party like a rockstar - hey girl! my computer has been down, sorry for the delay. I think that depends on alot. If he has only done them a few times before, but now regrets his choices, i don't see any reason why you should'nt like him. If he does them daily, and is addicted, i would reconsider liking him, because you don't want it to affect your health. Ask yourself this : "Does he have a nice personality?" "Is he kind?" "Do you enjoy being around him?" Make sure you answer yes to these questions before you set your heart on liking him. But, if you only like him because he is cute and if he has a drug problem, i would look at other people. I used to feel the same way about someone I liked, I hate the feeling of "this person would be perfect if they didn't do this." Let him know you are there if he wants to talk, because im sure he is going through mixed emotions with drugs and all. Just keep your heart opened to different guys, and you will be VERY suprised at what comes your way!!! Good luck!! Smile

thanks for the advice! i'll try that sometime, except first i need to start acting nicer. i've been superrr moody lately, i think its pms? haha Smile well anyway i have another question, could you help please? thanks! i think i like this guy. hes funny and cute and nice, the only thing...he does drugs. i dont know how often but i know he's done it before, more than once. also he's drank before. we're going into freshman year. this summer i've hung out with him a couple of times (without my mom knowing..) and i've started liking him a lot. i just wish he didnt do drugs and then he'd be perfect. do you think i should try to stop liking him because of him doing drugs? this is really important to me. thanks so much. <3

party like a rockstar - Hey girl! That is a tough sitch. Sometimes, parents can go a little too far. You should tell her that you would like to plan a "family meeting" to sit down and discuss the issue with her. She will be more open minded if you ask in a polite, adult manner. Once you sit down to talk with her, calmly ask her why she doesn't want you hanging out with guys. Once she explains, tell her how much you would like to get to know your guy friends better. Ask her if you could invite the guys, along with some of your girl friends, over to your house for pizza and movies. That way, she can meet them and she will know where you are, so she will be less hesitant. If she STILL says no, ask your guy friends if your mom could meet their parents. That might seem weird, but it just might convince her. As for the dating, if you meet someone you REALLY like, ask your mom if you can introduce them to her whenever it is a good time for her. But I would make sure your mom allows you to hang out with guys before asking her about a boyfriend. Also, make sure you are being responsible and acting like an adult around her. In time, she should trust you, even if it takes a month or so. But offering to have all of your friends (girls AND guys) over at your house, should convince her. Good luck girl! Things won't stay like this throught highschool, i promise Smile

hey Smile could you help please? so my mom is really overprotective and doesn't let me hang out with boys, is really suspicious, and all that. every time i want to walk to the park to hang out with friends she makes it a big deal and really complicated. i've hung out with guys before without her knowing, i just told her it was only girls. but its not as fun because then i'm always really paranoid when im hanging out with guys behind her back. she won't let me date all through high school!! (im going to be a freshman this year) its summer for me right now so im always bored and wanting to hang out with guys (especially my crush), but im scared if i ask her, she might get really pissed and then i wont be able to hang out with boys everr! whats the best way to approach her and ask her about this? thanks so much! i really appreciate it. Nat716- Don't let it scare you! Its almost the same thing, but with more activities and clubs to choose from. Make sure you are organized, that will make or break your grades, and when you have a project, do a little bit every night, instead of waiting until the night before. And ask teachers for help! It won't seem werid, other people will be thankful because they will proabably have similiar questions! As for a scoial life, don't worry about it. Join an activity or sport, and you will have plenty of friends to hang with. You guys can even get together for a study party with pizza and soda (sounds nerdy, but its REALLy fun!!!!!!!). Have a great highschool year, and enjoy it, they are the BEST years of your life!!!! Good luck girl!

I am about to start high school on August, and honestly I am sooo scared. I know that it's not much of a difference from middle school but all the pressure of balancing a social life and school (when it counts even more now) is a scary thought. HELP!

The place I started them was at my school's library. They're not that expensive (each one is around like $10) so you don't have to worry about that. If you do end up reading them you'll understand why I say things like "hawt", "nawt", "ah-mazing", "ah-nnoying", things like that.

hey! i saw ur MOD at 1 of the style articles about asking how to get a guys number. my friends and i were joking around, but this actually could work, if ur this kind of person. u could go up to the guy and be like "why do u never text me??" and he'll be like, well i dont have ur number, and u can be like "well, here u go, can i have urs?"
if u dont like that idea, just ask him if he has a phone.
