I hope you are able to bring up your Algebra grade! Although honestly a 79 isn't TO terrible, especially when the rest of your grades are so awesome! But I feel you, I really want to bring up my math grade too..I have an 81 right now but I'm really nervous it's going to go down after this huge complicated test we have next week. But, I'm going to study really hard and hope I can bring it up. I'm also a bit worried about my chem grade for like the exact same reason. I have an 84 right now but we have a huge test next week...and I am just terrible at chem (it's my hardest class by far)..so I'm a bit nervous about how that will turn out.
I know it just really dawned on all of us juniors that we are basically seniors now! It's so crazy..I actually find it pretty scary that next year is our last year of school (before college). It's going to be so sad to say goodbye to everyone :-( But being on top of the school next year is going to be AWESOME!!
I think my SAT's went better then they did in May. I at least felt a lot more confident on the math this time around so I hope I did better. I get my results on the last day of school for me..June 20th haha so fingers crossed about that.
Only 9 more school days until summer vacation! I'm actually really sad this year is ending because it was a really good year..but I'm sure summer will be so much fun!
Yes, I'm going to apply for a job at the gymnastics center literally like the day school gets out, or the day after haha I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be applying since they have summer camps there and everything so I want to get my application in right away. The thing is tho, the camps are during the morning which is when I'm working at that other camp...so I really hope they could use me for something in the afternoons or evenings! And then in August I will be taking drivers ed for the entire month (finally haha..things kept getting in the way so I never ended up taking it). I'm actually totally fine with taking it now tho, I'll be with mostly kids in the grade below me and I know a lot of people in that grade that are really nice so I think it should be good. Plus, this way hopefully I can make some new friends while taking the class since I wont already know everyone. So yeah that's my summer haha What are your plans for summer? Any vacations? My family is going to Cape Cod the last week of July-into August, which should be fun

I have been SO busy with school lately too, it's crazy. I definitely have had the most work these past few weeks that I've had in high school yet..it's been so intense.
Anyway, I've been good otherwise! What about you? I feel like we haven't talked in FOREVER which is really sad ;( I hope everything's been going great for you. How was prom?!?!?! I think it happened already for you, I forget the exact day you said it was. I hope you had the most magical/fun night ever!

The prom at my school went well for the most part. Most of my friends had a good time..one of them had a really terrible time tho. Her date was just awful and SO mean..I felt pretty bad for her. And to make matters worse afterwards nobody was nice to her when she was saying she didn't have a good time. They were just picking on her for having bad judgement and saying yes to that guy...so yeah, but for the most part I think it was a fun night. I was a little sad I didn't go afterwards. But hopefully I'll have a date next year. And it was nice, my bgf (the guy I sorta like) was saying that he totally would have gone with me if I had just casually asked him. I didn't really want to do that tho because I thought it would be a bit awkward for a few reasons (mostly because we are close family friends and all that) but it was still nice to know that one guy would have wanted to go with me, haha

No, I actually didn't send in my application for that job. I was about to, just when school started getting so crazy and then I decided to hold off until summer. I figured this last month is so critical and important that it wouldn't be very smart to add that in right now. But I honestly wouldn't mind working there on top of my other job during the summer! My job at the camp is just during the day until 1:00 in July, so I'm hoping that I could get some evening hours at the gymnastic center. We'll see how that goes, I don't even know if they need people right now.
Yeah, I totally agree your mom sounds so awesome. I could totally understand how having her looking out for you so much could get annoying but her heart is totally in the right place and there is nothing better then having someone who cares for you that much.
My sisters trip turned out pretty good. One not so great thing happened tho. The first night one of her roomates was up throwing up for basically the entire night. It turned out she had the stomach flu and she had to leave the trip. So my sister and two of her other friends were pretty nervous that they were going to wind up getting sick. So that wasn't a great element to the trip, lol But by the end of the trip my sister was saying that over all it had been really fun. I was texting her like the entire time lol That's so cool that your middle school had the option of going to D.C or NYC! That sounds like such a great trip!
I'm trying to think of what else has been going on here..hmm..lol Well, our next door neighbors just had a baby which was pretty exciting! They have a 3 year old girl that my sister and I play with outside nearly every day, so we know them pretty well. Anyway, the baby is so adorable and SO tiny haha They named her Violet<3
So yeah that was exciting..hmm I don't think much else has happened since I last talked to you. Oh, how did you do on the SATs? I did pretty good but not nearly as well as I hoped to on the math. I'm taking it again next weekend..I hope I do a bit better this time. I've been studying the math a lot.
When is your last day of school? Mine is June 20th. I can't believe how close we are to the end of the year..and then we are seniors..that's so crazy!!! High school went by SO fast!

How was the race you went to Saturday? Were you running in it or just going to watch?
Do you know who won the game? I was hoping they would post that on our school site, but they didn't..and none of my friends went. That's ok you couldn't go, I hope you found some good gifts for your friends and had a good time at the race!
Um, I think Fairfield U is similar to URI in a couple ways but not in a huge way because it's a smaller school and URI is really big haha But they offer similar programs and it had a pretty similar atmosphere to me..like its made up of a lot of really good people. But yeah I guess they are pretty different, because of the size and everything. Also, Fairfield apparently gets a lot of students from all over the country and URI I think is made up of more people who live around here (from what I've heard).
I hope you like Quinnipiac if you tour there! I went on a tour of that school in the fall and I didn't love it, but that doesn't mean you wont! But yeah I know exactley what you mean about distance from home. That's how I felt when I visited those schools in Rhode Island. It was like it should have been ok because they were only 2 hours from house which should be considered pretty close but...it still felt like a bit much. I've like hardly ever been away from home for more then a few nights so already I know college is going to be a MAJOR change and is going to take a lot of adjusting, so the closer I can be to home the better. It's funny a couple of my friends, like their TOP priority is to go super far away. One of my friends wants to go to the University of Miami (like she has her heart set on that school)! And I'm just like, that sounds like such a cool place to go to school but I could NEVER do that!
Oh yeah and then my moms friend whose daughter is a junior at my school (we aren't really that close friends tho) is like SO crazy about the college stuff. Her daughter is like top of our class..CRAZY smart and they've visited over 20 schools since she was in 8th grade!! And her mom has this rule for all 3 of her daughters that they have to go to a school at least 3 hours away from home because she needs them to be far enough that they can't come home on the weekend because she considers college to be the only way to grow up or something like that. I think that's really extreme and sorta mean lol
I've never heard of MCPHS university but it sounds great and like it would be a great school for the things you are interested in! I hope you like it
That's funny it's closer to get to that school then URI for you!! It's closer to get to a couple schools in Massachusetts then some Rhode Island schools from my house which I found interesting because I've always felt like we are closer to Rhode Island because it's like right next to us and we go to the beach there a lot in the summer. But I guess since we live in western ct, it's not really THAT close haha
The new iPod sounds awesome! I was actually in the mall the other day and I went into the Apple store to try it out and I agree I love the new design SO much better! It looks so much nicer and I love how it's thinner and lighter weight (I just hope I don't drop it like right away :p). What is siri? I think I definitely want to get it in white
Yeah, I hope prom ends up being good next year and that I have a good guy to go with. Definitely I agree, it's totally cool for the girl to ask the guy...I hope there's a guy in my life worth asking next year if I don't get asked haha

