The Search For Elle Woods: Would The REAL Elle Woods Please Stand Up!

The finale episode starts out with loads of intensity. We open in the casting office for the last cut before the final audition. Finally, Rhiannon gets cut due to concerns about her voice. That means Bailey and Autumn will be competing for their place under the spotlight!

The girls need to learn three song and dance numbers for the audition. Oh yea, along with a full cast and crew at the Palace Theater on Broadway! The rehearsal is crazy with the moving sets and high power routines. The cameras show Autumn messing up a lot during her sets, but they don’t really show how Bailey is doing. I’m so excited to see the final products!

The Audition is here and I’m definitely rooting for Autumn. The hair and makeup process looks so fun by the way. Especially the costumes! It’s so nice that the girls’ parents got to see them perform.

SHOW TIME

Both Bailey and then Autumn knocked it out of the park with the first number, “Ohmigod You Guys”. I’d hate to be the judges. It’s gonna be a hard decision to make to choose between the two girls.

“Positive” was a little rough for Autumn. Bailey is a much better dancer. Autumn looks like her dancing is forced while Bailey looks like she’s just out there having fun.

Autumn came back a lot with her performance of  “I Am So Much Better.” Her voice was amazing. She has such a beautiful singing voice. Bailey did a great job too. It really is a shame that only one girl can win the part. They’re both really good.

The judges decision is here and the babe-to-be on Broadway is….

BAILEY!

I am a little disappointed that Autumn didn’t win but I think Bailey will do an amazing job. I loved her encore performance with all the original 9 girls singing backup. I’m so excited! I think I’ll be trying to score tickets to see Bailey on Broadway! How about you girls? How do you feel about the judges’ final decision? Blog about it!

Much Love,

INSIDE THE DISNEY CHALLENGE!

Four teams. Five weeks. One winner! Who isn’t up for a challenge? But what happens when the hottest Disney stars go head-to-head in some of the most outrageous and comedic  “sports” around? The 2008 Disney Channel Games are headed your way this July and GL’s very own Katie Abbondanza and Trish McNamara got a first-hand peak at the athletes in all of their glory. We watched them sweat it out on the field in a human foos ball match and “Tug of Four,” dance the night away, and rock out at one floor-stomping post-games concert.

GL’s Trish and Katie A. headed to Disney World to cover this year’s games!

From the Jonas Brothers, to Selena, Demi and so many more, we’ve come to the conclusion that these hot celebs? They’re actually just like us! They eat bagels. They slurp soda. They even carry their digi cams to snap pics with their friends (OK, so their crew might be a tad more famous than all of ours. But who cares?!).

We whipped out our spyglasses, flipped open our memo pads, and are giving you a behind-the-scenes timeline of what really went down in Orlando, FL. Check it out! And don’t forget to catch all of Disney’s shining stars (both from America and all over the world) duking it out for the Disney Channel Games Cup starting on JULY 27 (8:00pm ET/PT) only on Disney!

THURSDAY, MAY 1

Our first day on the field!

1:20pm An uproar of screams come from the mob of fans hangin’ at the stadium. Mitchel Musso is headed their way. Wait…it’s not Mitchel! It’s his look-alike little bro.

2:05pm A “yelp” comes from the dugout bathroom. Kyle Massey banged his knee against the door while trying to get out! In all fairness, that lock was tricky!

2:30pm
Selena Gomez, with perfectly done hair--much less poofy than Alex’s in Wizards--rocking a neon yellow sweatband, hugs every reporter she meets. How sweet! Psst…She told us everything she learned, she learned from Barney!

3:17pm Nick Jonas escorted into the dugout with, Big Rob, his massive teddy bear of a bodyguard.

The Jonas Brothers walking off the field while being filmed for their new reality show.

FRIDAY, MAY 2

Our last day at filming, followed by a red carpet event and one of the most awesome parties we’ve ever attended! All of the Disney stars under ONE roof…with us! Could it get any better?

8:13am David Henrie pops in bright and early, wearing his “Cyclones” uniform and stylish black, retro shades. He passed on some advice to us: “Work hard in life and you can get whatever you want.” Awesome!

