Hey, I saw your comment on the arm hair article saying that the advice is wrong and hair actually does grow back thicker...it actually doesn't. It's really only an illusion. Hair tapers at the end, so when you cut it down to the roots, it's going to look thicker, because the hair there is thicker than at the end of it. It feels thicker because it's cut straight across, exposing the thicker part of the hair. I know a lot of people think that shaving makes the hair grow back thicker, darker, and faster, but that's really not true. The advice on that article was actually correct, and considering the advice came from a professor of dermatology at Washington University at St. Louis, I think we can assume he knows what he's talking about.

Yeah, they are. The Quarter Horse look of the head practically lying on the ground doesn't fly for Arabians. Sorry, it's not collection. Many breeds "hunters" have their noses sticking way out in the air, but we demand our in and on the vertical. We also want round-knee action.
This might sound like I'm speaking a foreign language, unless you're pretty familiar with horses. I can explain things, but I don't want to bore you with what you might already know. You seem extremely intelligent and like you know a lot about horses already. Smile
Woo hoo! We got a ton of snow here! 2 days off of school and probably another one! Hooray!
Luv snow days. Only tolerable part of winter. Smile Tho my brother DID throw a snowball in my face when I was making a snow angel earlier today. Don't worry, I got him back. I took another snow ball and held it against his face. Nearly gave him frostbite. But I was a good big sis, I hugged him and apologized. LOL He's annoying but super cute and I love him.

I doubt that I'll make it to the olympics......my club is really small and its too expensive to skate the amount of time i would need to. and anyway, it would be SO hard finding a partner good enough, on the same level, about the same age, and thats a GUY. and yes, i know all about michelle.

*sigh* Some people just don't get the horse thing, do they? It's an obsession, it's a disease. It's not our fault we talk, draw, read, and dream about them 24/7/365. ROTFL
If you're going to read up on judging you can always research Arab horse forums and read those, they're totally interesting. The thing is, Arabs are judged TOTALLY different than other breeds.

I'm sure you'll be able to convince your parents. Tell them that since you can't have a horse, you at least want to be able to spend all the time you can with them. You might be surprised. Maybe they'll end up agreeing and when they go, they might really enjoy it. Horse shows are very interesting. I would suggest reading a book or something on how shows are judged before you go, so that you can judge along with the judges and see how your opinion compares with theirs. I do that whenever I'm not showing. If you do do that, remember that just because you didn't give the same placings the judge did doesn't mean you're not right. Poltics play a huge part in Arabian showing, and every judge has a different perspective of what the "right" horse looks like.
If you do go, make sure you watch a hunter under saddle class. That's what I ride, and I think it's the best. Smile I'm a bit biased.

wow really? most people dont even know what synchro is......i describe it as "like synchronized swimming on ice"

i love her too! (im pretty sure i've already established that though........) i doubt that she will get GOLD......but she will definitely do well......

i do WANT to be in the olympics.....but i know i wont. I cant do freestyle (my knees) but i LOVE synchro and ice dance. i could only go to the olympics for ice dance......but i still probably wont make it. Frown

haha me too. I wish i could volunteer at a zoo......the closest one is 1 1/2 hours away though.

Thanks! Sorry to hear you don't have a horse, that would TOTALLY suck. LOL I wouldn't know what to do with myself. You should find some horse shows coming up in your area and go watch-I think on arabianhorses.org they have some Arab shows that are coming up. Obviously, there won't be any for a while, unfortunately. Frown I like Morgans too, mostly because they're breeding for the Arab look. There's a Morgan in my area that is the coolest horse ever. His name's Bob and I swear, ANYONE can ride him. They always just throw people on him during the shows and he canters off and does his job.

i love horses too. I have only ridden one once........and i wasnt actually riding. i went through a hosre stage.....that was it though. now i pretty much like all animals. thats kool that ur going to volunteer at a ranch.

well, i do synchronized skating so i guess that kinda implies i like it too. Smile have u ever seen synchro?

i am SO excited about the olympics!!! my science teacher today was asking me. lol he knows like nothing about skating though so he was asking me who was skating and just asking so much about it. make sure u watch for rachel flatt. shes really good! i love to watch her.

♥ ur icon! An Arabian mare and her foal are just the most beautiful thing ever! I am a diehard Arab girl! LOL Do you have any of your own horses? I have 2 of my own (2 more at my house; one is my mom's and the other is my grandma's) a Quarter pony named Carmel and an Arab gelding named Kansas City (hence my profile name-we call him KC for short so it's KC Love). I show hunter and western pleasure. I can't wait for show season because I just got KC for Christmas so I'm ready to hit the ring! He's the highest quality horse I've ever had and I'm SUPER excited to kick some butt! ROTFL

Hey it looks like we have a lot of things in common!

i would disagree with ur post about eyebrow waxing. You wrote: Ick. I'm glad I don't wax. Matter of fact, I don't do anything to my brows. I don't shave, tweeze, pick, wax, or whatever other method you use! It's actually really rewarding. Yeah, I might not have that exact perfect eyebrow shape, but my eyebrows are great naturally! Also, I don't have to worry about going in for another painful experience when those little hairs grow back thick, dark and coarse. Ugh! So my advice to all girls, if you haven't started that stuff yet (or don't want to bother doing it anymore), let your brows grow naturally! It'll also save you a lot of time and money.

(its all a matter of opinion) its up to you if you get ur brows waxed or plucked or whatever!! i get mine done and i get SOOOO many compliments on how beautiful my eyebrows are!!! and its also a matter of self confidence-before i got mine done mine were crazy (i still got compliments though Smile )and i was embarrassed. now i feel a lot more confident! (BTW waxing doesnt hurt to me....i find the hot wax relaxing Smile )