Yeah, I know $1,000 dollars for the China trip was pretty good! Since it's like a student ambassador program through the school I think it's a bit cheaper. Also, they didn't stay at a hotel they stayed with host families..so that's partly why it was a little cheaper.
Haha aw, I think it's sweet you and your mom are so close and she probably just looks at you like your younger because she cares about you so much and doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. My mom has been the opposite lately. She's constantly telling me to "grow up"..and it's getting so annoying. And she always is like using my age against me since I turned seventeen. It's like every little thing I do wrong she's like "you're SEVENTEEN you shouldn't be doing this...blah blah" haha So, I wish I had your problem lol
My family is the same with traveling. That's so cool you've been to Puerto Rico though, and the fact your family is from there is even cooler! My family basically all lives in New England so no big travel opportunities there haha
I hope you have an ok time getting back to school! I'm not very enthusiastic about going back..but whatever after like a day of being back it will just be the routine again so it's ok. Plus, we are almost to summer!! I can't believe our prom is this Friday night..that came SO fast.
This week is also the annual eighth grade Washington D.C trip the middle school takes, so my sister will be gone on that for most of the week. Does the 8th grade go on any big trip in your town? I'm not sure if the D.C trip is more of a CT thing. I had such an amazing time on that trip though and have the greatest memories from it I found out that my crush at the time liked me while on that trip..it was all pretty perfect and so much fun lol SO yeah, I'm jealous of my sister I hope she has as good a time as I did

I wish I got your message before we left, that Iggy's place sounds really good!! But unfortunately our day was really rushed and we didn't really have time to stop and eat and shop around like we were planning to in between tours. But it was still a fun day (: I liked different things about both schools to be honest but I guess I could picture myself at URI a bit more then Salve Regina. One of my best friends is really interested in URI too which is cool. It was funny seeing them both in one day because they are so different from each other!! But it was a good day (: I really want to get back and see Roger Williams again as well, because I went on a tour there last year and loved it.
Yeah it's sad things have to be so complicated with the guy I like..but I'm going to try really hard to stop stressing over it. Like it's been the main thing on my mind lately and its been making me pretty sad how the odds are pretty much set against us. But what's meant to be will be right? If I'm meant to be with him..there will be a way, I've just got to believe that.
Oh that's right I remember you telling me your iPod was stolen! That is so sad, where did you think it got stolen? People can be so cruel. Like so many things have been stolen in the locker room at my school this year it's ridiculous!! My friend in my gym class had 100 dollars in her locker to put into her lunch account and she forgot to lock it and then it was gone. I've always made sure to lock up all of my stuff thankfully. It's weird because I feel like generally my school is filled with really good people who I would never guess are like secretly committing crimes haha
Yeah it was really sad, and I don't even know how it broke it just like..stopped working it was so weird!! But with some of the money I make this summer I already know I am going to use it to get a new one. And I've started looking at the new iPod touch online to try and take my mind off of the fact that I don't have one right now, and it looks really cool! So I'm excited for that

I know, I can't believe what that sophomore did to my friend either. I actually thought he was a pretty good guy..he has a lot going for him. But ditching her like that was so uncool. She's trying to act all cool about it saying she doesn't care and she didn't like him that much anyway but you can tell she did and she's just trying to cover up some of the embarrassment of having him ditch her like that.
Yeah, I know a couple of my friends weren't being super nice about the whole date thing last week. They weren't like TRYING to be mean I doubt but they were sort of joking about how no guys like me or whatever..and it just wasn't funny. I hope prom is fun next year, I'm going to go no matter if I have a date or not because it's senior prom but I really hope that somehow I have a date.

That's such a great plan to try and save your money for a car for senior year! That would be so awesome (: So many people have cars that they drive to and from school I'm so jealous...especially since my bus doesn't have the best people in the world on it haha But whatever, my bus drivers a cool guy and to be honest it doesn't bother me THAT much...I'm the second stop so it's not like I'm trapped on there for a long ride.
Haha I know, I really want to work at this gymnastics place, it looks like such a cute and fun place!! And a job with kids would just be so perfect for me. We actually have lots of kiddie gyms and daycares and such in our town, so I feel like if I set my mind to it I would be able to get a job at one of them. And yeah I could imagine fitting in school work with a job could be kind of tricky..that's the main reason I've been holding off on applying. But I feel like I'm good at managing my time and I would be able to handle it, and it would be worth a few late nights of homework to have some money for a change haha

That's so annoying that you have a big research paper to work on over vacation :/ Good luck, I'm sure you'll do really well on it (: And it does help to have the time to work on it over break I guess. I have a history project due the Friday we get back and then a chem test that Friday as well, so I really should spend some time working and studying haha
I am sooo nervous for my English final....we got the instructions for it last Friday and it is this huge portfolio project (which is fine..I could handle that part) but part of our grade is our 20-25 minute presentation!! :-( I seriously am sort of freaking out. I have literally the hardest time doing a 5 minute or less presentation, I don't know how I'm going to do this :'( And it's on the last day of school..so I have to be worried about it right up until the end. So that's like a major stress on my head right now....seriously like almost a half hour of talking in front of the class?!? I can't do that..:-(
Oh and yeah I know, it's pretty cool the exchange program my school has with France! This is actually our first year doing it, before that we just had one with China. But yeah I hope the trips going really well...my friend was sorta freaking out last minute about going so far away, but I'm sure it's been really fun! I couldn't believe how many students went on the France trip....it was SO many haha I can't really picture myself going to a foreign country and staying with a host family..lol but it would be a really interesting experience.
I hope your break has been fun and relaxing so far (: What are your plans for the rest of the week? Tomorrow my families going to this aquarium thats like an hour away in honor of my sisters birthday because she loves animals and really wanted to go there so that should be fun. And then Thursday I'm going to visit Fairfield University, and then I'm babysitting my 3 year old neighbor that night which is always fun haha And then Friday I really want to get to the mall because like I was saying I need new clothes really badly, and I'll have some babysitting money which is nice. For the weekend I don't really have any plans, but hopefully I'll end up doing something fun before school starts again.
Did a lot of people you know go away over break? So many like left the country here, it's so crazy!! My sisters two best friends (also close family friends) went to Paris and then the other family went on this Disney cruise to like Bermuda or something.....my sister and I were so jealous haha

Aw, I'm so sorry that sucks about having to pay the full price for the SATs!! :-( I agree with you they are WAY to expensive!! And my family is the same exact way..stuff like that isn't super easy to fork over the cash for.
My practice SAT went fine, I got my scores back and they were decent but definitely room for improvement so I'm trying to prep a lot before taking the real thing for the first time May 4th. But it wasn't that bad, a couple friends of mine were there so I had people to talk too during the breaks and such so that was good (:

Omg girl please don't think like that, you are totally 100% worthy of having a prom date!!!! I know I don't know you in person but I know you're an amazing person and I'm sure you're soo beautiful<3 (: Guys are clueless, they don't know what they're missing. I do know what you mean tho, last week so many people I know got asked and now it kind of feels like everyone has a date. I'm not going tho..because literally every single one of my friends has a date now so I don't know who I would go with. But yeah last week for a couple days I was pretty sad that I wasn't asked..so I get that. It has nothing to do with not being confident, it's just like when so many people around you are in on something and you're not, it's normal to feel left out or a little sad. But the thing is a couple of my friends don't even like the guys that asked them..so now they aren't even looking forward to prom and they see it as something more to get through. Idk, at my school it's like this unwritten rule that you have to say yes to someone if they ask you to prom..I don't think that should be tho. Like one of my closest friends is going with this guy that's sorta a jerk and she heard he told someone that he doesn't even like her, he just asked her because he freaked out that he wouldn't have a date. How mean is that?!? And then when she was texting him the other night, the next day he showed all of the texts to this girl who he knows my friend doesn't get along with. Sooo anyway, at least we aren't in some sitch like that.
You totally should ask one of your guy friends!!! My mom went to prom with one of her guy friends and had an amazing time. She still talks about how much fun it was and how it took so much stress off to be there with a friend. I say go for it! (: And yeah, since you're going as friends there doesn't need to be any dramatic asking...just go up to him in class or text him or something! Good luck girl, I know you can do it!! (:

