Body
This is a tad nasty...but I have some hair growing on my feet and toes. It really bothers me. It wasn't such a problem before because the hairs were so fine and light. Now, they're getting thicker and there's more of it!
Should I shave or use something like Nair? Help!
Hey girl, you're not the only hairy honey out there. My arms can give Wolf Man some competition. Believe it or not, your hair is there for a reason. It helps keep your skim warm when you're cold. Chances are that no one's really paying attention to it but you. After all, do you pay special attention to your friend's feet and toes? Probably not.
Should you shave?
Still a li'l embarrassed? We understand and we're here to help ya! Shaving may be the easiest, quickest and cheapest option. But the hair may grow back quickly. Your best option may be to wax the hair on your toes and feet. Removing hair with wax helps it stay away longer than shaving. The thickness of hair usually goes down when you wax, too.
Waxin' away?
You can go to a salon to get your feet and toes professionally waxed. This is actually really common and the people in the salon deal with this all the time, so there's no need to feel awkward. Or, if you want to do it in the privacy of your own home, you can buy a waxing kit at your local drugstore and do so in the comfort of your bathroom. Make sure you follow the instructions and you'll be good to go.
Other fuzz fighters...
If you're lookin' for a less painful method, you could try Nair. This cream is a depilatory, which and removes hair by breaking its bond. Be sure to do a patch test first before you apply it everywhere. Remember to follow the directions exactly. It usually takes three to five minutes to get rid of hair. And don't hesitate to ask your mom or another trusted relative, like an older cousin, for help if you need it. They've probably been there and done that and, best of all, they won't judge you.
Lots of love,
L'Oreal

I am already almost 13 and nothing is happening to me! Not even the slightest bud or blossom. Even my friends who are younger than me already have boobs or their periods. My mom got her period when she was 11 and my doctor keeps asking me if there are any changes that I have noticed. I am so self-conscious about my body.
Last year, every girl in my grade thought that growing boobs and stuff was gross and now it's all the rage! Will I ever have a bust or am I going to be a pancake forever?
Hey girl!
I know it can be way tough to be the late bloomer of the bunch. But no worries! A flower that blossoms later still ends up just as gorgeous. I didn't get my period until I was almost 15, and now I look just like all the other curvy gals around.
Delayed Daisy
It's totally normal to feel kinda left out when all your BFFs' bodies are developing. I was a string bean for the longest time, and it wasn't much fun to listen quietly as all my girlies talked about getting their periods, buying bigger bras and getting taller. But what you have keep in mind is that just 'cause it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it never will. You're just taking a li'l longer, and that's completely fine.
Lucky Lily
As much as you hate not being able to relate, count yourself lucky! Periods can be a huge pain—literally. You don't have to deal with wearing uncomfortable pads, having nasty cramps, feeling way bloated, and not being able to swim or wear white whenever you want. Also, since you aren't as chesty, you don't have to worry about looking too revealing. It can be exciting when your bod starts changing, but it can also be a hassle!
Positive Petunia
Even though you're not super curvy yet, it doesn't mean you aren't beautiful. Everyone has at least one trait that is to die for. Get jealous glares for your long legs? Complimented on your awesome abs? Wear tanks because of those toned arms? Flaunt it, girl! That doesn't mean wear skimpy skirts every day, but embrace your body the way it is! You're amazing and you def can still turn heads.
Keep your chin up, don't stress, and let nature run its course. You're gorgeous girl, and your body will develop when its ready.
xoxo,
Kristen Y.

I have a problem. I don't know if I have head lice or not. I don't think I do but my head is always itchy and my hair is dry. I can't seem to find anything in my hair, just a few white specks.
Once, I took a bath and soaked my hair into it. I found two tiny little black things that looked like they might be lice. How do I know if a have lice? I'm really scared.
I really don't want lice! Every time my head itches I freak out! Am I overreacting? HELP!
Hey Babe,
Relax! You might just have a dry, flaky scalp or dandruff, which can be treated quickly and painlessly.
Consider other probs, first
The signs of good ol' dandruff are just what you're describing—an itchy head with flakes found on the top of your head, around your hairline or on your clothes (think shoulders and upper back).
Dry winter weather, taking excessively hot showers or even something as simple as not rinsing out all of your shampoo can cause a dry, flaky scalp. Puberty and hormones might also cause this condition.
Fight the flakes!
Try using shampoos and conditioners that are specially targeted towards fighting dandruff (Head and Shoulders works great!). Take colder showers, and really massage conditioner into your scalp so that it acts like a lotion for your head.
If you're still freaked out have a parent or sibling or close friend inspect your head. Tell them to look for louse as well as small red bumps or irritations and little white eggs attached to the hair shaft near the scalp.
Don't use a treatment shampoo for lice if you're not 100 percent certain that you have lice.
Feel better!

My friends say they shave there pubic hair and I don't know what to do because my mom has never said I should.
I don't want to ask my mom because it's embarrassing.
What should I do?
Hey girl, when it comes to your growing body, there are some there's a thin line between things that are OK to say out and stuff that might be a big convo TMI. That said, when it comes to shaving down there, know it’s not something you have to do—in fact, a lot of girls and women don’t. Just 'cause your friends do it, doesn’t mean you should or need to do it, too. The best thing about your bod is you get to make your own (hopefully good!) choices about it.
Exercise the right to make your own decisions....
But when figuring out what to do about this sitch, ask yourself the following big Q: Are you comfortable with shaving there? Most women or girls do so during bikini season, but it’s getting cooler now. Is it necessary? If you think it is, crack out the razor and look for shaving cream for sensitive skin; your local drug or grocery store may have some shaving creams geared towards the bikini area. If it’s not for you, no biggie. In the end, what you do is no one’s business but yours, and it’s OK either way.
But don't be afraid to ask for guidance.
Remember, girlie, your bod’s going through a lot of changes right now. While stuff like this may be a li’l bit awkward, it’s important that you’re able to talk to someone about what’s going on. It may seem silly or embarrassing but believe me, your mom’s just there help. Don’t be afraid to reach out to her, your neighbor or even your guidance counselor or nurse if you need some advice on what to expect. All these lovely ladies have gone through all these changes and you can count on them as your go-to experts.
You’re one step closer to being an adult—inside and out. Sure it's time to make your own decisions, but don't be afraid to reach out to others along the way. Growing up’s your own journey, not your friends’—it’s all about the people and ride.
Infinite xoxo’s,
Alyssa B.
