Everyone struggles with something. Whether it's acne, boys, suicide, self-confidence, friends, sin, God, life, money, family, school.... just remember to pray and give them all to God, to let him take over.

GBTTB #5: You shall not murder

Okay, so not a lot of us (hopefully none of us) have ever physically murdered someone. But have you ever considered that it has a double meaning? How about murdering someone’s spirit? Words can slice like a knife. And a knife can murder someone. Insults can seriously hurt someone. Everyone should know that, because we’ve all felt insecure or been insulted by someone. God put it in the Ten Commandments because it’s important. I CHALLENGE YOU to go a full day without insulting someone, to their face OR behind their back. Don’t say anything negative about anybody for a day. At the end of the day, you’ll feel better about yourself, and you’ll have spared some people’s feelings. Just try it.

Did this help you? Think there’s more to say? Post it here!

pondhouse on 2/17/2011 8:29:55 PM

What does GBTTB stand for?? I understand the messages, I was just curious as to the acronym. These are amazing!! Thank you so much! God bless!

jewels101 on 2/17/2011 7:03:06 PM

Hey I am sorry that anything happened between cheerleadingcutie and I. I just wanted to let her know that what you are doing is amazing, and that she shouldn't be putting it down. I am not offended by her, because I know that God is real and true, but it seemed she didn't. I love what you are doing, and anyone can feel free to post on my page...God bless everyone of you! Smile

jewels101 on 2/17/2011 6:52:39 PM

Pondhouse,

Well if I did date a jew I wouldnt be with him if he tried to seperate me between God. And I KNOW that God never said blacks and whites being together, I was using an analogy. I mean, what if what the jewish believe is true ? Honestly, you have to keep an open mind and realize we dont know whose is the truth Smile
But no matter what happens, I will always believe in God. Its a good idea in my opinion to know someone is watching over you, keeping you safe.

charliethedancer on 2/16/2011 10:39:05 PM

i love this group! thanks for starting it!

babewithbrains9319 on 2/16/2011 1:13:13 AM

Pondhouse,

Well God is forgiving right ? If I truly like or love a person who isn't Catholic I'll date them no matter what. I mean Love is something not even God himself can stop, right ? If he's nice and forgiving like I hear, he wouldn't send to me to Hell for dating another religion. When you think about it, its racist. Its like God saying whites cant be with blacks.

charliethedancer on 2/11/2011 11:49:12 PM

Hi! I heard about ur Christian group and would love to be a part of it. Thx for making it!

Did you know the Shortest verse in the bible is:
John 11:35 "Jesus Wept".
Interesting huh?

fluteplayer629 on 2/6/2011 9:22:51 PM

I just wanted to share my two fav verses from the bible and hope they build you up just like I use them to help me.P.S. I'm seriously sorry but I never memorize the book and chapter, so...
1."You are fearfully and wonderfully made."
2."If God is for you, who can stand against you?"
These are seriously my fav verses.

realchk on 2/5/2011 5:06:20 PM

Uhm pondhouse,

i was reading over your profile and saw your perfect boyfriend...would you not date a jew ? my best guy friend is jewish and im catholic and i couldnt care less if we started dating because of that. is it bad if i date and or get married to a jew ?

charliethedancer on 2/5/2011 12:28:40 AM

Hi Pondhouse,

haha do you have a real name i can call you or is pondhouse fine ? i read the challenge to not complain to my parents and i am truly going to try this. i, and this might sound bad, but its because i havent really been thinking about religion, realised i sin alot. sometimes i say things i dont mean, and i pray to god for forgiveness. i say eight prayers each nite , half of them i made up myself. i was just wondering, how can i become closer to god ?

charliethedancer on 2/5/2011 12:22:45 AM

GBTTB #5: Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the Land the Lord your God is giving you.

Honor your father and mother. How many times have you heard that one before? Although you may have heard it several times, it never hurts to review its meaning. Has your parent/guardian (yes they count too) ever asked you to do a task that you didn’t want to do? Did you obey, but grumble and complain the entire time? That right there is sinning. Colossians 3:23 and Philippians 2:14 talk about doing your work without complaint as well as with all your heart. You may not like the work you are doing, but make sure you do it with a positive attitude. Listen to your parents (or guardians) when they talk to you. This week, I CHALLENGE YOU to not only listen to you parents (or guardians), but also go out of your way at least once to spend time with them. Play a board game, talk during dinner, have a family movie night, or even just answer their questions with more than three words. I know you will have a good time (if you keep a positive outlook) and so will your family.

