What would you put on your Flamingo List?

Sixteen-year-old Cam Cooper is a cynic, and rightfully so: she’s a cancer patient who’s been in and out of hospitals for the last seven years, and she misses her own dead father. Ironically enough, she lives in Orlando, Florida, where her mother works at the Polynesian Hotel at Walt Disney World—the supposedly happiest place on earth.

At camp last summer, Cam and her best friend Lily wrote the Flamingo List, a list of things that Cam wants to do before she dies. While she’s busy crossing things off of her list, Cam’s family decides to take a trip to Promise, Maine, a mystical town that supposedly has healing powers. Which is exactly what Cam doesn’t want to do: leave Florida when she has precious time with her family and friends left.

Maine has strange things: everlasting sunsets, whoopee pies, and a cute guy who works in a lobster shack named Asher. It’s undeniable that while in Maine, Cam begins to believe in love, in miracles, and in herself while she checks things off of her Flamingo List.

Wendy Wunder is an amazing writer who brings Cam’s world to life. You’ll find Campbell’s sarcastic sense of humor endearing as she wonders what life’s like after you die. Be sure to check out Wunder’s The Probability of Miracles when it releases Dec. 8. Then come back and let us know your thoughts.