12:29pm
The Jonas Brothers are whisked off to the Radio Disney Tent to do a quick photo shoot. Big Rob’s standing in the background tipping them off on how to pose.

7:48pm The Sprouse twins are looking sharp strolling down the red carpet. What’s their fave party food? “Pizza…and probably candy” they said. Yum!

8:01pm Demi Lovato is headed our way down the read carpet in a show-stopping silver cap. When we asked her for a party pointer on how to snag a guy’s eye she answered, “wear something crazy—like a sparkly hat!” Perfect!

8:55pm Bonus Jonas, Frankie, smokes the middle of the dance floor in a dance-off with Moises Arias

9:18pm Selena Gomez cranks it like Soulja Boy—and her step dad—on the dance floor

9:42pm Singer Jordan Pruitt snaps pics with her night-long friends, followed by a hug with Big Rob.

9:46pm Moises walks off the floor drenched in sweat. He was dancing all night long!

9:58pm Hugs are all around as the party has ended. Sigh. We wanted it to last forever!

Camp Rock’s Meaghan Jette Martin looking fab on the red carpet!

SATURDAY, MAY 3

It’s the night of the HUGE Concert, featuring Miley, Demi, The Cheetah Girls, Jordan Pruitt, and the Jonas Brothers!

7:03pm Miley shows face! Note: this was smack in the middle of that whole “Vanity Fair” picture uproar. She appears on stage perfecting some last minute moves to her concert routine

7:28pm Disney stars—the Sprouse twins and Kyle Massey—all dressed in their team uniforms playing catch behind the stage as people set up for the concert.

8:13pm Gotta love Florida! Storm clouds and pellets of rain start falling. But that doesn’t rain on anyone’s fun parade. Thousands of fans keep rocking out. Nothing a $7 poncho from the gift shop can’t fix.

8:47pm During a breather between sets, Miley thanks her fans for all of their support.

10:49pm Demi Lovato belts it out with some of her new songs. She’s awesome singing live!  (Check out her performance on the AUGUST 16 episode of the games!)

11:01pm The Jonas Brothers come out on stage and do a few songs. What a dreamy ending to a magical trip for us!

CHECK IT OUT!
For more behind-the-scenes coverage of the games, check out DisneyChannelGames.com starting JULY 27. Camp Rock’s Meaghan Jette Martin and Hannah Montana’s Cody Linley have the “Inside Track” just for you!

So You Think You Can Dance: Week Six of Eliminations!

Welcome back to So You Think You Can Dance! I am your host, Lauren Linhard and let me be the first to say that week six of eliminations was full of unexpected surprises. Shall we review?

Surprise 1) Jessica will be leaving the show because she cracked a rib during rehearsal. Never fear you Jessica fans, she will be back to tour with the Top 10.
Surprise 2) Comfort will be returning to the show to take Jessica’s place! That’s right, she is back and even more determined to prove she belongs.
Surprise 3) Each dancer will be performing a solo on Wednesday nights. America will now be voting for individual dancers instead of couples.
Surprise 4) The couples will be split up and new twosomes will be randomly chosen. Which means no more Twitchington! This is seriously going to stir things up.

Let's see which of the new couples have the chemistry and skill to impress the judges and which are in danger of dancing for their lives!

Couple 1: Courtney and Joshua

Dances- Hip Hop with Dance Scott
Rumba with Jean-Marc

Songs- Skippin‚ by Mario
Hero by Enrique Inglesias

Judge Summary:

LilC—(Dance 1) “Joshua, you killed it. Courtney, you should give it up for yourself.”
(Dance 2) “I might need my asthma pump. That was so good. I loved you confidence.”
Mary—(Dance 1) “Joshua, you stole the show. Courtney, you were respectable.”
(Dance 2) “You guys have an extra energy and subtle sexiness that made this fantastic.”
Nigel—(Dance 1) “Joshua, you had great dancing and character. Courtney, you had great character, but the dancing lacked.”
(Dance2) “I thought you guys were amazing. The dance was perfectly fit to you.”
Me—(Dance1) I love this dance. I thought the story line was creative and so fun to get into. I thought Joshua was crazy amazing.
(Dance 2) I felt this dance from Joshua, but not so much from Courtney. I didn’t feel the chemistry coming from her unless she was looking directly at him.

