Mother’s Day is on Sunday! Still looking for a gift or want to have some extra bonding time with the lady who gave you life? Celebrate your mother hen with these crispy nests filled with an extra little something. Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups Chinese crispy noodles1 1/2 Rice Krispies1 cup shredded coconut1/3 cup corn syrup (light)3/4 cup peanut butter1/4 cup cocoa powder1/2 cup sugar1 tsp vanilla1 package of jelly beans or colored chocolate malt balls Directions: In a large saucepan combine corn syrup, peanut butter, cocoa powder, sugar and vanilla. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Fold in the noodles. Rice Krispies, and the shredded coconut. Allow to cool until you can touch it without burning yourself. Using about 2 spoonfuls of mixture, place on wax paper and create an indentation in the middle. Add jelly beans or other candy to look like eggs in a bird’s next.

Looking for a yummy and quick pick me up? Bust out the blender for a simple and sweet treat. The yogurt packs a lot of bone friendly calcium and the fruit and granola will give you that healthy kick in the pants to get your morning moving. Ingredients: 1 container vanilla, non-fat yogurt1 cup Orange Juice1 frozen banana, cut into pieces for easier blended*1 cup frozen mixed berries (can be purchased in bulk from grocery stores)1 package of organic granola * Any fruit can be added. Directions: Peel and slice a banana. Wrap it in plastic wrap and leave in freezer over night. In a blender add yogurt and orange juice. Blend for 5 seconds. Add bananas and mixed fruit, blend until smooth. In a large cup layer the smoothie mixture with a layer of granola, then eat with a spoon.

Planning a summer slumber party? This banana-tastic recipe is something the girls with go APE over. Loaded with bananas, it’s a healthy treat and the fact that its baked in the oven instead of in a pan leaves plenty of time for some monkeying around.
Ingredients: 4 Bananas20 slices of bread (depends on how many layers you want it to be)6 eggs1 cup skim milk1 teaspoon VanillaSome cinnamonBrown Sugar
Directions:
Coat the bottom of a glass casserole dish with butter. Layer slices of banana on the bottom, sprinkle with brown sugar. Add a layer of bread, Wisk eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a bowl and pour half of the mixture over the first bread layer. Add another layer of bananas and bread and pour the rest of the egg mixture over it. Cover the dish and refrigerate it overnight, then bake it in an oven set to 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

These peanut butter chews deliver a delicious duo of creamy peanut butter and sticky, sugary sweetness.They stick to your fingers but not to your tongue. So easy peasy you don’t even have to fire up an oven! INGREDIENTS: 1 c. Corn Syrup1 c. White Sugar1 c. Creamy Peanut Butter4 c. Corn Flakes DIRECTIONS:
Combine corn syrup and sugar in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Allow it to boil for about a minute then remove from the heat. Stir in the peanut butter while the sugar is still hot, and mix until it is fully melted and evenly mixed in. Mix in the cereal until everything is coated. Using a tablespoon, drop onto waxed paper and allow to cool. ***You could also try substituting chopped graham crackers, cheerios, or any other cereal for corn flakes and try adding things like chocolate chips or marshmallows to give it your own feel.***