Did this help you? Think there’s more to say? Post it here!

hey, cool profileSmile
I'm also catholic, can I join the Fearless Females group?

creativekid123 on 2/4/2011 8:11:18 PM

Hey pondhouse!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm so glad that you made a Christian group! This is great news and God is truly awesome!! You are smart to try to share the love of God with others through GL.

To others who oppose:

If you don't agree with Christianity, that is fine. Just don't join the group. We are not trying to offend by posting Bible verses, we are trying to help other Christians.

Also, to all girls out there. I have a GREAT book series!! It is called the CHRISTY MILLER SERIES and they are amazing Christian books for teenage girls. I have fallen in love with them and read the whole series. They are by Robin Jones Gunns (who has written other Christian books for girls) and they teach superb lessons!!!!!!!

Thanks and God bless,

Judith M.

Sasza on 2/2/2011 6:22:15 PM

Hey Pondhouse!
My Church's priest just was saying (Sunday) how in order to change someone it cannot be by guilt or shame (because if you do it that way then they don't know the real meaning of the change etc) and so you have to change someone by loving them (so if someone sins then you can't change them by guilt you have to love them) so maybe you wanna post something about that? just a suggestion Smile

*Sigh* on 2/1/2011 9:58:10 AM

Dear Pondhouse,

Hay well my name is Charlie and I'm catholic but im sorta clueless about the bible and stuff and was wondering if you could teach me.

charliethedancer on 1/31/2011 8:57:05 PM

Just thought about church today with our little preschool buddies. There so sweet. Try to remember this good better best never let it rest till the good is better and the better is best. That is what my priest says all the time during mass. It's proven to be really insperational.

hey,

im a Christian so I was just wondering if i could maybe join your club? Thanks! Smile

biffo on 1/30/2011 9:35:45 PM

Hey there Fearless Females!
I don't like playing referee, but lately, there have been some issues with people being offended by other's comments. I just want to say that we have to try to not be offensive to others. It is okay if you disagree with someone else's opinions, but don't yell at them. Try telling them your side without telling them that they are wrong or insulting them in anyway. We are all trying to become better Christians, so let's act like it girls.

BE FEARLESS
pondhouse

pondhouse on 1/30/2011 7:59:03 PM

Hey pondhouse! Thank you for clearing it up for me! I honestly didn't try to be mean or offend anyone. I am interested in Christian beliefs and would enjoy following along, but I do have a favor to ask you. jewels101 and pigletlover left comments on my page. I talked to both of them. jewels101 wasn't that bad but pigletlover was. If you could calm her down for me that would be great. I would also appreciate if you checked the comments they put on my page. Thank you so much!

CheerleadingCutie on 1/28/2011 4:21:50 PM

Hey, I think its really great what you're doing here! Try not to take what my friend, CheerleadingCutie, said too personally. She's a little stubborn and likes hings her way. But of course, God gave us the fredom to believe what we wish. She knows that there is someone up there, though, watching over us.

Doodle600 on 1/28/2011 4:11:35 PM

GBTTB #4: Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Wow! Another long one! This commandment is, in my opinion, one of the most forgotten and/or ignored commandment. It is also the trickiest one. How many people do you know who work on Sunday? Most likely, you know plenty. Now, I don’t think this commandment is telling you to quit your job if you are required to work on Sundays (but it’s better if you don’t), but it IS saying that it’s important to take time on Sunday to not just relax, but spend time with God. If you go to church, it doesn’t mean you follow this rule. Your heart has to be into the worship, or you’ll get nothing out of it. Unfortunately, this commandment is almost impossible to follow fully, but you can take 10 minutes to just relax and be with God. I CHALLENGE YOU to take time out of your Sunday schedule and fit God in. The more time the better, but 5 minutes is better than none. Spend the time praying, singing worship, reading the Bible, or anything you can think of that will help you come closer to God.

Did this help you? Think there’s more to say? Post it here!
P.S. Sorry this took so long, but I kept trying to repost it and it wouldn’t work

pondhouse on 1/27/2011 5:50:41 PM

Hey, I have a question.
I'm not sure, is meditation wrong (like to God)? Because I've heard that about yoga. I think the exercise part is fine, but when you meditate, just clearing your mind or something, is that wrong? Or is there some other weird, religious yoga thing that' "wrong," but not meditation?