Yes, the seasons are one of the biggest things New England has going for it It keeps life interesting and new-feeling with the change of each season, in my opinion..since each is so different. The start of every season has this sort of exciting feeling to it because it's something new so I just feel refreshed haha
Haha ikr it's so ridiculous how long we have to wait for our CAPT results! To be honest, last year I totally forgot about it but when I got my results in homeroom this October and found out that I had to retake the math and science ones, I was pretty upset. So I'm hoping I'll get better news next October somehow..haha
Yeah, I registered for the SAT on collegeboard.com and it literally took me an hour to register. It was pretty annoying. And then it wouldn't let me upload my picture at the end..so my mom got on the phone and called them and they had to walk me through everything step by step again..but at least I got it to finally work haha
Yeah I know what you mean..having a date to prom is pretty ideal. Especially to have a picture with your date to look back on in the future..well that was always the part I envisioned the most when I was little haha But now that it's actually coming time for prom, it's so true that although that's what's traditional..much more people end up going with friends then with dates. Three of my closest friends all have dates tho..so I feel ya. But I'm planning on just going to Senior prom next year. I don't have a great group to go with this year (especially now that my three closest friends have dates they're going with)..and honestly I just don't feel the need to go. I want to go next year date or not, to experience it but idk..there just always ends up being so much drama and heartbreak at these formal dances that I just don't need to go twice. Not that I'm talking down prom of course!!..that sorta came out wrong haha I'm sure, you'll have an incredible time and all the stressing ahead of time will be for nothing. You have a beautiful dress, great friends to go with..so date or not, it's going to be fun and magical
Yeah the guy I like is really really nice, and yup haha he's pretty smart. He's one of those people where everything just comes super easy to him without trying very hard or being a nerd..lol But everything is pretty complicated so I don't know...I like him but I'm fine just being friends too. I'm not sure I'd want to mess with that. But I'm really grateful to have him as a friend..he's literally one of my best friends<3 Oh, but one of my friends texted me today because apparently she's seen me and him talking at school a lot and she wanted to know if I liked him..she knows him too. Anyway, she said that she really hoped I liked him because she thought we looked like a really cute couple and that we have so much in common so it would make sense. Anyway, I was glad to here her say that and relieved that she didn't think it was to weird like I thought she would....thanks for what you said too<3 At first I was just like, "I cant like this guy..it's just going to be to weird for everyone" but now I'm realizing that it doesn't feel at all weird to the two of us, so whatever lol But anyway..enough about me and my dramas lol
Oh come to think of it I think I saw some pictures of juniors last year from my school attending the National Honor Society ceremony too...on our school blog. It looked so special..which it should be, it's an incredible well-earned accomplishment!
Oh, we didn't end up with a snowday on Tuesday..or Wednesday.. whenever that was haha We just had a 2 hour delayed opening which was still nice, but a little disappointing since we were all really counting on an snowday haha
Thanks, my week was actually pretty good! It was one of those weeks where things just went right and nothing really went terribly wrong lol Oh, except for getting a 70 on my math quiz....your wishing me good luck on quizzes and tests didn't do it for me this time ;( haha I studied REALLY hard and thought I did really well so it was sort of shocking and it brought my grade down like 4 points, so I was pretty bummed. But on a brighter note I think I did good on my big US History presentation yesterday!! I was so proud of myself, I actually went up there really confident and didn't get that stage fright/unable to form the words feeling that I usually get when I'm in front of the class. Soo yay!! haha
I hope you did well on everything this past week as well!! When does your marking period end? Oh wait..I think we talked about this and you said your school doesn't work that way with marking periods?? Well, ours ends April 5th (grades close)..so yeah that's pretty stressful because I have like straight B's right now and only one A..:-( This is the worst I've done all year..oh wait no I got a C+ in chem first semester..lol
Soo anyway, what are your plans for the weekend? Tomorrow morning I'm taking a practice SAT at my school from 9:00-1:00 which shouldn't be to much fun. But after that my sisters best friend is celebrating her confirmation by having lots of people over her house for a luncheon/party which I think should be really fun!! It's always fun to get dressed up and be with friends<3 And then Sunday, my half sisters turning 1, so my dad and stepmom are having a party for her at their place which should be cute and fun too haha. I just realized I haven't told you much of anything about her!! I did tell you when she was born last year right??..I would hope haha But yeah she's really adorable<3
Soooo that's my incredible weekend ;) I hope your life is going well..seriously try not to feel to stressed about getting a date to prom. I was so stressed about that for a while a bit earlier in the year but in the end so many people don't end up having dates, so it's ok.

That's ok, don't worry about it! Wow the weather was like exactly the same for us last weekend haha...it seemed like a pretty significant snow on Friday but then Saturday and Sunday were so warm that it basically all melted right away. I totally agree about Daylight Savings...it has felt just like spring with it staying light later, I love it!! It's like I forget how nice and how much better spring/summer are until daylight savings and then I'm like SO ready for the warm weather! It's been really nice here too up until yesterday when it started to get cold again..and I guess it's going to stay pretty cold for a while which sucks :-( But Monday this week felt like May outside it was SO nice!! I want to start wearing shorts and dresses now :-D

I know what you mean about getting a prom date..but you are totally right that you DONT need one. My school is really huge so most people end up going without a date. But I know what you mean tho, a few guys at my school have done these really sweet and elaborate things to ask girls to prom and it's like....wow I wish that were me lol

Yeah, Oz The Great And Powerful was actually REALLY good!! Honestly I didn't expect it to be anything to great...but it definitely surprised me. It was extremely well made and it really took you to another world..the sets were all so beautiful ;) I feel like it's one of those movies that really is best in the theater on the big screen.
Hmm this weekend I don't have many plans.. the middle school is doing their annual play this weekend which my sister is going to with a bunch of her friends and I might go with them..that's tomorrow night. It's funny they're doing the Wizard of Oz right after that movie came out! But yeah, that could be fun because I know a bunch of the people in it.
Your plans for the weekend sound like a lot of fun! That's so exciting your confirmation is coming up! When is it? My sisters best friend has her confirmation next Friday..and then Saturday they are having a party at their house to celebrate. It kind of sucks tho because I'm taking a practice SAT that morning which goes until 1:00 and they are inviting people over at 2:00, so I'm going to have to rush home and get ready. I need two dresses also (one for the church service and one for the party) which I haven't exactly figured out..haha

Aw, whats this guy like?? Do you know him really well? I'd be happy to give you any advice if you need any...I'm sure if he doesn't already like you he will tho..why wouldn't he? ;) It's funny I sort of have a similar problem..I'm starting to like this guy....it's a really long and complicated story tho and I have no idea what to do about it.

