The Shattering: A new murder mystery for teens

Ready for a bizarre murder mystery? Even if you answered no, we think you’ll want to check out Karen Healey’s The Shattering.

Set in New Zealand, the story follows three teens who’ve all had older brothers commit suicide under strange circumstances. As they dig deeper into the tragedies, some things begin to form patterns. Why did all of the victims die after attending an annual New Year's bash? Why does no one seem to leave the town the story is set in? Did the boys really kill themselves?

The book totally hooks you in from the first chapter and, as a bonus, you will learn about different cultures like Maori and Samoan. Words from these languages appear occasionally and a glossary in the back defines them.

This creepy crime novel just hit shelves—and it’s the perfect read to get ya in the Halloween mood. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Shattering. Then come back and let us know your thoughts.

If you could write a mystery right now, where would you want the setting to be? Blog about it, babes.
