I did not do well @ Feile Samhain, but then I did do well at my class feis, although no firsts (which is what I needed to move up-this is slightly ironic because at Dance for Life, I would have had the same competition, and probably (maybe) 1 or 2 girls from other schools, and I placed 2nd in three different dances, but couldn't move them up. I was most excited about the reel- I was in Novice in that and I got 2nd.) Good luck this weekend @ your feis.

I can't do Boise- my mom isn't willing to drive that far, plus my dad could be traveling. I didn't place in anything at Dance for Life (unless you count a four-hand with two groups that we placed second in). I recently found a really good band-the Gotherd Sisters. They went to Comerford a while ago, and now they're this really good band- all three play the fiddle, and they are coordinated enough to dance while doing so. They are really good!

I placed second in my reel @ Emerald city. I was2nd in the 14&O category. Are you doing Dance for Life? They have the grades there. (just sayin', they're pretty fun. I'm only in second grade tough in them, because I didn't know enough reel steps to do grade 3)

YEah, it's a used school dress. Did you know (I just found this out) that even though I've never competed my hardshoe, it's still beg. 2, because I've been competing going on 3 years now and after 18 months, it moves up so that all those who did just start have a chance? The solo dresses are so pretty, don't you agree? At my school (It's the really long name one that has two capital "S" in it and hosts dance for life) we are told when we are allowed a solo dress and then one of the teachers takes your measurements so you can either buy used or get a new one. My mom said that if I stick with it that long she's going to go online and find a pattern and learn how to sew one (which means getting a new sewing machine because ours has been broken for probably 4 or 5 years). I just sprained my ankle and school's out and so I'm sitting at home with barely anything to do.

You should totally go to the Portland feis. There are two in September/October. (Feile Samahain is the one in October and you dress up like you are going out trick-or-treating [I've never been, but I want to go]) I just got moved up into Novice and I'm doing the Dance for Life feis in July with a brand new school dress. I'm trying to save up for an iPod, part of the dress and a full wig all at the same time. A few months ago I got a new pair of ghillies in Portland during my Spring Break. School's almost out, and I am so excited because my Irish dance school may do a huge workshop at the end of the summer to prepare us for the Portland feis. But I'm also a little sad, because I'm not in Prizewinner so I'm missing out on this thing thats like a play, but you Irish Dance. I had been having trouble with my reel, then at one feis won 3rd out of 4 people (the 4th person tied with me) so we all moved up to Beg. 2, then at the next feis won 2nd out of a lot of people (my first 2nd place, by the way- I was hoping to get my first second and my second first at the same feis but it didn't work out that way, just first second place) (In the last three years, I have gotten three thirds-I'm hoping for two seconds at the next feis, and one first (and, as I'm starting my hardshoe, so I'll still move up, 3 thirds). How are your placings currently?

Hey!!!
Long time no chat! ...Guess what!
I have all my softshoe dances in Beg. 2! And I'm competing this weekend! Plus my parents are going to go together with some of my other relatives to get me a dress, because I (if I move up to Novice) am going to need one. At the Pacific NW Championships, I was the only beginner from my school on Sunday who had a jumper and not a school dress. I'm so excited!
P.S. Did you see what will be in Hawaii in July! Check feisworx!

hey girl-io i saw your comment on the christian club page with your question about your dance show. i know you left that comment a while ago and your question might have already been answered but just in case it wasnt.....
1st of all im so sorry to hear that you messed up on stage. that can be totally embarassing [i know, ive danced on stage before too] but the audience usually cant tell nearly as much as you can. God listens to ALL of your prayers even when you feel that they arent meaningful enough. he does everything for a purpose, so your mistake could have been his way of teaching you something or somehow glorifying him. he causes all things to work together for good. so even though it def. wasnt fun, he can use that stuff to bring you closer to him. God absolutely listened, but he just had another plan for that time. Smileif you ever have any other questions about anything at all you can count on me

I take Upper ballet class on Monday, Ballet and pointe on Tues. Modern and Adult ballet (helps adults learn ballet, but I take it to perfect my moves) on Wed. More ballet on Thurs, and Ballet and Upper ballet on Sat. plus a rehearsal!

Oh ya... I love Cake Boss, I can't imagine cutting his cakes!! There so good!!

well ive worked really hard and im happy to say i can do a right and a left split Tong
well what helped me is squats. like put your feet in a ballet 2nd position and grand plie. those help your flexibility. also when you are down in the split trying to touch the floor, if your not all the way down, lift your back knee off the floor and push your hips down. this will help you get closer tot he ground.

oh i dont take gymnastics and cheerleading i just like to watch them Tong nah i just take dance classes. but im sure that gymnastics would definitley help with flexibility.

i take my ballet, lyrical, and tap classes on monday
then my hiphop/jazz class is on tuesday
and my pointe class is on wednesday.

oh that's cool! well I would love to be professional in all types of dance not just ballet. dance for me is like my fave thing in the whole world and I love ballet a lot but I dont want it to be the only thing I go professional in.