Sorry I haven't written in so long!! I've had SO much work lately and I've been super busy with other stuff too.
Anyway, how are things going for you? This week is CAPT testing at my school (and I have to retake 4 of them :-() which is not fun. I have to retake the math and the science which is a total of 4 tests..4 days when I could be sleeping in and coming in late :-( It's so annoying. Do you have any standardized testing going on at your school?
Wow that is so convienient that you live so close to so many things in your town! I live on the main st in my town..so yeah same deal lol That's so funny how we live in such similar places! You're lucky you have a bowling alley in your town..we don't have one :-( The closest one to us is like a half hour away so nobody really goes there very often. Bowling is so fun tho, I wish we had one right in our town!
That's awesome we're taking the SAT on the same day!! I'm taking my second SAT June 1st. Honestly I'm not thrilled about taking it again so soon after my first test but I'm trusting my mom on this one haha She has a close friend who knows like absolutely everything about the whole college process and she really advised that I do it this way. So then I'll take it a third time next fall. Yeah, you can't take it in the summer..I'm pretty positive. There are no dates in the summer for it on collegeboard.com anyway.
Yeah, I'm not sure yet about prom. It's a lot of money and I honestly would be fine just going once. But I'm still debating it.
How was bowling with your friends? That sounds like so much fun! I didn't do that much last weekend..except we had family at our house for most of the weekend to celebrate my grandfather's 78th birthday which was fun haha My aunt came up from D.C and we don't see her often, so that was good (:

Oh yeah I didn't even put that together that the Blizzard was going on at the same time as your weekend plans :-( That sucks...I hate when weather gets in the way of things. And I agree, there's something about being trapped indoors that just instantly seems to make you bored. I was so bored last weekend too..I don't even remember what I did (besides shoveling the driveway..which took A LOT of energy lol)
Your Friendly's plan sounds like a lot of fun tho!! And you know it's something you all will enjoy which is always great I've actually never been to Friendly's..haha which sounds really crazy. We don't have one very close by us tho and even if we did, chances are I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of the stuff there because of my nut allergy (always getting in the way >)
Wow, it sounds like we got about the same amount of snow..although I'm not sure what the total was for us..maybe a little less then for you. Luckily nobody in my town lost power during the storm tho
Are you on February vacation right now? We are on our February "non-break" which everyone has started calling it. We have Monday and Tuesday off but that's it...and we would have had Monday off anyway for Presidents Day so it's a pretty cheap deal haha
That sounds like a great opportunity to get to work at your aunts job! That's so cool..I really wish I were getting to go away and actually do something this weekend haha So many people at my school are going away on vacation this year and just not coming to school at all next week. Although I'm jealous they get to go away, I wouldn't really want to do that tho because missing 3 days at my school would just be SO much work to make-up and create such problems with attendance that it just wouldn't end up being worth it. But yeah, this one girl in my history class is in Aruba for two whole weeks..how crazy is that?! And basically every one of my sisters friends is away right now as well....it's annoying how rich a lot of people are in my town, a lot of people we know are always going on extravagant vacations haha
I agree, I definitely like the drop schedule that my school has. That's so annoying that they are changing it for you next year! And after having the same schedule for 3 years I could imagine it would be really weird for it to be different! Plus, kids can always go see teachers during their free periods!!
Haha yeah I know it's pretty awesome having health for half of my gym semester this year! Definitely a positive change my school made for this year :-D lol I really lucked out with when I have gym too because I have it for like the one marking period where it's to cold to go outside..and by the time it warms up I'll be in health

I hope you got a chance or are going to get a chance to go shopping with your birthday money! My moms going to take my sister and I to this really big mall in our state one of the days this weekend so that should be fun My sister needs a dress for a party she's going to in a few weeks, and this mall has a lot more stores and is a lot nicer then our local one so it's always fun to go there and make a little day trip out of it I also might go look at a college campus on Tuesday. My neighbor went there for his first 3 years of college because he didn't get in to the main campus and then he transferred to the main campus for his last year (he's a senior in college now). Anyway, he really loved it there so I figured I would just check it out since it's so close by. It's a commuter school tho so I would have to commute everyday..about a half hour there and back..so I'm not sure about that. But my grandfather told my mom a while ago that if I decided to commute to a school he would help to get me a car (a used one but still extremely generous)..so yeah idk. There's so many decisions to start to make now that its second semester of junior year..it's been getting a bit stressful. Actually it's been getting really stressful haha
Anyways, I hope your February break is off to a good start Even tho it may not be the best or most eventful vacation, it's still always nice and refreshing to a break from school and get to relax for a few days

Oh but first of all....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope you've been having a great day without to much stress or work! You deserve an amazing birthday !
Haha, that baby doll project sounds pretty funny! We don't have to do that at my school, luckily We have different levels of Child Development at my school too and they are all pretty different from each other. Like Child Development I is basically like another science course and you just basically take notes, do projects and take tests. Then Child Development II is when you get to move on and have half of your classes in the pre-school ("nurtury") at my school. And the other half you basically spend preparing and doing stuff for the preschool days (so no more tests or anything..thank goodness lol). After that class it's Early Childhood Education I..which is similar to Child Development II except that you teach more lessons and are much more in charge in the pre-k and then Early Childhood Ed II is when you like teach the class for multiple days and are pretty much fully in charge. So I'm going to take both Early Childhood classes next year which should be fun and a good experience
Oh that's great that you have a good gym teacher and one of your best friends in your class! I would think that would make gym a little less bad. How is your new semester going btw? Mine's been fine (the only thing different for me is gym). Gym's been ok as well, because I have a pretty good class..everyone's really nice and we somehow are managing to have some fun lol And my teachers average..but he's not to bad.
I'm not sure when I get my actual report card in the mail but I can see it online. And I made honor roll which I'm really happy about because it was so close with my chem grade but I worked really hard at the end of the quarter and brought it up to like an 83 so yay!
I really hope you got the strait A's you were hoping for!! I'm sure you did and if you didn't it was so close that it's still a great accomplishment haha
Your weekend sounds like so much fun! I'm glad your track meet went well! And no I actually haven't started looking for prom dresses yet..I'm not even sure when our junior prom is lol

That is pretty sad how track is over for you now :-( It's funny how January is the beginning of a new year and everything but it's a month filled with a lot of endings too as the semester changes and everything.
Outdoor track seems like something you would really enjoy since you liked indoor track so much! Of course softball seems great too..I know what you mean tho I get stressed pretty easily as well. I'm sure you'll make a good decision though..there's not really a bad decision, whichever you pick I'm sure you'll end up having fun with it
Did you do anything fun for the Super Bowl this past weekend? My family went to this party one of our friends was having which was pretty fun Although, it was a bit chaotic so I didn't actually get to watch much of the game and now I feel like a missed out a bit :/ Which team were you routing for? I didn't have a big preference because I'm not that into football and I don't have a connection to either place but I just decided to route for the 49er's (and of course they lost) lol
Hmm I'm trying to think of some other news..haha Oh I thought of something..I'm going to apply for a job at this gym/gymnastics place for kids in my town Apparently they hire teens who are interested in working with kids and it seems like a really fun place..plus I need some money (I'm pretty much completely broke..haha) So yeah *fingers crossed* that have room and a need to consider hiring me!
I guess that's about it..I hope your 1st semester finished off well and your 2nd semester is off to a great start!! Oh and I hope you don't have to much homework tonight so you can spend your time doing fun things for your birthday!!

