Hey again! Sorry it took this long to get back to you! Anyway...finding a studio. Well there are only like 2 studios where I live so it wasn't too difficult. I recomend asking around (friends, family, etc.) about where someone might take dance lessons. Once you have a list compiled, you need to decided what it is that you really want. Strict training or dance for the fun of it? Private or class lessons? A studio that only offers one or two dance forms or one that has a variety to choose from? After you've figured that out and narrowed down your list a bit, then you want to visit these studios. With a parent, go to the studio and ask about the classes (ages, classes offered, teachers, dress code, prices, stuff needed, etc..anything you want). If they have and handouts or forms...take those too! Next ask if you could sit in on a class to watch. Most studios allow this and even encourage it. If you like what you see than go for it!

Yeah, no one cares at all. I take a ballet class so I have to wear ballet apparel (leotard, tights..) but for other classes you just wear comfortable stuff like sweats or shorts. Sometimes they'll have shoe requirements but other than that it's probably not that restricted as to what you can wear. I already knew about a studio because my sister has been taking tap there for a long time. But I would look on the internet. Or often times if you go looking around in local businesses like hair salons, studios will advertise there. And girls at school would probably know too. Just keep looking cuz dance is seriously amazing and fun!! -Emily

hey maggie! no problemm!! so what part r u in ur musical??? what musical is it???? and let me know how everything goes with your sister okay??? haha i understand i used to get scared asking my mom if we could talk or anything but one thing is: DO NOT drop hints, just say i need to talk to you, dont try to drop a hints because you might think your dropping a hint but ur really not. so let me know how it goes k?? can i spill something?? thx alright so my other friend probably has an eating disorder =[ she is like around 100 lbs and shes 4'11 so shes okk now but apparently its probabl going to worsen. apparently her mom called my mom yesterday because she was so concerned. and her mom wanted me to talk to my friend about it and try to make it all better. her mom thinks that she wont listen to her. my friends mom has told me friend that she is too skinny but she doesnt listen cuz its her mom saying it so it think that they want me to say something but im not sure how or what but i really dont want her to get sick. and i have noticed that shes starting to eat less and less and i know that if we dont get help soon she will probably become anorexic and then have to be in the hospital and be put on one of those special diet things!!! and i dont want that to happen but im sure what i can do because i honestly dont know if she would listen to me!!!!! do you have any ideas?? sorry im spilling this on you right now =[ its been on my mind a lot. write back soon!! anna =]

That book sounds so sad!!! I was going to go to the library today with my dad but its closed today. I love the bonus features for Twilight! I thought that the deleted scenes were really weird. I love that movie! I watched with my cousin last night and she kept getting mad because I was saying the lines along with the movie. So... how are you doing?

Heyy no prob I really hope you get to do dance!!! I dont take Hip-hop, but my friend does, so I'll get back to you on that one... In jazz, we do warm ups (splits, crunches, push-ups, stretches, and "hovers"). We also do various floor work including leaps, turns, jumps, and other dance-y moves (great description, i know ) Sass is a MUST for jazz lol Ballet is super boring, and if i describe it to you I may fall asleep right in the middle of typing, so I'm not even going to get into the (ignore the bad french spelling) grand jetes, pirowettes, pl- ZZZZZZZZZZ....... Is there a dance studio near you?? If so, ask them about what stage level you should take (beginning, advanced, etc.) because it differs from studio to studio. I take ballet and jazz. (Jazz is sooo much fun and ballet is kinda blah but it all depends on the person.) I would ask the people at the dance studio about what you should wear because a lot of studios have moderate to strict dress codes. Here is a basic guide line for what to wear: Jazz: Jazz pants (stretchy sweatpants), shorts, leggings, tights, leotards, camis and tanks, and tee shirts are all options where I take classes. You wear jazz shoes. (basically a combination of a tennis shoe and a ballet slipper. They have a split sole.) Hip-hop: Basically the same as jazz. You wear hip-hop shoes. (more toward the tennis shoe side of the scale. they have a split sole) Ballet: Usually has a more strict dress code. Leotards, tights, and maybe a ballet skirt are the only real options here. You wear ballet slippers (not to be confused with toe shoes), but as you progress, you may wear toe shoes. Those are some basic dress codes, but check with your studio first! Just come right up to your mom and ask to take lessons. I'm sure she'll understand. Good Luck!! **BEWARE!!** Dance lessons tend to be on the more expensive side, so make sure that you really want to do this before making any commitments!!

Hey, I saw your comment about dancing. I just started taking dance this year. The only problem I have is flexibility and that's not gonna come quickly, but it's possible. Other than that dance is easy to pick up. So, I say go for it! Because it's fun and even if you feel behind at first, nobody cares that you've just started. -Emily

Hi! I'm also a dancer, I started when i was 11 and im not much older than that now (don't wanna put my age on the internet!), but I worked really hard at ballet and jazz and most of my friends were in higher level classes than i was, but I was persistent and loved it right away and now I am at the level of my same-age friends! if you have any friends at school who go to a dance studio you should def ask them about what they do and get some more info! dance is really fun and REALLY good for you so you should do it! hope this helps!

Hey girl! I read your comment about taking dance lessons. I just started dance when I was 12...so you are deff not too late!! However, I would recomend finding a studio that caters to all ages and has classes based more on skill level than age. This way, you won't end up either taking a really hard class with people your age, or a beginner class with like 3 year olds. Good luck!
