Can you tell me what you think about the start of this story and give me some honest advice? This is for a writing contest, so I am doing it for fun. Thanks!!

“You know, I never thought riding in an airplane would ever be like this,” my friend Cassie chirps, as she puts her feet on the chair in front of her, “It’s actually really relaxing and fun! Let’s just hope we won’t crash or something!”
“You’re overreacting, there are over a hundred people on this plane,” I say and roll my eyes, “would you mind not trying to scare me?”
She giggles and starts to bounce her feet happily up and down on the chair in front of her. A man turns around and looks behind him at Cassie with his glaring red eyes. He tells Cassie to stop kicking and she rambles on about how this is her first plane ride. I slump in my chair and pull out a piece of gum and start to chew. This plane ride is never going to end.
Finally, we land safely and start to walk around the airport. I smell all these delicious foods. Cassie and I glance around and see that there are many choices; pizza, tacos, cheeseburgers, nachos, and other things unrecognizable.
“Looks like they have a variety of foods that we have in America,” I say. My stomach starts to growl and Cassie jerks away from me.
“Are you okay?” she asks.
“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just that my stomach vibrated, I’m really hungry,” I say. Cassie grabs my hand and guides me to a Café. She orders two Turkey Panini’s with potato chips on the side.
“Wow, Cassie! You really are my BFF. You knew exactly what I wanted!” She beams and takes our tray to an open table near a window. I love Italy already. It is pretty with all the different plants and animals. The sun is making my neck prickle with sweat. In America it would be in the evening by now. I have to get used to the time change. After all, we are staying here the whole summer.

Heyyy umm i need some advice well first off i really like this guy but he is one year older than me so we are in diff grades and i never see him except for passing periods and in the band room in the morning for like 20 mins and he told his mom that he wants to start dressing up because there is a girl that always dresses up and he was talking about me because his mom told my mom because they talk and stuff and he did dress up but what does that mean? And he is in math club with me and track too! Sooorry this is soo long but what does that mean and how can i talk to him and stuff?

Okay second problem is there anyway that you can skip a period? Because i have really baddd cramps on my period like really bad and i know for sure i am going to start on my Winter Formal and i sooo don't want to so if you know a way can you tell me??? Thanks so much!

Oh and for the star thing (***) you can make up a new signal like a fish (<><) Or a smiley face [:O)] so it won't be like you are 'copying someones idea'. Plus it would be more creative
