Hi! I saw your comment to the MOD and I know she answered it, but I went trough a way similar sitch 4 times (3 with the same group of girls)
I'm also really shy
So
1] just forget about the girls who ditched you
2]Playing basketball brought me new friends with common interests so Clubs and Sports
3] This was really tough for me, but talk to your crush!
4] If you have a class project randomly walk up to someone and ask to join their group

All this worked for me. And one more thing:
If the back-stabbing friends try to reconnect, keep your guard up for about 3 months. Trust me! That wasn't even enough for me. Should'a waited like a year.
Trust me, I know from repeated experience. Things will be better for you in the end! You'll know how to deal people who treat you like garbage, they won't!
