I totally get how you want the kindle but are afraid to ask for it because of the price.
What you could do is hint to your parents on what you would LOVE to receive on your special day and offer to compromise: maybe you can do the dishes for a month or ask your other party guests to donate a little money to buy the kindle Smile
But it really depends on whether or not you think your parents can afford it easily at the moment... If they don't buy it don't be upset: At least you tried your best and you'll have tons of other occasions to get one.
