I have babysat my lil brother and his friend a few times, but when i find out it's normally last minute which is hard because my brother lives with my dad and i live with my mom, so i can't always go.That is pretty much all i do that i get paid for, my other relatives don't pay me to babysit. it's kind of annoying because it is hard sometimes and they won't pay me. if you have any ideas that would be great.

i really want to start babysitting, but i havent taken any classes or anything. i'm kinda shy and dont want to be in a class where i dont know anybody. i also dont know where the local classes are taking place. does home economics count as a babysitting class? even if i am qualified i dont know who i could babysit for.
i really need help thanks.

Hey girlie,

Meeting people in a class wear you don't know anyone could help you overcome your shyness. I took my babysitting classes through the red cross. Talk to your parents and have them find out about local CPR classes. Also, to start babysitting talk to neighbors and family friends to see if they know anyone that needs a sitter!

MOD...... I'm babysitting for the first time and its a toddler i really don't know many crafts we can do because shes only 3 she just learned how to write her name do you think i should buy a coloring book so each time i go there she has it or just give it to her as a gift please help please and thanks.

Hey girl, the coloring book sounds like a good idea. That's something that will keep her occupied as well as getting her to use her creative skills. Check out our Babysitter's Club hub HERE for lots of great activities and ideas you can use with your toddler. One of the most important things you can do is to have a ton of patience with her, and also to have fun!

I am taking a babysitting class to get my babysitters liscense, and I've already had a good amount of experience babysitting kids. My older sister had twins recently, and my other sister has one on the way. They have asked me to babysit adn I am really excited. The only thing is, babies, and especially twins, are pretty tough to babysit and I'm not sure how much is a fair amount of money to ask for. I feel responsible enough to handle twins, but I feel that i should be payed a bit more than normal since I am sitting two babies. My sister is a little tight on money, and I want to be fair, I just don't know how much to ask for. If you could help that would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hey girl, what you want to consider is how much you've been paid before and how much the payer can afford. Let's say that you were paid $7 in previous babysittings. From there, you can ask more because you are looking after twins. However, before you tell her what you've been paid, ask your sister how much she was thinking and from there, it shouldn't be hard to compromise something. <3 Jeannie

my mom keeps saying that i am not responsible enough to babysit! i never want to clean anything up at home when she is watching my every move! and whenever my rents arent home my sis and i are always tempted to sneak onto the computer and then we never get anything done! I REALLY want to babysit. i have even taken classes for them and kept hinting to my mom i REALLY want to babysit. i also dont know of anyone to babysit 4.

Hey babe, prove to your 'rents that you're ready by showing them how responsible you can be. Ask relatives and family friends if they know of anyone you can sit for. Take it from there!