Couple 2: Mark and Kherington

Dances—Two Step with Ronnie and Brandi
Jazz with Tyce Diorio

Songs—Kick Back by Ty England
Canned Heat by Jamiroquai

Judge Summary:

LilC—(Dance 1) “I think you tried to attack it but you came from the wrong direction.”
(Dance 2) “I thought you did a good job, try to be a little more confident.”
Mary—(Dance 1) “Mark you were there. Kherington, something was missing from you.”
(Dance 2) “I am not really jumping out of my seat right now.”
Nigel—(Dance 1) “You had such a short time to get to know each other that you had no faith in one another.”
(Dance 2) “It was like a checklist dance.”
Me- (Dance 1) They had high points in this dance, but they were way overshadowed by the sloppiness and lack of energy. It didn’t really do anything for me.

(Dance 2) I have always been a little confused on the definition of Jazz dancing, and this didn’t help. This routine was ultimately forgettable.

Couple 3: Comfort and Twitch

Dances—Waltz with Hunter Johnson
Hip Hop with Dave Scott

Songs—Open Arms by Journey
Forever by Chris Brown

Judge Summary:

LilC—(Dance 1) “You guys weren’t floating for me.”
(Dance 2) “That was kinda Buck!”
Mary—(Dance 1) “It lacked so much power.”
(Dance 2) “I think that was buck too!” *insert Hot Tamale scream here*
Nigel—(Dance 1) “This wasn’t strong enough for a Top 10 dancer.”
(Dance 2) “It looked like you were dancing for the joy of it. And that is something to applaud.”
Me—(Dance 1) I loved Twitch’s outfit. What can I say, I am a fan of rolled sleeves on a man. I agree that this dance lacked a certain amount of power, but it made me melt anyway.
(Dance 2) THIS WAS MY FAVORITE OF THE NIGHT! I really loved this. You could totally tell that they were up on that stage just having fun, and because they are, the audience is. I am really excited for this couple.

Couple 4: Katee and Will

Dances—Broadway with Tyce Diorio
Ballet with Desmund and Dwight

Songs—Sit Down You‚re Rockin‚ the Boat from Guys and Dolls
Imagine by David Archuleta

Judge Summary:

LilC—(Dance 1) “You were explosive in character and choreography!”
(Dance 2) “You guys really delivered.”
Mary—(Dance 1) *insert Hot Tamale scream here*
(Dance 2) “You are two of the most beautiful dancers I have ever seen.”
Nigel—(Dance 1) “That was terrific! You two belong in the Top 10!”
(Dance 2) “I don't think I‚ve seen such wonderful dancing this season.”
Me—(Dance 1) I had issues with this routine because it had nothing to do with the plotline of the music it is from. So that kind of ruined it for me. However, I definitely didn’t miss Will ripping open his shirt at the end. That is hot my friends!
(Dance 2) I thought the dancing was beautiful and the choreography was interesting, but it was suppose to be two minds coming together into one, and I just missed it.

Couple 5: Chelsie and Gev

Dances—Contemporary with Sonya
Jive with Jean Marc

Songs—These Arms of Mine by Otis Reading
The House is Rockin‚ by Brian Setzer

Judge Summary:

LilC—(Dance 1) “I felt like you guys really committed to this.”
(Dance 2) “Chelsie, you out-danced Gev big time.”
Mary—(Dance 1) “I believed the chemistry here.”
(Dance 2) “I thought you guys did a terrific job.”
Nigel—(Dance 1) “Good job! I loved the choreography!”
(Dance 2) “I thought the pair of you did a great job.”
Me—(Dance 1) I loved the routine, but I hated the music choice to go with it. I just couldn’t get past the music to get into the emotion.
(Dance 2) I love that they never lost energy in this piece. It was so much fun to watch! I definitely disagree with all the judges about Gev though. I thought he did a fabulous job! Yay, Gev!

