting, i think you're a member, so welcome!
if he says that you're one of his best friends, then that's great! it's easier to get together with a bgf than, say, the boy you pass in the hall everyday. but what do you mean by open? boys aren't really that great at sharing their feelings, so a talk about things that annoy him might be as close as you can get for now.
if you're really serious about liking him, then i would just say go for it! being on the down low all the time doesn't really get you anywhere, and besides, if you're friendly and upbeat, then he'll see you as someone he wants to hang out with. talking to him and hanging out with him is a good start. if you're shy around him, though (and i get this too), just smiling is a good, non-verbal way to communicate. or, when he's saying something, KEEP EYE CONTACT with him. it shows that you're interested in what he has to say, and it works (i do it all the time with my crush). just don't come out with how you feel right away-give it some time, flirt a bit, and then maybe give him a little hint and see what happens!