So far 2013 has been the same for me..not to exciting or eventful but just normal which is fine haha I'm glad you had a great new years! Mine wasn't as much fun as it was going to be because the party we were invited to got cancelled because one of the adults in the family found out she had to work that night (she's a doctor so sometimes she's called to work unexpectedly)..so they decided not to have it. It was pretty disappointing because I definitely prefer being with friends on nye. Staying home with my family wouldn't have been to bad tho, but then my mom got sick with some flu type thing :-( So she was in bed all night..but my sister and I still managed to have some fun. We went to BigY that day and got lots of food and ingredients to make stuff and we made lots of mini snacks and desserts..so that part was fun
Your lucky the semester ends for you on the 29th! It ended Friday for me..and it was just so sudden!! I'm so sad that Child Development is over for me now (it's a half year course) and so I'm done working in the pre-school at my school and I had to say goodbye to my buddy..it was pretty sad. And the worst part is now I have gym that period which I am SO not looking forward to :p
Yes, we do have midterms every year. This year they are moderated a bit tho (because of everything that's happened in our town) so for some of them we are getting to do the test with a partner, with others we get to have a cheat sheet or open note...so that's definitely going to be helpful. Midterms are the same way for us..two tests a day and then early dismissal (at 12:02 for us tho). Actually my bday already past.  I didn't have a party and it wasn't to eventful because it was on a Monday so it was just another day of school but it was still a good day and it was nice having everyone wishing me a happy birthday all day (: Although I'm still not thrilled. I don't really feel like I'm that old haha. but whatever it's just a number it's not like my life is going to change dramatically :p

I'm so nervous for midterms!! When do they start for you? They begin on the 22nd for us. But it's good that at least we have a nice long weekend (martin luther king day) leading into the exams so we have extra studying time
I would write a longer message but for one thing I have my doubts this is actually going to post and also I have to finish studying for a chem quiz tomorrow..haha But if this works (which would be a miracle), I promise I'll write a longer message really soon!! Thanks, I did have a really nice Christmas! (: How was yours? You probably heard (or will hear) about it on the news but there was a school shooting at one of the elementary schools. 20 kids were killed and 8 adults....it's just so awful. Obama has already talked about it on the news. There's live coverage of the shooting on yahoo but I could never bare to watch that. Most of the shooting took place in Kindergarten rooms too..like what kind of sick person who go for the little kids instead of a high school? it's all so scary.
Oh and the amount of deaths keeps rising..an hour ago it was 18 kids who died but now its 20. And chances are I knew many of them....omg its just to much to take, everyones so sad.

No I haven't visited UCONN yet..which is so crazy since its so close by lol I went there in 9th grade because of this ceremony for this writing contest I won but I didn't get to walk around or see much of the campus while I was there. I think I'm going to go to a spring open house. Omg I haven't heard about Emma Watson at Brown..actually I heard she went to Brown but wow thats so interesting that people didn't really like her..
I don't know to to much about her.
I keep meaning to look Austin up on YouTube and watch some of the covers hes done..I'll have to do that after I finish writing to you lol I really do think I've seen a couple of his videos but that was a while ago so I don't totally remember him.

Wow that Winter Wonderland celebration your town does sounds so nice and pulled together! It's so great how they have Santa there too! If you want to see Santa in my town you have to go to the mall in the town next to ours (which is like a small city)..which isn't nearly as special or magical as in some Christmasy setting like that lol
That's nice how you live across the street from a park too! I live just up the street from a small park..its so small though so there aren't many events there. But the Christmas Tree lightnings there so thats something! lol
Haha that's funny, I hope your family finally gets to go to the winter wonderland display! My family has things like that that we always try to get relatives to come in time for and it never works out lol

I still have to do like ALL of my Christmas shopping!! My sister and I are doing like a joint gift for my mom and then getting her really small things in addition from each of us. We are going to do this online photo scrapbook thing where you put the photos in and design it on this website and then they put together a book for you. We haven't actually started it yet tho..it was my sisters idea so I don't totally get how it all works either. We will probably get working on it while we are at my dads this weekend and he's a technology whiz so he can help us (: lol
But yeah I haven't even given thought to gifts for everyone else yet..I'm so behind I gotta get on that!!!! haha
My week was ok...A LOT of work (projects, tests, quizzes) this week which was all very tiring. TGIF!
Oh yeah that's the exact same reason I can't get an iPhone. Like I actually had the money to get one a little while ago with my camp money and then being due for an upgrade with my two year contract thing but I couldn't get one because of the data fees. It's really to bad because I wouldn't even need data. I would be totally fine with just using the wifi....I'm not on Facebook, Twitter..or basically anything (:-( lol) so I wouldn't be using endless data all the time. I think you should have to pay for what you use but sadly thats not how it works >
Omg I know, its so annoying almost everyone in my school has the iPhone!! And the sad part is I'm honestly not exaggerating :-( I don't get how all of their parents are fine with paying all of those extra charges! Like everyone who I know with an iphone's parents pay it all and I'm like..how does that work?! lol
Yeah my phone isn't "old" but it's a basic phone..the Samsung Brightside from Verizon Wireless to be exact lol And it is NOT a good quality phone in the least. It works so terribly and is like half broken. It's actually the third of this phone I've gotten in like the past half year. The first one broke like two months after I got it, the second one didn't work from the start because it wouldn't let the person on the other end of the phone hear me when I called them..the headset was broken or something..not sure what its called lol and then this is my third and its always randomly calling people and leaving VERY awkward messages...its so bad!! My replacement plan lets me keep replacing them. But really its just replacing one problem with another..lol I do not recommend this phone it is awful :-( Do you have Verizon? I hate them, I feel like they charge way to much and unless you have like the iPhone their phones give you a lot of probs.
What are you doing this weekend? I don't have any big plans...tomorrow we might go over to one of our family friends house. They celebrate Hanukkah and they invited us over to be there for the first night to eat latkes and light the menorah with them So that's fun (:

For christmas plans, it's going to be the same as every year for us. My aunt from D.C is going to come up and stay with us and then my other aunt, cousins and grandfather will all come for dinner that night as well..they all live in CT. My other cousins live in Maine..they sometimes make it for Christmas and sometimes don't..this year they aren't coming. That's on my moms side and Christmas night. Before that my sister and I go to my other grandparents house with my dad and his family..so we sorta have two Christmases lol

Anyway how was your Thanksgiving? What did you do? I hope you were feeling better! I was actually sick for Thanksgiving myself :-( Starting on like Monday of last week I had this terrible sinus infection flu type thing that made me pretty sick for 3 or 4 days. So that wasn't fun but I'm just happy to be feeling better now (:
So I missed out on seeing relatives on Thanksgiving. My sister and I usually go to my grandparents house (who live like a half hour away) with my dad in the first half of the day and then to my aunts house with my mom at night. But this year I stayed home and watched TV all day..not very festive lol My sister wasn't feeling great either so she stayed home until the evening when she was up to going to my aunts house with my mom. But then my other aunt who was here from Washington D.C stayed with us for a couple of days (by that point I was feeling better) so that was fun (:
Yeah, I know Qunnipiac has some good things going for it so I understand how it appeals to some people. It just wasn't for me..which was disappointing.

Your homecoming sounds like it was great! That's so awesome! It's nice how your school had it in the gym..I wish my school had homecoming AT our school. Ours is at this ritzy hotel in another town. Since it's like an event based upon everyone coming back to school to start a new year , I feel like it should be at the school lol Plus, I think the really formal fancy setting should be reserved for prom
Aw that's to bad the tour at Brown wasn't great. My mom and I thought the same thing about the Qunnipiac tour! The tour was very rushed and our tour guide believe it or not didn't seem very educated on the things about the school people had questions about. And Qunnipiac is one of the most expensive schools in the country so we expected a little better lol But yeah 10 minutes from your house, its good you went! You're lucky, you sound like you have a lot of schools close to home<3
The closest school I have to my house is Western Connecticut State University. It's about 20 minutes from my house and right near the rink that my sister skates at so we drive by it all the time. It's not to great a school tho and is one that nearly everyone commutes to. But I'm still going to tour it and everyone I know is applying to it to use it has their "safety school" sorta so that if they don't get into other places they always have that to fall back on.
But yeah, two of my moms sister (she has 3 sisters) went to Brown and loved it!
Yes, I really want to go on a tour of URI! I'll have to find out when their next open house is!
Omg I feel the exact same way. I'll be 17 in January which is so soon now and the idea of turning 17 scares me too. It's like I don't feel that old and I don't necessarily want to be that old yet lol I never liked being one of the oldest in my grade..I've always been jealous of my best friend whose bday is in September. But then again she's always been jealous of when my birthday was and how I turned a new age quicker so I guess we always want what we don't have haha But yeah..not so eager for my 17th bday to come either :-(
YAY IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU ABOUT THE TAYLOR SWIFT CONCERT!!! :-D I looked up that stadium and it looks SO nice! And it will be summer too..so all the more fun!

