hey i play vball and i love it!! (: before the tryouts, like the day before, make sure you're prepared. practice for a little bit but dont practice too long or you'll get worn out and overwhelmed for tryouts! pack a bottle of water, maybe a snack, DONT FORGET UR KNEEPADS!! (:

during tryouts, just relax and tell yourself you can do it! make sure to call the ball and be loud, the coaches love communication! also, encourage the other girls and be nice. always dive and go for the ball! coaches also love to see that you're giving it your all, so dive for that ball, you're wearing kneepads so there's nothing to worry about!

after tryouts, dont worry yourself too much waiting for the phone call or the list to be posted or whatever, know that you did your best at tryouts and thats okay!! (:

also a great workout tip for vball is this one move we learned at practice. we call it the sockhop (: put two socks on the ground, about 2 foot and a half apart. put your feet together, start at one sock, and jump from side to side with your feet together from one sock to the other. its great for agility, and stuff. also do plenty of wallsits so you have strong legs for jumping! practice your spike approaches by jumping up and hitting the top of a doorframe in your house (make sure the door's open, haha!).

Hey I saw ur MOD q about vball n I hav some tips since I've played 4 about 4 yrs...serving: start underhand..if ur a righty, put the ball in ur left hand down 2 about ur knee...and put ur left foot 4ward..or vice versa if ur left(ball in right rite foot 4ward)..as soon as ur in position, make ur right hand in to a fist and swing ur arm back n forth a few times w/o hitting the ball 2 get a straight on swing, after the second or third time, hit the ball..but use the upright part of ur wrist(at the spot where u can feel ur pulse at times)...bumping: put ur hands on top of each other, right over left, and fold them so ur thumbs cross over each other..when the ball comes 2 u, bend at ur knees and move ur arms up ever so slightly, and when u do that, make sure ur knees r following ur arms..my coach always told my team: bend and extend....hitting(spikes): again, if ur a righty, start with ur left foot forward..take one step with ur rite, then left, then right, tiny jump together, then jump in the air with ur right arm back and left hand in the air pretending 2 block the sun, and swing as hard as u can...and hit the ball the same way and same spot as I said with serving...just don't make ur hand into a fist...and always make sure to follow through with ur bumps, sets, passes, and serves...hoped this helped girly!!!!!!