Solo Performances:

1. Chelsie
Pon De Replay by Rihanna
2. Gev
Hello/Goodbye by Lupe Fiasco
3. Courtney
I Want You to Need Me by Celine Dione
4. Mark
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
5. Comfort
Need a Boss by Shareefa
6. Twitch
I Question Mark by Wade Robson
7. Katee
The Women's Work by Maxwell
8. Will
If I Could Dance with My Father by Luther Vandross
9. Kherington
Breakin' Dishes by Rihanna
10. Joshua
Jam by Michael Jackson

Bottom Four:

Comfort and Kherington
Mark and Gev

Eliminated: Gev and K
herington

Talk about a week of “Whoa!” Yes, that was my general reaction to everything this week. I knew that when Twitch and Kherington were separated, she was going to be in trouble. I didn’t think it would be so immediate though. I must say, however, that Comfort really brought it this week while Kherington just seemed to get more tired. As for the guys, I shall always mourn the loss of Gev (the little Moe). I was a fan. Sadly though, we are trapped between five fabulous guys and one had to go home. Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if just this once we kicked off two girls and kept both guys. All I have to say is that Mark best prove his talent next week or I shall personally demand Gev return and take his place.

Stay tuned with So You Think You Can Dance every Wednesday at 8 pm and every Thursday at 9 pm!

The Search For Elle Woods: Triple Threat

The start of this episode brings a shocked look to the faces of the remaining girls when Rhiannon walks back through the doors and they find out that Natalie has been cut. Right away the girls start taking sides and bickering about who should have been gone home.

But, the girls head to their workshop to learn how to become a triple threat performer. It’s time to sing, dance and act! I wonder which girl will come out on top with that “It” factor.

Tap Tap! The girls bust out their tap shoes for the workshop and Autumn is having a hard time mastering the kick-ball-change. With the end of the workshop comes a sweet surprise! They all come out on top as the stand out performer and have a surprise waiting for them back at the loft.

It’s a treat, with a surprise dinner, yummy desserts AND fabulous Elle Woods themed Tiffany’s necklaces. Sigh. I’m totally jealous. Anything that comes in that little blue box is spectacular. After dinner the girls start sharing their Broadway dreams. It seems to me that Autumn is the odd girl out. She’s a lot older and has been in the game longer. The other girls look annoyed.

The rehearsals are totally intense with all the tricky vocals, tap dancing and lifts. It’s definitely a high-energy routine. As Rhiannon says, you can see all the girls becoming super competitive.

Audition Day morning comes and the girls start practicing straight off. Bailey and Rhiannon are bringing the girly drama while Lauren and Autumn are worried about the Audition. I think their heads are more in the right place.

THE AUDITION

Rhiannon seems to be losing her breath toward the end of her audition. I still don’t think she’s strong enough vocally to be on Broadway. Honestly, I don’t really like her voice in general. It’s too high-pitched and kind of annoying.

Bailey starts off strong, groovin’ to her song but during her costume change she has a wardrobe slip up.  They’ve given her the wrong hat and it’s WAY too big for her. It keeps falling down all though the audition. But, the judges liked it anyway.

Lauren seems pretty strong but she’s running out of breath a little bit as well. Her dancing is animated and fantastic. I love this girl.

Finally, it’s Autumn’s turn and her acting and singing is SO good. I see her as the strongest competitor at this point. She’s not so good with the dancing but she seems so “Elle” to me.

It’s time for the judge’s decision and the list has NO names! All four girls are sent to the casting office. This is getting pretty intense.

The decision is made and it’s Lauren who is cut. I have to say I’m pretty angry that they’ve cut her before Rhiannon. She’s a way stronger singer and dancer. She wasn’t losing her breath nearly as bad as Rhiannon. Ick!

They leave us with a cliffhanger. Again, not one, but two girls will be cut tonight. They aren’t going to tell us who until next episode! The judges only want to see two girls at the final audition.

My predictions are that we’ll see Bailey and Autumn in the final audition. Who do you think is the second girl to be cut?

Next week is the finale and I can’t wait! The audition is going to be on BROADWAY! With real sets, actors and costumes. I can’t wait!  How exciting. Be sure to check in so we can blog about it next week!

Much Love,
Drea