I'm SO SO sorry it's taken me like a week to get back to you! Every day this week has been so crazy in terms of homework..I haven't had the time.
Yeah I know, I've heard like 1% of New Jersey STILL doesn't have power! That's so insane..if that happened to us we would have just gone to stay with friends or relatives or something! That's so sweet your family donated some things to them tho!! I'm sure whoever got the things you donated, really appreciated them!
Yes, well Halloween actually WAS canceled last year because of Storm Alfred (that freak october snowstorm)..so we just couldn't let it be canceled two years in a row!
I'm so glad your history test was easier then you thought it would be!! I hope you did well too! An A in an AP class as hard as that one, would be such a great achievement! So first marking period closed a couple days ago for us..and overall I was happy with my grades I suppose. I got As in everything except for chem where I got a C. The way my chemistry teacher teaches just SO doesn't work for me. His quizzes and tests are IMPOSSIBLE and he doesn't have due dates for anything! So yeah I wasn't very proud of that grade..this marking period I'm already taking very detailed notes on everything and asking lots of questions so that I stay on top of the material better..and hopefully can do better then a C this next marking period.
I actually didn't really like Quinnipiac to much for a few different reasons. For one thing I didn't really like how there are three different campuses that you have to commute to on the highway every single day. I won't have a car so taking the bus to my classes could get tiresome. Also the whole atmosphere at the school just wasn't that great (in my opinion)..it's a huge party school apparently too. Of course I only have one other school to compare it to right now but everyone was just SO much nicer at Roger Williams University and the dorms and campus were a lot nicer too. Um Quinnipiac is about an hour from my house..so pretty close but not like SUPER close. Oh did I say Emerson..haha that's so weird I meant Edicott college! I wonder why I had the name Emerson in my head..where even is that?! lol
Oh I just googled it it's in Boston Massachusetts, so actually I probably heard something about that lol
ANYWAYS yeah I still have to go and visit UConn! And I really want to visit URI also
Oh yeah we got about 6 inches of snow last week I think! We had an early dismissal on Wednesday and then a 2 hr delayed opening on Thursday..so that's always nice! Did you have a delay or anything with the snow?
That sweet 16 party you went to sounds like SUCH a good time!! It's always fun being with everyone when they're all dressed up..I feel like it makes everything all the more fun!
I'm sure your other friends party will be more fun then you think! It can be good going into things without knowing many people once in a while so you can make some new friends! But I don't really love those situations in the moment either..it's WAY more fun to know a bunch of people!
Omg yes Little Things is such a sweet song! I bought it and have been listening to it like all the time lol Did you see One Direction on Ellen today? I was SOOOO jealous of these three girls who were chosen from the audience to come on stage to play this game. One by one they were blindfolded and told to go find one of the members of 1D so they had to go and feel their hair and faces..<3 haha It got SO funny tho and then they all hugged them and I was like dying of jealousy by that point haha :p

I don't really have anything big planned right now..I have to volunteer at that program at the library on Saturday (not totally thrilled about that). On Saturday night it's one of our family friends 50th birthday and her husband is throwing this MASSIVE surprise party for her that this expensive Inn in our town. But sadly it's a cocktail party and just for the adults :-( There are 150 people going and I've literally NEVER been to a surprise party before so I wanted to go so much!! :-( I remember in 6th grade me and one of my friends were trying to plan this whole huge surprise party for one of our other friends..and it never happened lol We made a guest list, a list of food/drinks to buy and everything..I wonder what happened with that haha Sixth grade was like the year of so many parties..I remember like everyone I knew had a party that year, I feel like I was going to them like all the time
I can't believe Thanksgiving's next week! Loosing a week of school is making everything feel different. Like suddenly it seems like time and this year is going by so fast! Like we are already halfway through November..it like JUST started!! The months are going by so crazy fast this year!
My eyes are literally closing right now..I'm so tired This week has been way to much work, I'm so glad tomorrows finally Friday! Ok I'm going to go look over my Latin vocab one last time for my quiz tomorrow and then go to SLEEP()! Sorry again in took me so long to write back..all of the teachers at my school have been giving such an incredible about of work this week, everyone thinks it's because of the week we lost due to the storm. So hopefully it gets better

Sorry it's been a while since I've written...hurricane sandy basically turned life upside down here lol We've had no school this entire week and aparently might not go back until next Wednesday..but I think we'll go back Monday. I only lost power for a day but almost all of my town is still in the dark. And the damage was pretty bad too...tho not nearly as bad as ny and new jersey. Along the coastline in ct got hit really badly (my aunt lives there and their streets were flooded--they were forced to evacuate before the storm). Anyway..so yeah crazy times. But storms and power outages really bring my town together. It's been pretty fun hanging out with family friends at different houses that have generators..everyones actually really good spirited about it. Halloween is pospomed (trick or treating) until Sunday night..so yeah another interesting turn of events. Anyway, how was the storm for you???
That's awesome your school is so spirited! Mine's pretty spirited too..we have a school store that sells sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts and stuff with the school logo so a lot of kids get those. I would say the jocks are definitely the most spirited tho lol
Our pep rallies are outside because we have so many kids at my school that our auditorium and/or gymnasiums aren't big enough to fit everyone in at once. And yeah I know..the weather has not been our side with those pep rallies!! Although they made an announcement that there is going to be another spirit week and pep rally in the spring so thats good (:
I'm glad you're feeling better!! Whatever it was that made you feel sick, I hope it doesn't happen again!! I'm better now too which is good...I really just needed some rest.

Yeah exactely, our semester grades are a combination of our grades from two marking periods. I like how your school does it MUCH better!! Your schools system sounds like it makes it a lot easier to do well. My school is pretty grueling (idk if I spelled that right lol) when it comes to academics.
Yes, I do live in a pretty big town but theres more to why I get that many trick or treaters at my house. I live on the main street in my town (I think I've told you that) and halloween has become somewhat of a legend on my street that kids from other towns actually come to my town on halloween night to go trick or treating on my street..lol It's so much fun!! I was so sad when they announced that halloween was canceled because of the hurricane because it was canceled last year too and I'm going to be going off to college after next year! But then my mom and my nextdoor neighbor went and knocked on every house on my street, got this petition together and called the first selectman or whoever and somehow (this was a day long..very tiring/confusing process) were able to get halloween to be rescheduled to Sunday night!
Yeah I know last year was insane! We did have 0 snowdays here too..but we had 10 days off due to storms. 5 days for Hurricane Irene in August-September and then 5 more days for storm Alfred in October. Soo crazy. This year our last day of school was really early and we got 5 built in snowdays because once again we aren't getting February vacation (which if you ask me is NOT worth it) so we will still be ending on the same day after this storm. But chances are it won't be like last year and we will have SOME snowdays so we'll see how it goes :/

Oh yeah psdri sounds basically just like what powerschool is for us lol Although I think powerschool is used in different places across the country.

