A Family is a Family is a Family

What does your family look like?

When you think of families, the first thing that comes to mind is a mom, dad and kids, right? But we all know that the formula for a family can be a dad, another dad, a mom, another mom, a kid, another kid and maybe more.

HBO and producer Rosie O’Donnell show us that families come in different shapes and sizes in an exclusive documentary A Family is a Family is a Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration.

We got the chance to check out the film and, let’s just say, the cutest kids with the most surprising combinations of families will definitely get you going “awww” in a heartbeat.

The theme is all about love and most of the stories are told through the adorable words of little sons and daughters. The children are hilarious! New and familiar music runs throughout the entire documentary and it’s very catchy—some with danceable rhythms by artists like Ziggy Marley, Bonnie Rait, or even the kids themselves.

The amount of love between the kids and their ‘rents in what society considers uncommon combinations will get you tearing up, but in a good way.

So are you ready to laugh, dance and cry with a new view of what families should look like? Be sure to catch the heartwarming documentary when it debuts tonight, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. ET/PT only on HBO.

Check out a clip from the documentary below…

GL's Grammy Playlist!

Ready or not, here come the Grammys!

This Sunday night we get to find out who wins in the top spot of each musical category—whether you like them or not.

In light of the Grammy Nominees CD, we decided to pick our favorite songs from some of the artists up for the awards. Check it out…

1 “I’ve Got A Feeling” – The Black Eyed Peas
Whoo-hoo! The Peas just keep bringing hit after hit. This one will surely keep you dancing all night—and you know it will be good.

2 “Monster” – Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s had so many hit singles, it’s hard to keep track of which ones they are. This song is from The Fame Monster, and we can’t stop singing it.

3 “Use Somebody” – Kings of Leon
Suddenly out of nowhere (or so it seems) the Kings of Leon are rocking out and bringing all different kinds of music together. You can’t help but sing along to this one.

4 “You Belong With Me” – Taylor Swift
We just can’t get enough of Taylor. She’s such a great songwriter, and this song really shows how she can relate to just about anyone.

5 “Over My Head (Cable Car)” – The Fray
Even though it’s not their newest song, it’s still one of our faves! The Fray has such soulful music and awesome lyrics that even the old stuff sounds new.

6 “Sober” – P!nk
How can you not love her?  Although this song has been out for a while, we still can’t listen to it enough.

7 “Hometown Glory” – Adele
After her first hit, Adele has really grown into the music scene. Her sound is almost classic enough that all ages can enjoy her!

8 “It Happens” – Sugarland
Country-lovers and not alike can feel for this song. Who hasn’t had a bad day? But Sugarland wants you to know that it’s okay! Just laugh and things will be better because, hey – it happens.

9 “Holiday” – Green Day
They’ve got a rock opera from their album American Idiot, and now they have another song? Is there anything Green Day can’t do?

10 “Fix You” – Coldplay
Chris Martin and the gang have been busy making music, and also supporting great causes! How can you not love them when they’re just so… good?

What do you think of all the Grammy nominees? Who’s the best of the best? Who do you think will win? Blog about it!

Must Watch: America's Best Dance Crew

Nine crews, nine stories.  Do you know what that means? That’s right—season five of Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV is here!

The first episode of the season, which premieres TONIGHT, Jan. 28, begins the journey of five crews each from the West, South and East. All will compete as the groups are narrowed down to a final nine in the first three episodes. And with a $100,000 cash prize at stake and title of America’s Best Dance Crew, how far will these talented dancers flip towards the top? We can’t wait to find out.

This season brings a fresh face to the judges’ table when R&B superstar Omarion (formerly of guy group B2K) joins Lil Mama and J.C. Chasez as the third judge for the crews. Omarion is trained in tap, jazz, hip-hop and African dance, so he really knows his stuff. Does that mean he’ll be extra critical on the dancers?

Be sure to check out the new crews—and cute judge—of ABDC tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT only on MTV.

Pumped for the new season? Which has been your favorite crew so far? Keep us in the know!
