i think i am developing an eating disorder. some
days i eat A LOT and feel guilty. Then, on other days, i don't eat hardly anything and excersize.
eating a lot happens when my parents aren't home, and when i don't eat, its random. is there something wrong with me?




Hey babe...it sounds like you're restricting at times and then bingeing at others because your body needs the food.  It is a bit of eating disorder behavior, but the fact that you realize what is happening is amazing.  You can stop these behaviors with effort before an eating disorder does develop.  If you stick to three balanced meals, 2 snacks, and 1 dessert you will feel full of energy and will not end up restricting and bingeing.  However, if you feel you are over exercising to compensate for eating alot, that is definitely eating disorder thinking and you should try talking to a trusted adult about it.  The key is balance, but it's hard to get ourselves to commit to balance without support from the ones around us.

Heyy. How are you? Good? I hope so. Well, anyways, I really need your help. I know I'm not fat but...I think I am. My doctor says I'm at a very good weight but I have a stomach and thighs. I'vee thought about puking multiple times and almost did it. I'm fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what should I do? It's not like I could tell my mom. Besides, if I did, I don't want them to have to spend money on a therapist. HELLO, it's call a recession


 

Hi darlin, everyone has a tummy and thighs, like 1 % of the world is stick skinny. if your doctor isnt concerned then you have no reason to worry, they would tell you if you were fat. If you are having a body image issue, why not talk to your mom...she is a woman that probably went through the same thing as some point. If you dont want to talk to her, talk to your guidance counselor. That is what they are there for, plus its free. xoJANA

MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!! Ok, so I am 5"3 and am 136 pounds. I have a tiny waist but hips, boobs and thighs. A lot of time I feel gross about myself. A couple of times I made myself throw up!! Sometimes I skip lunch and eat a small breakfast, but then rumors around school start about me being anorexic!! I really wanna loose weight but I cant work out at the gym until I am 15. What are some healthy food I can eat to maintain a healthy weight?

Losing weight will not happen by not eating!  Instead, make sure you eat a balanced amount of veggies, fruits, protein (meat, fish, eggs, etc.), and grains.  You don't need a gym to get physical activity either.  Walk/run around your school's track or even just around the block.  Rent tapes from the library that walk you through a yoga routine or Tae Bo - anything to get your heart pumping.  Just remember that you are absolutely beautiful and your goal should be to get HEALTHY, not just lose weight.

***********MOD********* i need some help. i have been thinking a lot about bulimia lately. i see a therapist for different reasons. but i need someone to snap me out of thinking about bulimia cause i know how dangerous it is. idk how much longer i'll go before trying to make myself throw up... THANKS!

 

hey girl! DO NOT DO IT EVERRR! Think of how sad your family and friends would be. Can you do that to them? Do you want ROTTED teeth and ICKY breath? Do you want to possibly have a heart attack before you ever turn 18?!? NO!! Keep talking to a therapist and try to be careful never to eat more than what you feel comfortable with, that way you wont want to throw it up!

One of my friends thinks she's needs to loose weight. She told me once in class that she weighs 88 pounds, and she's 5'1". Every one is encouraging her to eat food, because she's becoming annorexic, but she feels guilty when she eats a full meal. She knows she needs to eat, but she can't. Every one is scared, especially me. I know how it started, her family would joke about her being fat(they were joking, since she's normally skinny) and it lead to this. Please help! I don't want her to die.

 

Hey girl! Try talking to her and expressing your concern. If nothing changes, I would talk to an adult about how worried you are. They will be able to take further action!

I've been diagnosed with anorexia and I go to a therapist. One of the biggest problems is that its stopping me from having my period. I know I am underwieght, and Ive been trying to gain weight so I can participate in track this season. However, everytime I start eating alot of calories I feel sooo guilty. I like being underwieght and I am terrified of becoming fat again since I used to be. Please Help!!!!!

Well, she has told an adult, she was diagnosed, but I want to try and help stop because she probably does it 2 times a day, and if I could just help decrease it to 1...and hopefully 0.

 

Hey babe, That's a great first step! Let her know how worried you are and how much you want her to stop. Maybe your support will help make a difference.