Yeah I would imagine AP history would be REALLY hard..but you're totalling right it will completely pay off when you take the test at the end of the year (: Just think of that!! And you are totally smart enough to do really well in the class even tho it may be like pushing yourself a little.
Haha that's so funny, after I went to the college fair at my school last year (and I was a sophomore!) all of the different colleges I talked to and have been spamming me with emails too. Everyone in my grade have been joking around about how many college emails they get in a day lately lol This one kid in my english class just deletes them all without even looking to see what schools they're from...I don't think thats so smart because there may actually be useful information about what could be the perfect school for you!
Yeah, I know I really need to get a move on my college visits as well! I'm visiting Quinnipiac Univarsity in two weeks for their open house day..but that's all I have lined up so far.
Omg I Knew You Were Trouble is my favorite song on Taylors new album!! It is so unbelievably catchy! Usually I prefer her country songs a bit more then her pop ones but after listening to that song just once I was hooked lol I actually haven't listened to her entire album yet. I've listened to most of the songs on YouTube and so far I've loved them all! I don't think Taylors ever written a song I didn't like..lol She's definitely my favorite singer! I love Red too!!
Omg ******CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING YOUR LICENSE****!!!!! That is so awesome girl!! It must feel so great to have your license and know that all that hard work paid off!!

Thanks!! Yeah, I did get a little too worked up and nervous for that presentation..lol I have had some pretty bad experiences with presenting tho. But next time I'll remember how this time went ok and hopefuly I'll be more confident. I think practicing a lot a head of time (I basically memorized my paper over the weekend lol) really helped too.
You're school sounds like a nice size (: Mine has just over 2000 kids total. And on average there are 500 per grade...tho my grade is more like 550 (we are the biggest grade at my school right now).

Yeah I know a lot of sophomores who are taking the PSATS this year...but its funny because last year I don't remember knowing of anyone doing that lol Because they don't offer it to sophomores at my school, so you would have to go to some other school on like the Saturday after.
Yeah..I left like 4 of them blank on the second math part lol I had no idea where to even begin with a few of those..so guessing would NOT have been a smart move.
I know, I want my scores so much too!! I can believe we have to wait 2 months :-( I hope we both did well!!
Yeah, I'm planning on taking the SAT in January. I'm going to take a course like right before it. My mom thinks it's best to start taking the SAT really early on because then you can keep taking it and trying for a better score and you'll have more time and opportunities to do that. Most people I know are taking the SAT in May tho.

This week has been going ok for me. It's spirit week so that's always fun (: I've had some virus all week tho which hasn't been great. I haven't felt that sick really but I've been SOOO tired..I'm starting to worry it might be mono or something. But I had free at the end of the day today so my mom picked me up early and I'm just relaxing which is good (:
We're supposed to have a pep rally tomorrow but I think it's going to be canceled because it's supposed to rain and thunder all day.
Junior/Senior board sounds like a great thing to be a part of! My school doesn't have that..we just have student council which does similar things. Yay that's awesome about homecoming!! (:

Oh, I have a 90 in math right now which I'm SO excited about!! I've gotten 100s on like the past 3 quizzes and test! I've never done this well in math..my goal is to end the first marking period with an A which would just be SO incredible because well like I said..I've never gotten an A in math since high school started. (: So that's good!
When does your first marking period end? Mine ends on November 2nd.

Haha yeah, be glad you haven't had to do OPs..they are pretty difficult to right. I personally prefer assignments with a little more structure rather then just "write about anything"...especially if you have to read it to the class! lol

That's so cool you were born in Boston and you've moved so many times! At least you haven't had to move a lot to different states..that would take some MAJOR adjusting and getting used to and I could imagine it would be hard to keep making new friends and then leaving them.
Yeah that's really to bad about the JB concert..I can imagine those tickets must be really hard to get your hands on considering I've never known anyone whose gone to one of his concerts lol
But who knows, there could be another contest at some point! How fun would it be if we could go to one of his concerts together?! :-D
Yeah I know, going to all of those concerts is something that I'm very grateful I got to do. Especially the Selena Gomez one in August 2011 when I got to meet and have my picture taking with Selena! Whenever I tell anyone that they like don't believe me and get so jealous haha I came out pretty bad in the picture tho but whatever its the experience that matters. And Allstar weekend was opening for her who my sister and I also liked at the time..that was definitely the best concert I've been too...plus it was outside which was so nice! Yeah Taylor Swifts was amazing too..it was during her Speak Now tour. For the Jonas Brothers one it was outdoors as well but it was POURING...yeah definitely an interesting story. We were all wearing rain panchos and trying to watch the concert while being drenched with rain..lol

Yeah so many kids I know are getting brand news cars just handed to them also. Yeah, I see your point. Personally I would feel nervous if everything was getting handed to me throughout my whole childhood and teenage years because I'd know that when I'm on my own my parents are going to be paying for my life anymore and I won't have learned how to provide for myself.
Your visit to URI sounds so great! That's so nice you got to see like EVERYTHING including dorms! I wish I could have gone..it sounds like you really got a good feel of what the place is like!

Ugh no calculator portions of a standarized test..I would NOT do well with that either! But you're smart, I'm sure you will do just fine! Just try to stay calm and remember what you've been taught..I'm sure you'll do good! And at least it's the last week! It reminds me of CMT's (Connecticut Mastery Test) which you take in grades 3-8 in CT. It's two weeks long and covers every subject like multiple times..ugh March was always my least favorite month becase of that.
Yeah, let's make a plan..you go into your math tests confidently and I'll go into my english presentation cofidently and then we will both do amazingly well (: lol...hopefuly
This weekend..I had a PSAT prep course last night which was L-O-N-G and not at all fun but at least it was helpful..wow PSATS are Wednesday! :O
And then today..just a homework day while my sister went to the open house of that private school she's looking at for next year.
SO yeah..not a totally exciting weekend for me..and this week is going to be pretty stressful and strenuous too...I'm just looking forward to next weekend (when I can finally relax) lol

Omg my last comment got edited SO much! They took away the names of schools I was talking about and even added words I didn't write..ugh that's annoying.
Anyway yeah taking Child Development I totally paid off, as I knew it would. I mean that was just one semester and if you get through it you can do a total of 4 semesters working in the pre-k. I'm doing Child Development II this semester and then next year I'm doing Early Childhood Education I and II both semesters which is like the next levels where you actually teach lessons in the preschool.
Aw well hopefuly your first student council meetings soon so you can find out about homecoming! Our homecoming is this friday night but I'm not going to go. Nobody likes the homecoming at our school. I've never gone..it's at this really ritzy plaza in a nearby town which sounds cool but idk everyone says it isn't any fun. Plus I don't have a dress or anything.
It's actually not an all girl school it just winds up that more girls choose to go there because it's all about working with kids which I guess more girls have an interest in..lol But idk I'll have to check it out. I better find out when their open house is..it's like over 3 hours away so we will have to make a daytrip out of it.
Yeah so 2 of my presentations were today..one was Child Development and the other was History. The Child Development one went fine but the history..not so much. The idea of presenting doesn't even freak me out but then when I'm standing in front of the class reading from something my voice always starts shaking and I can barely do it...ugh definitely my number 1 weakness that I HAVE to get over lol And I have to read a 3 page paper in front of the class in english next Monday...ughh :-(
Yeah going to that coffee shop was fun last weekend (: Aw that cafe sounds really nice! You moved? I never knew that! I've lived in the same house my whole life...which I guess is pretty boring, I really can't picture living anywhere else now tho haha
Your town sounds so cute!! My town has more of the big name purchandise stores..hardly any cute little shops. I guess we have some tho..but they are all really expensive so I don't really go to them :/

