Hey so I saw your comment on the overuse injuries article. Tail bone injuries are the hardest injuries to recover from and they are least treatable. However they above all else should NOT be avoided. I horseback ride and last summer my horse threw me twice in two days and once on the ground and once into a sharp edge of a jump stand< both in the same place>. I ignored it and when I finally went to the doctor she said that it was too late to do anything about it. Now there are certain things I can't do or am limited to doing, like sit ups!!! Please don't ignore and I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter too (: -

yes i'm pretty sure bad vision affects your ability to spot so if you have bad vision wear contacts or glasses to dance. to improve your spot, you can put something bright on the wall that will grab your attention. also, just prepare like you are going to do a pirouette but instead of going to passe and releve just do a small demi-pointe, and spin and focus in your arms and your spot. hope this helps!!

and one more thing. lol. make sure you keep an eye on this because i have soft tissue damage in my hips and trust me, having hip injuries while you dance isn't fun, and it also causes knee and ankle injuries. so be careful!

i have the same problem. my physical therapist said that when you do a battement to focus on using your butt muscles to push your leg up rather than using your hip flexer to pull. also, building up core strength should help too. hope this helps!!

Oh yeah, and you should not ingore this, it may give you sore hips and that could limit your dancing abilities. Laughing

I also saw your question on Club dance. When your hip is popping like that it means you do not have enough strength/ aren't using the corect mussels to go as high as you are. Do your batmas lower until you do not experience popping. Then try to strength the correct muscles by concentration on raising your leg from the back of your thigh, not from the front. Hope this helps!

Dancer13- I'm trying to think of what my dance teacher said about that.She said that it means you are still growing, it happened to me too. But I ignored it. With the musceles you are going to want and work the core, the rear,thighs, and ankels, hope this helped!!!!!