Sasza on 1/26/2011 5:19:32 PM

About using His name . . . The Bible emphasizes the use of His name as sacred. Various books say that the Israelites "called on the name of the Lord" - notice how they didn't call on Him, they called on His name. To know someone's name is to know the person. Calling on His name at the time of death can save you. That means A LOT. If it's important enough to save people, it deserves respect. Find something else to say instead of swearing (it's just as bad as using other curse words). If someone around you says His irreverently, just say "don't say that." It makes a difference, girls!

pondhouse- thanks for that post. ive broken that commandment more times than i can count.

karategrrl on 1/13/2011 9:03:40 PM

GBTTB #3: You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Now this is a commandment that I am pretty sure ALL of us have broken. Have you ever said, “Oh my God” or “Jesus Christ!”(in an Oh My Gosh! sorta way) or anything like that? If so, you have broken this commandment. This may seem like a minor commandment, but let me remind you that there are no minor commandments. God holds all sins as equal sins. And all sins are bad sins. There are no little sins or big sins, just sins. God believed that this sin was so important that he put it in the Ten Commandments! We have to watch what we say, for using God’s name in vain is a very, very bad thing. Another thing that is said in this commandment is that the Lord will MAKE you feel guilty for using his name in vain. He wants you to feel bad for your sin, so he does. God acts as your conscience in order to stop you from sinning. THIS IS A BIG DEAL. Instead of substituting gosh for God, try to stopping saying it altogether. Now, obviously you can’t just stop all of a sudden, but you can lessen the amount of times you say the Lord’s name in vain. If you try hard enough, eventually you will stop. I CHALLENGE YOU to stop yourself when you start to misuse the name of the Lord.

Did this help you? Think there’s more to say? Post it here!

pondhouse on 1/13/2011 8:11:03 PM

singsongsat- At your age, boyfriends aren't always the best idea. Dating is just preparation for marraige, and you're no where near even THINKING about getting married (at least, I hope so! XD) It sounds like you and your boyfriend at this point are more like really good friends. This is exactly how God wants it to be! Your future husband should be your best friend, and your true love. Maybe you should have a chat with your boyfriend- let him know that you really like how your relationship is now, and don't want to go any further for quite a while. That pretty much means that you're just good friends. (Or, if you prefer, friends with benefits. ;)) No matter what you decide to do, though, the most important thing is to include both your parents and God in your decision. Whatever you choose, it needs to please God, and God commanded us to honor our father and mother, so it needs to please them both. Laughing

~Jen

sustainia on 1/11/2011 11:05:21 PM

karategrll- Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car. You can be a Christian, totally in love with and walking with God, without going to church. However, in the Bible it says that when two or more people gather to worship God, there is power. There are also other verses that I can't remember exactly right now, but church IS very important. Pastors are given the spiritual gift of prophecy, which means that they can take scripture and say what God wants them to say about it. Also, joining a youth group or something like it will be a great help in your walk with God, mostly because of the accountability. Remember, though- if you don't go to church, the best thing you can POSSIBLY do is to READ YOUR BIBLE. Seriously. Laughing

sustainia on 1/11/2011 11:00:08 PM

thnx so much for this group! i so often need a christian opinion!okay, i have a boyfriend in seventh grade. weve been going for a/b 6 mnths now, but were not anywhere near serious. we havent kissed or anything, but we hold hands. i really like him and want to go to the movies with him, but our relationship hasnt really been official(no real dates yet), and my parents still dont know anything. how do i convince them to let me go without considering it a date? our little sisters are best friends, so that might help. breaking up is not considered one of my options.

singsongsat_449449 on 1/11/2011 12:24:01 AM

Hey girls! If you're on this page I'm pretty sure you're Christian. I can usually answer questions about your faith or Biblical questions. If you have any questions, or need advice comment on my profile.

~Pondhouse, sorry if you don't want this kind of thing on your page, but I thought, because you don't necessarily give personal advice, if someone needs that and whats someone Christian to talk to, they would probably be on here.

Sasza on 1/10/2011 9:44:22 PM

*Challenge*

This week, I challenge you to hold your tongue. Even when you're with your friends, avoid teasing that insults someone, even if it's all in good fun. Those jokes can truly hurt a person. Try to go a full day without making any insults, whether you're kidding or not.
Don't forget that you can challenge your fellow Fearless Females too! (just head your post like I did!)

pondhouse on 1/10/2011 9:19:54 PM

About piercings and tattoos, this is how I feel about it personally, in the Bible, it says our bodies are temples of God (symbolically). But, we want to take care of our bodies and treat ourselves with respect. I personally don't think tattoos and piercings are honoring to God (sure, one, and maybe two ear piercings are okay- I only have one). Also, when you're 70, those tattoos aren't going to be so pretty on wrinkly skin. It costs a lot of money to remove them to and it leaves scars, etc. If you disagree, comment on my profile, but no hate comments please. I'll disagree, but I do respect other people's opinion.

God bless. <3

Sasza on 1/10/2011 8:46:16 PM

btw heather99-i agree with kjm109 that god probably doesn't care about piercings and tattoos. it's what's inside that counts Smile