I don't know why they stopped giving us Columbus Day...our school district just wants us to get in as much school as possible I guess..sigh lol Yeah ikr, EVERYONE gets Columbus Day off! I don't know of another town anywhere that goes to school..well I guess there probably is one somewhere but not in CT!
Did you win the Justin Bieber tickets?!? At least you had a bigger chance since your friend would take you if she won..but yeah I could imagine there would be a lot of girls wanting those tix haha
I'm so excited for both of those CDs to come out too! Um for 1D I'll probably just download the songs that I really like from the album because I'm not like a huge fan and don't love every one of their songs..altho I do love some of them lol But Taylors, I will definitely buy! Sorry, I wrote back last Sunday but it didn't post!! And I had way to much homework the past two nights to rewrite it :-( I usually save my replies just in case they don't post so I can just copy and paste it again..but yeah I forgot to do that this time :-(
Anyway, yeah I'm the exact same..I really don't want to go at all far for college. I would miss my mom and my sister SO much!! I don't get how these people can just like take off halfway across the country and be happy..I would be miserable lol
No, I actually don't live in the capital. I'm like an hour away..lol I live in western connecticut. Yeah my town and county is VERY suburban too! My county is actually the second richest county in the United States after some county in California (interesting fact, I just learned from my mom the other day :p). Anyway my family..totally nowhere close to rich so it can get pretty annoying. Like my friend..she gets EVERYTHING she wants and is beyond spoiled it's like hard to take sometimes. But then I just remind myself that all of these kids who have parents buying them every last thing are going to have to find their own way in this world at some point and it's going to be even harder for them because they aren't used to working for anything.
Your town sounds so nice!! Mine is pretty big so we don't really have that "everybody knows everybody" feeling..which seems so nice!! Reminds me of Gilmore Girls..haha
Yeah, so that sensory program thing last weekend that I was volunteering at actually went pretty well! Most of the parents stayed with their kids so that was VERY helpful. And so I mostly just talked with the kids and did these crafts alongside them. The program is once a month and every month it has like a different theme with a special guest. Like this month it was art, next month it's dance, then music and then..hmm I forget what comes after that lol
But yeah it was a lot of work helping to clean up afterwards (it took like 2 hours!!)..but yeah just gotta keep reminding myself "this will look good for college"..lol
Yeah I'm the same way tho, kids with dissabilties..definitely not my area of expertise. You sound like you're so good with kids too! (:
You would love the child development class at my school..you just basically get to leave high school and go to preschool for an hour..it's like a breath of fresh air haha

How did you like Roger Williams?! I really liked it went I went to that open house last April..I thought everybody was really friendly and I just LOVED how it was like right on the water!! Oh and my mom was just mentioning how we should go visit Providence college (I really want to visit like all of the Rhode Island and Connecticut schools that might interest me) beause i really want to go to school in CT or RI.
Hmm last weekend was pretty busy for me. Or Saturday was anyway..Sunday was just a stay at home homework day. On Saturday morning my sister had her big figure skating test that she's been training for, for months..now she's eligable to try out for the competitive team and to be in the holiday show. So that was exciting that she passed that..I was at the rink for like all of Saturday morning. Then I had my volunteer job at that program at the library. After that my sister and I went out for an early dinner with my dad to celebrate his birthday which was last friday. And then later on I went to the movies with my friend to see The Amazing Spiderman. We saw it at the theater on my street that only charges $2 a movie but gets movies a couple months after they come out..like that one came out in July I think. Anyway it was pretty good and it was fun because a lot of people we knew were there so we met up with some people..just a fun night out overall (:
Soo yeah that was my weekend..which feels like so long ago now! And this weekend is taking forever to get here!! But tomorrows one of my better cycle days and Friday is an early dismissal day in my town for "staff development"..the first Friday of every month is an early dismissal. So yeah I'll make it lol Though I have to admit this week has not been so great :-( I hope you've been having a better week!! Only 2 more days! (:

Oh that's so cool, my school has a pretty substantial college fair too! I went last year..it's mostly for juniors and seniors but sophomores are aloud to go too and I just casually talked to some of the people from the schools and picked up A LOT of pamphlets! lol It was pretty fun (: I'm planning on going on a bunch of college tours and open houses this year too. My mom told me to make a list (still haven't had the time to..lol) of schools I would want to visit so that we can start visiting them on weekends..well ones close by anyway. Although honestly I am like 100% positive I'm going to choose a school in new england..I just don't want to go really far from home, not my thing lol
But yeah I can't wait for the college fair at my school this year..it's actually in like March here tho :-D
Yeah, last year I went to the open house day and took a tour of Roger Williams University..I really loved it, definitely a school I am keeping in mind. It's funny the school colors at Roger Williams and the mascot are the same as my high school :p Ooh yeah well I think you should still definitely take a tour of the school even if it is so close..because if you really love it and it offers what you are looking for, that doesn't really matter. But yeah that is debatable..30 minutes..hmm idk what I would do! haha
For starting your babysitting service..do you have any places in your town where there are open bulletin boards for people to post ads or help wanted flyers..stuff like that? We have one in our Big Y and coffee shops for example that people really do look at. If you do have a place like that I suggest you make a really friendly/colorful looking flyer listing basic info about your babysitting service (not your full name) but maybe your age and if you have any previous experience with kids..something that will catch the eye of parents of young kids. And then you can cut tabs on the bottom with your phone number on them so people can tear them off easily. A big part of getting a babysitting job going is word of mouth too..like once you babysit for one family, chances are they will mention you to their friends who might need a sitter..the hard part is getting started lol Good luck!! That's so great you signed up for student council! That should be really fun..everyone I know who does it loves it! My school has DECA too! Our schools sound pretty similar in some ways! I actually was thinking of doing DECA this year but the periods available for working in the school store (which is mandatory to be a part of DECA) didn't fit with my schedule. It was pretty much a last minute idea I had in August tho when I was trying to figure out what else I could fit into my schedule..so most everything was filled up by that point. Next year I'm planning to be SO on top of what courses I want to take so that I can be sure to get in, in May when we register for our courses for the next year. I mean it's great that we are allowed to come in August to make changes..but it's good to have everything set (:
I'm joining the Future Teachers of America club at my school this year which starts next week. It's really cool because you take field trips to daycare centers and pre-schools all the time. Plus it will look good on my college application because that is what I'm going to focus on (elementary education..and working with children) so it's good to have as many experiences on my resume as possible.
Yeah, so pre-school is going great! Today we took them outside to ride tricycles and blow bubbles and stuff..it was pretty adorable!
The sweet 16 I'm going to is September 28th..so next Friday night! (: I'll definitely let you know how it goes! That's awesome you got invited to another one! What is this one going to be like?
Yeah that storm was weird..it seemed like SO severe at the time but then we woke up the next morning and it was like it had never happened. Like there weren't any power outages in MY town that I know of..which judging by the wind that night we were positive there would be. Aw, I'm the same way when I don't get the right amount of sleep! That's why I like force myself to be in bed at a certain no matter how tired I am..because staying up late and not getting a restful night sleep does NOT work for me!
I know I totally agree, it's INSANE how behind you get in high school after just missing a day! I haven't missed a day yet..*fingers crossed* I stay healthy, it really is a huge hassle. So that's great you were able to get the work so you won't have to deal with that! And I hope your doctors appointment went well!
Have fun at the football game, let me know if your team wins!! Yeah my school does have big football games. Our biggest one is our "Thanksgiving Football Game"..the night before Thanksgiving with our biggest rival. They beet us the past two years so hopefully we win this year! My friends and I always go to that!! It's fun because it's the beginning of the Thanksgiving mini vacation and it's pretty freezing outside but we're all bundled up and drinking this really good hot chocolate they sell there. I sorta think of that game as the end of fall and beginning of winter (even tho it isn't really) lol
Omg that's SO excited you're sooo close to getting your license!!! I KNOW you are gonna pass, you've prepared so well! GOOD LUCK!!!
