Dont wear panty liners in your swimsuit cuz they might not work as well with all the water that is being absorbed anyway. I would use a light absorbancy tampon.

Hey girl, the next time you run out of period supplies, why don't you mention buying tampons to your mom instead of pads. This way, it won't be out of the blue. Don't worry too much about it, babe. After all, you mom's a woman too! Jiae K.

My friend once put in a tampon and forgot it was there. She realized about a month later when she got her next period that it was in there! And she was fine. So chances are, even if you leave a tampon in for a long time, you won't get TSS.
by supersingershannon on 7/22/2009 9:09:34 PM
TSS is really really rare, and unless you get these symptoms, you really shouldn't worry about it.
by supersingershannon on 7/22/2009 9:07:30 PM
OK, now i know this will sound weird but I've trid to put a tampon in, but it always stings to insert it. Ive tried 3 different times and i cant get it past the opening. Is there a problem with me?

Ok I need help! Anyone who could help me I would greatly appreciate it. I got my period a LONG time ago but, I've never been in a situation where I needed to use a tampon and now my cousins invited me to a water park tommorow and I will have ot wear a tampon or not go. So, I have some questions:
1. Has anynoe had any bad experiences with tampax pearl?
2. Do tampons hurt?
3. Do I have any precaustions that I have to take b4 putting in a tampon?
4. How do I p with a tampon in?
by uh-mazing on 6/16/2009 4:04:07 PM
by keelysquirrel on 5/26/2009 9:22:21 PM
The first time I put a tampon in I was crying and screaming because it hurt so bad.
Thankfully I learned that I put it in wayyyy wrong.
And for anyone wondering how to put on in that doesn't want to ask, if you buy Tampax Pearl, they always have a step-by-step how-to. That's how I learned!
And don't worry, putting a tampon in doesn't mean you're going to get TSS!

by pandahugz on 4/28/2009 6:39:11 PM
Yeah, they are TOTALLY right, TSS is really rare. You'd have to have a super absorbent tampon in, and forget it was there, and leave it there for days to get TSS. So no worry's if it was over night or more then 8 hours.

In girl scouts well our troop was at the lock-in my BFF got her period. She can't use tampons until she moves out (I know strict rents) so she had to miss out on swimming. When peeps asked her why she wasn't swimming she told them she forgot her swim suit. She said she was lucky cause some people bring extra suits. Also, some people thought it was stupid of her to forget her swimsuit.
If you have your period and are at an event like that, what do you tell people when they ask why you can't swim if you don't what to tell them about your period?
